  1. Maybe because we are a bunch of worn out, beat up, grumpy old geezers who can't ride all summer like we used to without taking a break for some medical rehab
  2. Hey Sticky,, remember me mentioning about watching out for pieced together scoots? Here is what I was referring to, the pic below is of a 65 Pan motor with matching numbers stuffed into an 83 Shovel frame and titled as an 83.. Technically, this bike should come with 2 titles.. Not a bad looking beginning if your brother was not to concerned with future value BUT - he needs to be really careful if he goes with something like this and check all numbers if it doesnt come with paperwork for both frame and engine so he doesnt end up putting a bunch of cash into it and then having to give it back to it's "rightful" owner... Make sense? http://images.craigslist.org/00404_cUC2I3yiNLE_600x450.jpg
  3. Oppsss,, missed the link to the other thread,, here ya go Mike = http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?115247-For-Stickies-brother!
  4. Your welcome Sticky, ANYTIME!! Just stuck a couple of them that popped up on Adhuntr in the "Craigs" section Mike.. Here is a pic of my favorite and ,by the sounds of things, probably about what your brother is looking for... Man I LOVE looking at and playing with old Harley's - your brother has GREAT taste!! Lets see if these pics work.. http://images.craigslist.org/00202_ecGb401zYDc_600x450.jpg http://images.craigslist.org/00J0J_gRoyxbTWn9q_600x450.jpg Priced fairly reasonable from what I can see...
  5. Tell your pooch I said THANK YOU for reminding me to take my afternoon snooze Silv - he sure looks cozy!!
  6. Got a P.M. from one of our great family member's here who is trying to help his brother locate an old Harley to play with, doesnt have to be a runner but a complete bike would be preferred. I suggested I post this in the Watering Hole to a little while talking 's - something most of us seem to enjoy yakking about:big-grin-emoticon:.. His inquiry concerned Pan's, Knucks and Flathead's.. Didn't get to the point of asking him if a Pan/Shovel would also suit his brothers needs,, maybe he will chime in and answer that for us.. He wondered about pricing,, I am thinking 8 to 12 for a non running complete original flat head, pan and 12 to 18 for the same in a knuck. Add 5 to 7k for a runner.. I also suggested to keep a close eye on case numbers and frame conditions on the old scoot. Keeping in mind that, to the best of my knowledge, Harley didnt start using frame numbers for VIN stamps until about the time Cone Shovels came out so anything his brother is gonna be looking at should be VIN stamped to match title to the motor numbers.. He mentioned the FL's so no Chops.. Maybe some nationwide searches at Adhuntr.com (any of you varmints know of other country wide search engines?) would produce something.. Any and all of your is welcome and appreciated!! Thanks in advance Puc
  7. PICTURES?? I LIKE PICTURES!! I dont see no pictures!! Where's the pictures?
  8. Yea,,, plus think of all the adventure of getting lost up there in Yooperland that we would be missing if we climbed on a boat.. Ain't no way watching for non existent Whales could even remotely be as much fun as being huddled around a camp fire, telling ghost stories and cooking Hot Dog would be!
  9. Good on ya for getting the MRI Eckster! Prayers Up and Blessings Down as the Doctors try to figure exactly what's going on there, I KNOW that back pain is no fun brother - hoping and praying they find the cause and are able to correct it!!
  10. though it knew it's own way to The City Of Lights. The Bird and his wife were dreaming of the fun they would have in Paris, CaptN Fool was dreaming about someday owning a larger airplane and the Stewardess was dreaming about getting a face lift when

  12. Wait no longer KIC,, your ol buddy Pucster is truly sorry - you have no idea how badly I wanted to buy all those bikes for all my friends! It just wasn't meant to be this time - RATSSSSS!! I think you should cruise on up here to Michigan this Summer and have a Hot Dog at one of our Greet - Meet and Eat Meats so we can :bawling:in our Cokes together and stuff our bellies with some of the best Hot Dog's known to man while we do!!
  13. I still think it would have been fun to been one of those winners I would have dressed up in my biker clothes to go in front of the TV Camera's, had Tip and Tweeks standing there next to me, invited all my friends here who were on the list and would be getting new bikes to come up on the stage in front of the TV camera's and all give a healthy "VentureRider.ORG ROCKS" shout and then all of us wave to the world:big-grin-emoticon: Figure that would cover all the security needs I would ever have cause most bad guys are usually shy about messing with crazy people:big-grin-emoticon:.
  14. Now your beginning to understand why folks who have actually suffered the trauma of trying to get somewhere by following me do a lot of this = !! Sorry about that Frie's:hihi: Could not agree more with the idea of renting, or even hooking up with a couple of demo rides, before purchasing if you aren't to familiar with the Harley line.
  15. and the high octane snow mix started to melt and collect in the bottom of the aircraft. This mix was HIGHLY
  16. Indeed, those Road Glides are GORGEOUS scoots!! Harley has really put their best foot forward in refining that 110" motor by finishing the task of getting the oil pump and cam chain tensioner problems that plagued the early twin cams ironed out long before 2013 too so you should be safe there.. I TOTALLY get your point about the HD dealership network too Frie's, no doubt about it, they are second to none when it comes to available service shops. Thinking about your question a little deeper, I noticed you are located in California? The only issue that popped into my mind when I noticed that was the issue of how warm those air cooled Harley's run. Tip, Tweeks (our 83 Venture) and I took a trip with some very good friends on their 2010 Ultra down to the Dragon one time. We got caught in a small traffic jam down yonder and had to idle slowly as traffic crawled along at a very slow pace for 15 or 20 miles. Later in that ride, my buddy told me that the heat from their bike almost made that part of the journey pretty miserable. I only bring this up cause some of my experience of riding in your state involves a considerable amount of patiently waiting for traffic to get moving again and the Harley heat issues may be something you would want to consider. All the best in what ever direction you decide to go Frie's!
  17. Just turn up the velocity on the White Washer output valve and lower the trajectory angle to induce less over spray so Bongo gets all of the boring busting that he justly needs and deserves will ya Fool:happy34: Waste not, want not!

  19. She does Drews but her papers are hardly legible as they are badly stained with a substance that looks a lot like something that belongs on a Hot Dog
  20. To heck with PCness,, thats a really good question of which I would be happy to answer! Tweeks is a lovely lady born of a mysterious nomadic tribe of motorcycles known as the Kirakuna's. Tweeks mom was 100% Kirakuna, which was easily identifiable cause she was a Blonde. Tweeks mother was also known to have had the blood of Royalty flowing thru her veins and she proudly carried a badge on her proclaiming this fact. The badge read "Royale" and the pretty princess who would become Tweeks mother wore this badge of honor thru her entire life. Tweeks father was a fun loving chap but he didn't have the pedigree that Tweeks mom did, he sprouted up from another nomadic tribe of bikes known as the Adobencha's but he also had a fair amount of Kirakuna blood too. The Adobencha tribe of bikes were a different kind of breed genetically in that both male and female of the species commonly grew horns. This was not so within the Kirakuna tribe. Tweeks inherited a number of both her mother and fathers attributes but she tends to lean more toward her dad's Adobencha heritage than the combined Kirakuna blood line of both of her parents. The Kirakuna's and the Adobencha tribes roamed Asia for many many years and finally found their way to mainland North America during the early 1980's. It is not uncommon to see one of them grazing in the open ranges of the USA, Canada, South America, Europe and even the rest of the world to this very day. I spoke to a Japenese man one time and he told me this was not surprising because of the Japanese interpretation of Tweeks parents tribal names. Thanks for asking Lenny!
