So let's dig a little deeper here as long as I got you varmints on the wire.. I have heard that Mom Yam decided to put a bunch of electrics down yonder in the "leggins" or "lowers" (no idea if that is what they are called know adays - talking about the shrouds that sit in front of your legs).. If this is so, would it be possible to move those devices under the fairing and be able to remove the lowers for more air flow? You guys ever bump into a need for that? I always remove the lower fairings on my first gens cause I like to be able to sprawl out and I have found the air flow to be rather nice when riding in high heat area's...

Just dont try any fancy manuvers cause that particular model had a tendency to point the underside of the pontoons skyward with very little effort -
A couple of you lop eared varmints may remember a post I did a while back about me being told by my doctor not to ride Tweeks for a while and how I was wholeheartedly complying with his wishes.. You may recall that my dear friend and neighbor Dave had brought down his 2012 Ultra for me so I would not miss some spring weather riding and still abide by my doctors wishes.. That scenario all worked out so well that this same friend/neighbor and his wife stopped by yesterday with a whole new plan. One that involved Tip and I driving our Kia down to their home, having dinner and then, once again, Tip and I climbing on Big Red (his Ultra) and going on a Lake Shore Spring Run.. This time would be different as he and his wife would join us on their other bikes making the journey even more interesting.. I post this series of video's void of the spirit of looking for sorrow in the response of thoughts like "ohhhh that poor poor Puc" but totally in the spirit of "if these crazy people can get out in the freezing temps of the West Michigan Lake Shore surely I (that would be YOU - the reader) can do the same,,,, that's right - YOU can and should GET OUT AND RIDE cause it wont be long and we will all be sitting around complaining about Fool and his over active Wisconsin White Washer again!!! PS - remember if you do go riding PLEASE dont forget your because the are out in force this time of the year!!

Tip, Tweeks and I get back down to Bama we are definitely gonna have to go in search of "You Take It" and "This Aint It" roads!! ,,, and not nessarilly in that order cause without 's of "This Aint It" road I have no way of knowing whether or not there are any barns, hay bales, bushes of Cow's to hide a tent behind for overnight lodging and I see lots of Stop, Drop, Sleep and Go places on good ol "You Take It" ...

How do you 2nd Gen riders swap out rear tires on the road?
cowpuc replied to cowpuc's topic in Watering Hole
Not to speak for Dan but I think he is referring to a method that can only apply to tires with inner tubes in em. Basically slipping the tube out and patching it and slipping it back in with the wheel/axle still intact on the scoot.. Kind of an old school biker thing that went out with spoked wheels.. Gotta say,, it worked GREAT back in the day as long as your scoot didnt have rim locks.... -
You are welcome Fuzzy and thanks for the well wish on the hand - things doing pretty good.. You locate those Avon's yet or you thinking of going another route? You check Ebay and Amazon for Avon's? Thanks Fool,, I will use em sparingly so I dont use em up - never really did care much for periods anyway,, they just never seemed very friendly and upbeat,,, more of a "HEY,, ITS OVER - IT'S DONE AND THERE AINT NO MORE" kind of varmint , they also always seem to have "goodbye" feeling about em and I really don't care much for goodbyes either,,,,

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about - NICE JOB Z!!! Right there with ya on the ol "got er all apart,, may as well add..." routine! So Z,, just out of curiousity, about how big of job is it to split the fairing on a second gen - time wise.. Something that could be done at road side? Seeing a fair amount of devices under the outer fairing in your pics makes me wonder if replacing errant relays and stuff might be easier on the 2nd gen than on the 1st.. Oh, by the way,,, this takin business keeps up like this and the VR department is gonna have to start laying off employees Gonna have to find a REAL job like chasing the wheel all across North America on a beat up old Venture

So whats the current status with shipping guns these days Jack? May sound crazy but I got booted off Ebay for selling Antique BB Guns on their site - my kids teased the living day lights out of me and started calling me "Gun Runner".. Ebay suspended my account for a year and, after the fact, I found out that part of the reason why they dont allow BB Gun sales has to do with modern day shipping laws.. Can you still ship long guns (I know an FFL has been required for handguns for a long time) from seller to purchaser with out to much problem? Was yakking with my neighbor last night about a new "Ruger American" 9 mill he just picked up.. had it shipped to a local Pawn Shop who has all the legal ducks in a row - charges 20 bucks to receive a hand gun.. That about what its like out there too?

Back when the kids were little Tippy used to do a weekly "Moms Night Out" with a group of other ladies (all mothers need this when the kids are little, especially if married to a Cowpuc - they (mothers) need to be around adults at least once a week). That left me home to play with the kids. I would lean some card board up against the kitchen cabinets, take balloons and pin them to the cardboard, me and the kids would shoot bb guns and pop balloons for hours.. Had several Crosman 760's (pheumatic pump up) that 2 pumps were perfect for "ballooning it".. Pop a balloon - get a piece of penny candy. Went thru a lot of BB's and a lot of Candy. Tippy was happy, I had a blast AND all my kids learned to shoot very well before they were 7 years old..

Alberta's Icefields Parkway / Rider Magazine Article
cowpuc replied to Cowboy's topic in Watering Hole
Yea BUT,, ol DaddyO' Pucster has 's of those bugs of which he has spoken so now we KNOW who speaketh the truth between father and son here (C 's below).. Now,, the previous is in NO WAY meant to be a discredit toward those Champion Canuck riders - Divey and his side kick "7" (Dale1+2+4) - whom I am sure know wayyyy more than I ever will about the "Icefield Parkway" of which I have never ridden BUT - when it comes the Alberta bugs - I know my stuff:rasberry: Cowboy,, again - have NO idea on the Parkway (would LOVE to ride it sometime and go up and BUG those two lop eared Canuck varmints) but do know that the last time we did Glacier NP it was the 1st week of July and they had JUST opened up the "Going To The Sun" road the day before we got there.. If you are thinking of riding that road thru the park (it is GORGEOUS) I wouldnt plan on doing it to much earlier in the season - foot hills and high plains were good riding temps though.. Same goes with the Yellowstone area - its a toss up on the weather when it comes to those mountains - July/August are my suggestions if your gonna be doing those area's.. By the way Cowboy, take a map and look at Red Lodge - look south and find Cody - find "14A" going from Cody to Ranchester - if at all possible you will want to ride this amazing roadway, that roadway (once again - "14A") going up into the Big Horn Mountains took over 30 years to accomplish and it is spectacular. Custers Last Stand NP is real close to the end of that route - wayyy cool too for a Cowboy!! Another often missed ride is to a place called "Jordan Montana". If possible, find your way to Jordan Montana, very very small western cow town,, when you get to Jordan stop and ask where the "Senior Center" is. At the Senior Center they have the COOLEST Museum you have EVER seen!! I wont spoil it for you but you will see AWESOME real deal Cowboy stuff and get to play with ACTUAL Dinosaur bones - PLACE IS UNREAL!! Gonna pick up Devils Tower/The Black Hills of South Dakota on the way to Fort Collins? Dont forget that the Sturgis Rally is the 2nd full week of August each year.. The week before that has also become VERY busy with bikes - almost a Rally in itself.. Yellowstone, Jackson Hole, Rapid City, Custer, The Black Hills, Devils Tower and all that region can get overrun with motorcycles during those dates. Its fun but can be trying if your trying to tour and like the quiet.. I have places that I have camped for years in the Black Hills area and would be glad to share them with you. The Dakota's, most of Wyoming, Montana, Utah, parts of Colorado are "open camp" like Michigan is. State/Federal Lands are always open. Same as most BLM lands. Stop, pop a tent, sleep and get up and start over.. Now,, about those Alberta bugs......... -
Pucs Greet - Meet and Eat Meat Rally's (coming to you once again in 2016 - everyone welcome - come join the fun and find out what it's all about!!) this message brought to you by and approved by The Hot Dog Lovers of Michigan Association!
