  1. I will be sure and shake the parts off into the box they ship my parts in and save those hidden surprises and all the left over packing, air and the shipping box itself just for you @venturesome - we sure wouldn't want our friends in Bama to miss out on any future snowstorms,,, hope ya get my drift
  2. Aint that the truth brother!! Might not be a bad idea to double check the rear pumpkin too - some, if not most of those rear ends are vented so it might be possible to get water into that lube thru a vent..

Congrats to the whole Huggy clan:clap2::clap2::dancefool:!!! THAT is just awesome!! Now its time for Huggy to go Huggy shopping for that precious princess Harper brother! PS: +1 on what Eckster said about the pics!
  4. Cheesy Rider,, gotta ask,, have you looked into bagging out your RSV by seeing if you could pick up docking hardware for the rear trunk so it could easily be removed (may be beating a dead horse here cause maybe the RSV comes OEM with removable trunk like the 1st Gen MK1 - just thinking I had heard this is not the case). Back before Tip started riding with me full time I baggerize my 1st Gen many times and it always amazed me how much lighter it felt when I did.. I also have 2 good buddies with HD Ultra's that we did that conversion to and WOW - did it make a difference.. Just a thought.. As far as a two up fun bike JUST for around town, Tip and I do a lot of playing around here locally on our little Honda Helix scooter.. Have you ever noticed that most of the desirable breeds of scoots have the passenger riding higher up in the saddle than the driver is.. I am sure it has to do with getting the driver down into the "V" of the frame and the passenger ends up riding up on top of the rear fender.. If you think about that (the passengers weight being carried above the central weight of the rider) it just doesnt seem like this would be a good position for optimal weight distribution/low speed balancing but it is "the look" that sells.. One of the reasons our little Helix is such a fun - in town - bike is because it is low slung and stretched in design so we are both sitting low in the saddle at about the same height.. Although the FJR style of scoot is not low slung like our little Helix it still has the advantage of seating you both at about the same level (which - ironically - is similar in design to a 1st Gen MK1 - more of a "Sport Tourer") which seems like it would have the same affect = easier to handle at low speeds when two up because you dont have the added weight of a passenger and trunk ABOVE your weight balance line where your fighting against it.. Add that to the fact that, as you mentioned, total weight is a lot less on that type of bike than on a full blown touring scoot.. Gotta remember something else in all this though,,, these great big beautiful Touring bikes that we have been riding do have a REAL advantage when it comes to going long distance brother.. I only make the suggestion of trying to bag out your RSV because it would probably be easier to do that than it would to turn a Sport tourer into a full blown touring bike should you decide to take a longggg distance ride with a passenger on the back..
  5. Just cause I cant spin wrenches yet (just had hand surgery) doesnt mean I can't get ready for when I can.. My garden tractor needed new blades and a belt. Local supply place didnt have the parts. Best price online was Ebay at 38 bucks for the blades, 14 bucks for the belt.. Did a little digging and found this place: http://www.vbelts4less.com/ WOW what awesome prices - Blades were 8.50 each and belt was 8.60 and this was for American Made - top of the line stuff!! Called them and come to find out they are part of a company called "Belarus Tractor" and are located in Milwaukee Wisconsin - thats right - home of the famous Wisconsin White Washer and our good friend @Flyingfool!! Placed my order and will let you lop eared varmints know how it goes just in case any of you are needing lawn mower stuff!! Got chur back brothers!!

  7. Yep,, THAT is AWESOME Larry - looks like a BLAST for sure!! Definitely both good looking machines - looked very rideable!! Did any one notice the guy doing the videoing pulling up next to the trike toward the end of the vid? Made me wonder about something,,, anyone know if its legal to ride side by side in the same lane when one of the bikes is a trike? Pretty sure most of the States that would be illegal if it involved a car and a motorcycle,, wonder if a 3 wheeler has a different rule if the 3 wheeler is classified as a motorcycle?
  8. WOW ZZZZ WOW WOW WOW Eckster - nothing like a little Enduro riding on the Wing eh!! Good thing that guy in the truck wasn't a Michigan DNR guy or he probably would have asked you for your boater registration and checked your bike out to make sure you had life jackets on board.. Might not be a bad idea to check your scoots fluids for water contamination and make sure you didn't pick up a salmon in one of your saddle bags.

  10. CONGRATS JF and THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT RIDE ALONG MY FRIEND!!!:clap2::clap2::clap2::dancefool::dancefool: Enjoyed every post and all the pictures and very glad to hear you made it home safely - YOU DA MAN BROTHER!! Gotta ask,, what/who/where ended up with that 1st Gen? Did it make its final destination of fulfilling your ride needs or did you have to abandon it along the way? Thanks for the update and WELCOME HOME JF!!
  11. And enjoy the read I did brother - GOOD FIND - thanks for passing it on!! :clap2::dancefool: THAT was very informative including things like why ya gotta lose valve overlap when turboing, anti spark knock technology, dropping compression ratio and how they manage ignition timing.. TONS of really cool stuff in there for sure.. What neat machine that scoot is - I dont think I have ever even seen one on the road but would love to own one to play on!!
  12. Not me baby,, Tip ALWAYS stays with me!! If they want a Tip they gotta go find their own!! I go with the thought of tossing em a few bucks if they do a good job.. Maybe even remind them of why you are tipping them in the process - sometimes a pat on the back and a thank you is almost as much appreciated as the extra cash...

  22. + 2 for that category!! Would LOVE to say for sure for Tip and I but,, and then there's,,,,, and who know's if.... Time will tell and we sure hope that what it ends up telling is that we are able to make it to Oberlin this year!! WHAT A BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dancefool::dancefool::dancefool:
  23. Those things REEK of fun!! I always thought they looked like a modern day roller coaster (like the Raptor, Batman or something like that) that cut itself loose from its rails in order to sneek off and go out seeking adventure.. We have seen a number of them out and about now that they have been in production for a while and gotta warn ya,, people driving them are usually being followed by all kinds of Paparopsees and Mamaheadturners - sorta like movie star status on three wheels if you will... Congrats Gary!! Hope the two of you have a BLAST out there with your new Sling - come on up for a Hot Dog sometime - be GREAT to have two movie stars (sounds like that Carbon One is coming back for more Dogs too:clap2:) show up this year!!
  24. WOW ZZZZZZZZZZZ WOW WOW WOW,, NOW WE'RE COOKING WITH FROZEN FINGERS AND BENT FORKS!!! @Condor, sorry about ya losing your story my good friend cause we sure would have enjoyed reading about life with your Square Four brother!! I have ALWAYS loved the looks and sound of those sweethearts.. FYI - something I have learned when dealing with these computers and after having done exactly what you are talking about (several times as a matter of fact) is that I now open a new window - open my email - copy/paste a copy of the story into my email and send it to myself for a backup.. Has saved me from loosing everything should my computer decide to get even with me for torturing it.. I usually only find this necessary if I have started something on here and had to leave it for any reason - or if its an exceptionally long story.... GREAT STORIES YOU GUYS and all the participation is greatly appreciated.. Now, quoting that lop eared varmint @videoarizona - "so whose next"? Need a primer?
  25. No Kawasaki Widow Maker riders from days gone by... Anybody got a story about owning one of these?
