  1. Beulah The Buzzer on that one,, dont cha just hate puppy love:big-grin-emoticon:??? Oh well,,,, like Gawildkat always says = 'Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all',,,,,,,, wonder if Kat was thinking about men and motorcycles when she penned that:scratchchin:. Me n Tweeks was sitting in the garage purusing thru Ebay and discovered something - WOW theres a lot of Limiteds for sale and at much better price points.. Tweeks laughed and said now go see if you can even find ONE of me.. She wins ,, no new Harley While we were playing around comparing Harley Limited prices the ol girl managed to nudge me over into the tires and battery sections of Ebay and started with the "I want one of these and two of those" routine:Im not listening to.. Typical spoiled ol sticker covered 1st Gen with no second gear and a worn out saddle - some bikes want EVERYTHING!!!!
  2. as long as you like
  3. Know the bike WELL, 2012 Limited, 4k miles,,, got all the whistles and bells.. Even has the detachable trunk option... Tweeks is snarling at me... Ohhhhhh the pain of it all!!! Lot of bike for 17500... Lot a money for a motor and two wheels.. Sure would seem weird to ride something so,, so,,,,, well,, so fancy!! ,,,, Tip says if we do this we will never hear the end of it from all our friends on VR.. I told her no problem as long as we covered it with stickers as we traveled.. Sure is purdy!! Helped my buddy unload it from his trailer 3 years ago and actually was the first one to take it for a ride back then with zero miles on it - rode it even before my buddy did .. What a sweet machine!! 27k back then brand new... Wow thats a lot of beans..... Has over 5k of goodies Dave added on to it between then and now... Lots of goodies... Sure love motorcycles ,, specially pretty new Harley's ,,, wow what bike!!
  4. WAKE UP!!! WAKE UP - WAKE UP!!! IT'S FRIDAY!!!!!
  5. Awe man,, @T.J. is just being modest,,,, lets sit back and hear some more of his insight.. And then there is one I thought I had but I cant find,,,,,,,,,, hey Teej,,, tell about the Mirrors,,, COOLEST THING I EVER DID SEE!!!! Ya just gotta tell em about the Mirrors Teej!!!!
  6. I have always LOVED the looks of the new Voyager - that fairing has a certain style that appeals to me.. Have heard stories of them being leg toasters too.. Racking my brain here and maybe wrong about this but it seems like @Barrycuda may have had one:think:... Perhaps the bagger Voyager (Vaquero) would be cooler running... Wait a second here,,, didnt Kawi make some changes to the later models concerning the heat - seems like I read somewhere about an upgrade or something... Talking about new bikes here,,, I just noticed that its almost midnight,,, gotta scoot over to @The Tooch 's new bike page and give em a hard time!! He said "I WILL POST PICS ON FRIDAY" and in 17 minutes it will be Friday!!! :stirthepot::stirthepot::crackup:

    sealants

Have tried many of em over the years Rodney and, IMHO, Yamabond #4 is the best of the best.. Doesnt foul, swell or break up from oils or gas. Drys flexible and seals like WOW!! Gotta hunch that its what Mom Yam uses in her factory factory case sealing. VERY friendly with aluminum!! Word of advice brother (and I know you know this but thought I would put it up here in case someone else reads this that doesnt know this).. Because Yamabond #4 does not break down, if you get to much on "the crush" and it over laps and happens to get into oil passages it WILL cause a problems.. Use the stuff sparingly - just a nice light smear works AWESOME!! As with all sealants, make sure every thing is oil free and clean, smear both halves with a light smear, let dry to tacky (dont take long - be ready) to slip it together... Lots and lots of old - came OEM pre-70's oil leakers left my shop as a "WOW - NEVER KNEW NORTON MADE A BIKE THAT DIDNT LEAK" motorcycle because of Yamabond #4 !
  8. Prayers Up and Blessings Down Kat!! Wishing Mike all the best in the GREATEST of outcomes on his surgery!!
  9. I'd be making a cassette copy of: to jam into my official Yamaha Cassette Deck.. Crank er up and be screaming - NOW BRING ON THOSE HARLEY V-ROD RIDING IMPERIAL STORM TROOPERS - PUC AND HIS YAMAHA MINIATURE MILLENIUM FALCON ARE HUNTING FOR YA BABY!!! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAWWWWWWWWW!! :bikersmilie: Out a whooping on em and not even have to use the force!!!!!
  10. and now perhaps the most arcane reason of all to go - its the reason that has proven to have given me some of the most deeply satisfying fun when traveling cross country on Tweeks with Tip, one of my kids or even by myself.. Gonna sound a little goofy but that's ok, I know I am among friends here so I can say it and not get in to much trouble... Ready? I THINK I WILL GO THAT WAY CAUSE I AINT NEVER BEEN THAT WAY BEFORE There, I said it and guess what,, I really aint never have been to no WNY Rally before and would LOVE to finally make one.. If your reading this and your a newbie to our group of lop eared varmints, have never been to one of our rally's and even remotely considering it I would encourage you to make the leap and head attaway - take the plunge cause,,, well,, cause why not head that way cause you aint never been that way before? I'm really tired,, been a long day,,,,,, did any of what I just typed make any sense:duck:
  11. Shooot brother,,,, dont let no salesman trying to get more money out of your pocket steal the joy between you and your new bike - it's not worth it my friend.. Try to remember that your gorgeous new scoot is an innocent bystander in all their nonsense.. It didnt choose to be sent to that dealership,, it is innocent I tell ya,,, INNOCENT!! Go into the dealership tomorrow, tell them thanks for standing by the original agreement and that you are very glad to know that you are dealing with an honest dealership. Tell them you belong to a HUGE Yamaha club that highly respects good dealerships and that you will let people know how they chose to follow ethical business practices by honoring the initial deal.. As hard as it may be, say it all in a spirit of thankfulness.. After you check your new bike out closely to make sure it was put together properly, shake a few hands in the back room and thank them for work. Ask a few questions and see if you can a feel for their knowledge. Leave the place with a good feeling in the air.. Go a few blocks from the dealership, stop and tell your new scoot that it is in a good hands now.. Take some time alone with your new scoot admiring her shear beauty - dont be afraid to openly compliment pieces and parts that stand out to you (new scoots are delicate, ya gotta remember they have no prior owner and may be a little timid). Start the bonding process out by giving her a name.. Remember brother,, salesman like the one you just left back at that dealership are dime a dozen (hope you realize what happened is really not uncommon) and your new scoot is one in a million cause it is yours!!! Oh,,, one more thing. 's,,,, 's 's 's:big-grin-emoticon:

  13. OUTSTANDING JSB!!!!!:clap2::clap2::dancefool: Hopefully you nailed it - sounds very very likely that you did!!! Just a quick note here to anybody with a 1st Gen reading this thread.. The first thing that popped into my mind when I started reading JSB's post was "wonder if he tried disconnecting his speedo" because I have been almost squealed out of the saddle by the surprise squeal of a dry speedo/cable.. Then I came to my senses that we were talking a 2nd Gen here - totally different animal so I didnt say anything.. Just thought I would stick this note up here in case a new comer to the the wonderful world of Venture riding happened to read this - didnt want one of them to head down the wrong path if they hear a SQQQUUUEEEEAAAL - 1st Gens are far more likely to develop a dry speedo than a dry rad fan - IMHO of course.. WONDERFUL NEWS JSB!! Hope you have a wonderful trip out there!! PS: 's please.. (thought you were gonna get away with something didnt cha:big-grin-emoticon:
  14. I really really like WD cause it always seems to be friendly to internal motor stuff, its light enough to fling around to find the dry spots and it allow conductivity to electrical stuff like brushes and armatures and all that.. You dont really have to be to concerned with getting to much fluid flying around inside the motor,, way I always figured it.. Not only that, but WD seems to also be fairly easy to wash off should you get it on other parts if you try what I did.. Of course, if your gonna take it apart then yea,, I would go with something a little more wholesome.. Maybe pick up a can of spray chain lube, the kind that goes on liquid and ends up real sticky.. Or even some spray "White Grease".. Worth a shot brother.. Never did try to actually rebuild one,, if its not spot welded together it may not be that big of deal to slip some new bearings in it or even remove the dust shields on the bearings and pack em with grease..
  15. QUICK,, hide the ice cream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WASSUP BIG TOM? Perfect timing,, its almost RIDE TIME brother!!!
  16. Aint life on the road just filled with adventure JSB? I had one do something similar years ago,, made a worst noise than a second grader scratchin a chalk board.. I didnt even bother removing the fan, I took a long skinny screw driver and the end of ratchet and nocked a hole in the plastic on the back of the motor large enough to get the straw for a can of WD 40 into it, then I purchased one of those small cans of WD from a Dollar store and squirted WD into the motor. Didnt take long at all and the motor quieted right down and worked fine and lasted a long time.. Figured what da heck what da hay, better than having that squealing motor trying to tell me how hot it was out there in the desert heat. No idea what the fan on your 2nd is like - whether or not its similar in build to one on a 1st Gen - but I would look it over real close and see if you could do the same OR take it apart and sneak some lube into the bearings..
  17. Lop eared biker teasing no 's sharing Canuckian varmint!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only two more days and we FINALLY get to see and hear all about it - RIGHT:mad:? Congrats brother! Cant WAIT to see what your getting!!

  19. Never had the pleasure of owning one Cheesy but I do know from talking to Beemer riders that some of the BMW's came with issue's that were pricey to repair.. You may want to google that particular model and see if what you can find out before plopping down the bucks.. I know I have heard of ABS issues and drive shaft issues somewhere back in that time frame.. Have also heard that Beemer shops seem to be a little more pricey than other shops if you need to take it in BUT - I have no idea if that is just a rumor or if its factual.. I do know I rode a Beemer part way out to Lake Placid one time back in that era and found it to be an amazing bike - it was VERY comfortable, got amazing MPG's and WOW did it scoot - put a whoopin on my 1st Gen!! Just might not be a bad idea to do a little digging before ya jump in is all..
  20. ""Dang..... So Puc who ya gonna pick on now? "" = EVERYBODY and especially Freebird cause he aint got no motorcycle now:duck:.. Hey Don,, ya wanna try something fun while your waiting for the "we gotta ride long distance" bug to kick back in? You ought to consider an old Shovel or Pan or something.. Owning Olivia was an amazing experience, learning to ride a tank shifter was inspiring to say the least - the learning curve took me right back to being a kid again = what a BLAST!! What da heck brother,, maybe even keep an eye open for a really cool high piped 2 stroke Yamaha twin or something just to buzz around on.. Toss some sweet smelling Klotz in it so when we follow you into town for dinner we can all sample some memories of days long gone by!! Talking about about picking up another RSV,, I have ALWAYS liked the looks of the Millenium RSV's. I been over that one in our classifieds since the day it was posted.. Scoots only got 20k on it and it's a 2 owner bike for 5k - not bad at all.. I LOVE bike shopping my friend, talk about a BLAST!! I have also noticed a LOT of great deals out there on the new Indian's.. Saw a brand new 2014 left over the other day with an asking price of 14,500 - they are gorgeous.. Not to compete with Marcarl in his ability to ramble on but I also noticed something else in the ad for the Millenium - the poster wrote something about a bike hauler running a Spring special for hauling a bike cross country.. I did a little checking and found out that company will deliver a scoot anywhere in the lower states for 450 bucks - not bad!! Never did call em and see if that was a total price or not (fuel charge?) but sure had me thinking about grabbing something out of California or Florida (seems like thats always where the best deals are).. CONGRATS to the person that ended up with that great big gorgeous Road Glide of yours Don! Hopefully you also tossed in a membership to the site here so we can keep track of your bike!! If he does show up I PROMISE to be good and not tease em:think:,, to much:innocent:

  22. There is a young lady from the Land Of Oz, and all her VR friends wonder where she was. She came to the States and went for a ride, with her husband Al right by her side. They visited their friends both far and near, but it's been a while since they've seen her here. Time slipped away as time always does, but we look for her now and not just because. A special day is upon us now, we must find that young lady somehow. An important message awaits that Miss, cause to Aussie Annie we say HAPPY BIRTHDAY Sis!! :Happy Birthday::Happy Birthday::Happy Birthday::Happy Birthday::Happy Birthday::Happy Birthday:@AussieAnnie, hope your having a GREAT Birthday where ever you are!!!
