  1. Hmmm,,,, yep,, probably means ya got a float needle letting fuel by and over filling the bowl.. Kind of strange though cause there is an overflow line that empties under the bike in front of the swing arm that should be dripping long before the bowl over fills to the point that fuel will come out of the main jet/metering rod orvice.... Probably sounds crazy but it seems like the probability of this happening has gone up since all the alcohol has been added to fuel - got a hunch that alcohol has an ill effect on float needles or something..
  2. Well,, I know one of my favorite all time great lop eared VR varmints of all time, @rbig1, is from the great corn state of Iowa.. He rides a 2nd Gen and loves to pick on,, I mean loves to contribute to the :stickpoke:around here.. I also know that Orlin and Sharon live not to far away from all that corn.. One of their family members told me that as soon as he (the family member named "Moe") gets his drivers license, he is gonna steal one of Or's bikes and head for Iowa cause he loves corn. And then there's @Flyinfool and his Wisconsin White Washer - Fool lives not far from Iowa either - surprised you didnt know that as he is responsible for all that nasty white stuff you folks get.. I am not to far away from Iowa myself but tend to stay in Michigan since I discovered Michigans abundance of Hot Dog crops.. Michigan Hot Dog fields are just starting to bloom and it looks like a bumper crop this year:guitarist 2:.. Hot Dogs are a little better tasting than field corn and easier to digest than field corn...
  3.,, THANKS YAMAGRL!!!
  4. Air pressures, oil and fuel,, trunk full of hotdogs!
  5. WOW ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ WOW WOW WOW - GOTTA AGREE WITH BIGLENNY ON THIS ONE - THAT SHAAAWEEEETHEART HOLD'S TON'S OF COVETING POWER :178::178:!!!! Now I gotta do some googling and check out the specs on that beautiful machine.. I LOVE the looks of cylinder degree placement on it Shmily,, it appears to carry its weight lower with the jugs laid forward like that - different but I LOVE it!! Seems like that would be amazing in the twisties!! It also appears to be lower slung in the saddle giving it that "sitting in the bike instead of sitting on it" feel? I am sure it is a totally different feel that your Venture but, IMHO,, after few thousand miles of touring time under your belt on that gorgeous machine I got a gut feeling that the only time your not going to be is when your not on your new bike!!!! BEAUTIFUL!!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

  10. Copy/paste is the only way I know of... Highlight the text you wanna put here (if using a mouse you put the cursor at the end of the text - hold down on the left button and roll the mouse to highlight - if using a touch pad on a laptop you place the cursor, hold down on left pad button and move your finger across the pad to highlight), after highlighting release the left button and move the cursor anywhere inside of the highlighted area, right click and a window will appear with "copy" in it, click on "copy".. Now come to VR, go to the spot you want to post the e-mail, place your cursor where you want the e-mail to appear, right click and that box will appear again - click on "paste" this time and bingo - done deal!! Another way would be to forward the email to me and I could post it for you - be happy to do so..
  11. 50 mpg? After repairing the case damage, pulling the carbs (talk about a job) and going thru them, syncing her out and some new plugs - Tip and I took this one out for a test ride (couple days of chasing the wind).. Riding back roads (non-ickspressway stuff), probably averaging 60 mph but riding 2 up the whole time we averaged 62 MPG - I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT!!! About the same MPG as our 250cc Honda Helix gets!! Got yakking with the guy I got it from and says "oh yea,, I NEVER got below 50 mpg with it" - UNREAL!! You got a DANDY scoot there brother!! Better get that little one to give it a name so it feels like part of the family ("goo goo" would make an AWESOME bike name)
  12. Wonder how they have withstood the test of time... Been seeing lots of em (06 - 07ish) out there at pretty good prices too... Ever ride one?
  13. Be thouest careful for which thou wisheth,, for thou never knowest what tomorrow mayest bringeth forth Do I detect a trail leading from the backside of that modern day restroom that may lead to a perfect spot to catch a few zzzz's too?? Definitely a classy set up compared to some of the places our little Menards tent has found itself planted at!!
  14. Speaking about scoots with coffee can sized pistons,,, whats the recent scuttlebutt on the Strats - Roadliners - Raider with the 1900cc motor? Heard or know anything about em? Be seeing a fair number of em out there with low mileage for pretty good prices... Wonder how they are heat wise and durability..

  16. Thinking (and hoping) Sys was referring to that 2000cc monster Kawi built for a short time Don... Sucker must of had pistons the size of 5 pound coffee can ... https://www.google.com/search?q=kawasaki+2000+vulcan&tbm=isch&imgil=1qjI0diJ5T4izM%253A%253BJ9JwmQtyZLc5jM%253Bhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.topspeed.com%25252Fmotorcycles%25252Fmotorcycle-reviews%25252Fkawasaki%25252F2010-kawasaki-vulcan-2000-classic-lt-ar72746.html&source=iu&pf=m&fir=1qjI0diJ5T4izM%253A%252CJ9JwmQtyZLc5jM%252C_&usg=__acuDXKVx1rMKIIBz-9OVZOPlzR4%3D&biw=1280&bih=699&ved=0ahUKEwjpsbKu8c3MAhXGSyYKHeBYBXsQyjcIJg&ei=NPowV-nHAsaXmQHgsZXYBw#imgrc=1qjI0diJ5T4izM%3A:o
  17. Hey Sys,, any chance that big Kawi had a hidden "drip screw" somewhere to check the oil with? Reason I ask is that I had a number of dirtbikes thru the years that used a drip screw method for checking the oil - basically you just remove a little bolt (whose hole is drilled thru the case at the proper oil level) - add oil till it drips out of the hole and your good to go.. Just wondered cause it would be just like Kawi to use this simple method.. Also,, what were the recalls on those great big beautiful scoots? Any other ideosyncresies you know of you would like to share concerning them? I always liked em and, should the chance pop up to grab one cheap it would be fun to own one...
  18. Do the 2nd Gens have a "mute" button of some sorts?
  19. Was gonna summons @skydoc_17 to this conversation Brat but was able to locate his ad in the classifieds that does a pretty good detailed response to your question.. Someday I may try his upgrade myself just to find out what a good running 1st Gen with a GOOD clutch really does perform like!! Give this a look over - have heard LOTS of great feedback by following Earls path here: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/photopost/showproduct.php?product=61&title=first-gen-mki-heavy-duty-clutch-springs-upgrade-kit&cat=17

  24. For many many years I had the local top notched, modern day, fully certified and completely tooled up local Dealerships sending me alllll their old age "junk" (their words - not mine) bikes that came in for ignition work if they had points ignition cause no one in their back room understood points ignition - I would tell em "those kids working in your back room need to go back to school and be taught a few things about the finer art of working on motorcycles" (my words - not theirs).. You and I may forget who we are at times DanL' but at least we remember the important things in life like points ignition and who's the REAL boss in our marriages:Bunny: Sorry for the Sea Puppy - flaw in my character and all that...
  25. SAWWWWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET FIND THEIR BROTHER!!!!!!:clap2::dancefool::dancefool::thumbsup: I LOVE that color combo and WOWZY,, talk about a low mileage scoot !! Ya done good Darrin - REALLY REALLY GOOD!!!:clap2:
