  6. ,,, good eye Mate!!! Ya got me!! I couldnt remember an Elvis song where he mentioned being good with the babies and old Ladies being invited,, he was more about "Girls,, Girls,, Girls" (I'm just a red blooded boy and I cant stop thinking about girlsss) and then came thru loud and clear:big-grin-emoticon: Dont mind me Kiwi - us 60's survivors are fortunate to remember the tunes - much less who sang em :crackup::crackup: I wish you could be here for one of these Hot Dog gatherings too Mate,, you would LOVE what this is all about !!
  7. Hey Chocking,, sure as beans sounds like the one way valve in the tank vent went on vacation.. Last time I had that happen it was while traveling cross country on a beat up old Venture I pulled the right side cover (opposite side of fuel pump location) removed the one way valve sitting right on the down spar of the frame, took the body of Bic Ink Pen (white plastic tubing) and spliced the hoses together - WORKED AWESOME and kept us from dieing in the desert .. Could also be a plugged petcock... Speaking of plugged petcocks,, you ever pull the cover that the sending unit that hangs down into the fuel tank is attached to and look into your tank? If its not the tank vent and ends up being a petcock problem - pull that cover (its under the seat) and take a peek - may have a bunch of stuff in your tank causing issues..
  8. I was talking to Elvis today about tomorrows Meet Greet and Eat Meat ( click here if you didnt hear about that one = http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?120045-Well-it-s-1-for-da-money-2-for-da-show-3-da-get-ready-and-4-da-go-to-a-Puc-s-MGnEM ) and I asked him if he felt up to doing another show this week.. Elv (we are good buddies,, I get to call him Elv) said he had pretty much shake, rattle and rolled the stiffness off he was feeling for a while there and thought he could handle another round this week.. This 2nd Puc's MGnEM will be held in a really cool little town in Northern Michigan known to us older bullet tossing, Venture Riding, Michigan Deer Hunting, Dirtbike Riding and Snowmobiling freaks as Jerkyville ( they make the best and widest variety of jerky known to man there:fatsmiley:)!! Known to others as the town of Dublin and, apparently known to map makers as the town of Wellston cause that's the name used in the address - never knew that.. I just did a Mapquest on the address I am posting here and the address provided here will get you right to our rally point!! I personally know the area like the back of hand - having spent countless hours getting lost in the woods up there - so if you need directions just PM me or,, if your not embarrassed to admit you don't do maps (I dont - I just follow my front wheel and I always end up where I want to go but I am gifted), you can openly ask on here.. I happen to know that @ragtop69gs knows that area really well too (he probably knows the roads up there better than me, I am more familiar with the trees and other deep woods land marks and how to survive off eating worms) and I just bet he would be glad to help with directions if necessary.. Date of this 2nd Puc's MGnEM: June 3rd, 2016 Time: 1pm Eastern Standard Time Rally Point Address: 18349 Hoxeyville Rd., Wellston Mi 49689 ALL WELCOME - COME HUNGRY - LEAVE FULL = HOT DOGS FOR EVERYONE!!! Oh yea,, and dont forget your Blue Swede Shoes!!!!!

  13. Speaking of new Mowers Don,, was helping my neighbor pull a de-splined drive shaft out of his Cub Cadet last Friday.. While I was down there he mentioned just going and picking up a new one,,,, thought he was talking about a driveshaft!!! Not so much.... He and I had a ball spinning donuts with it and then his wife took over to get the work done After checking around he found out that Husqvarna seemed to be the most reasonable price for value - he did look at several other models but in the end ended up with this Husky.. I think he said its an MZT 52.. Price was well below 6k.. Dont know if this applies nation wide but he also said that they (Husqvarna) has some kind of a "special 6 point deal" going right now.. The way it works is you get 3 points for purchasing the tractor. Then other "points" for purchasing anything else from Husky.. Gather 6 points and you save 20% of the total cost of everything combined.. He ended up with a bagger/leaf vac attachment, wheeled weed eater and something else that I cant remember,,,,,,, all for less than the original cost of the tractor! Thought I best pass this on brother!!!
  14. Looking at Tooches ride map I betcha those wet riding clothes are starting to dry out pretty good about now!!! Drink lots of water brother and check your riding boots for scorpions before you slip your tootsies in there

  18. Not seeing what bike you are talking about I am assuming you are talking a carbed, non catalytic Venture or the equivilent here Holly? If thats so, I say no problemo,, have done it myself more than once.. Not a bad idea to use it conservatively and only put the amount in that you think will get you to a gas station to top it off though.. The reason I say that is I always figured that adding oil in the fuel replaces fuel molecules and then when air/fuel mix happens it will probably come out a little lean - enough so that you wont want to run long distance without fattening the jetting up if you were gonna run a lot of premix but I have had to run a gallon or two for medicinal purposes (what you are referring to as an emergency) with no ill effect.. Had a buddy accidently add diesel fuel - that you dont ant to do!! By the way,,, back in my MXing days I got hooked on the sweet smell of Klotz bean oil in my 2 stroke race bikes (wowzy that was a long time ago - wonder if Klotz is still in existence).. Later I was known to add a little Klotz into my Harleys and other 4 strokes just for the smell of it... I used to love pulling into a Harley rallys and watch the noses whiffing the air Most, if not all, of the two stroke oils are low carbon - low ash these days so you should have no concern with carbon build up but if we are talking an efi/cat scoot here then I still wouldnt do it - no idea how friendly the two stroke mix would be on a converter or how the efi system would read the mix - might screw something up.. Thats my ,, know lets see what the guru's come up with
  19. Comingback, I TOTALLY understand where your coming from.. Jay ( @ragtop69gs ) has not been able to make a Hot Dog run with us either because of work responsibilities.. I love to tease Raggy cause I love him (thats why I responded like I did to him ), the fact is - I spoke with Jay earlier this year and told him I am planning to do at least one weekender and at least one evening outing.. Hopefully doing so will give you guys a chance to come out and enjoy the frenzy!!! All the best in getting the scoot ready for Don's MD - THAT event is a RIOT!! Still not feeling the best here either brother so I know where your coming from. Thoughts and Prayers Up on kicking the chest cold to the curb Bongo!! Would have LOVED to have made it to Carl's this year but it didnt work out either.. Hopefully summer warmth will get us both feeling better!! Hope you know you guys are all welcome - would LOVE to finally get to meet Mr. Wizard and thank him in person for his recent help with my computer and give you a big ol too brother!! Hoping and planning on doing a number of these shin digs throughout the ride season - keep an eye on the still waters of the Watering Hole and when you see the ripples of a MGnEM that looks good - set the hook and hang on
  20. WOW ZZZZZZZZ WOW WOW WOW - NICE OUTFIT!! Took a look around the Husky site brother and did not see a lot of "bling" offered .. Seriously though Don, that is a good looking machine. No idea if this is applicable to present times but it used to be that Briggs motors had bushings for bearings and Kohlers were actual bearings. If that is still the case that might be the reason for the higher dollar.. Was talking to @bj66 last year at the Pie Butt 26.2 about his tractors.. He was telling me about running programmable controls to steer the tractors in their fields.. Not positive but it almost sounded like he could program in what needed to be done and let the tractor go to work.. Probably pretty pricey just for mowing the grass but that was one of the first things that popped into my mind when Bernie told me about how they farm now adays - sure sounded inviting.. If the truth was known,, I prefer CONCRETE - been saying it for years - spending all day racing go carts would be a whole lot more in tune with my inner being than cutting grass ever has been:guitarist 2: THANKS for all the hard work your doing getting ready for MD Boss!!
  21. Good on ya Jamsie:clap2:,nothing like riding for a good cause!! Thoughts and Prayers Up for safety for you and all the participants and for a good turn out for your first Memorial ride! Heres to many many more to come!! PS - off shore VR members are required to follow the same forum rules that the rest of us are suppose to abide by.. Just giving you a heads up my friend, the are out hot and heavy this time of year watching carefully for pictures of ALL members and their scoots out having fun:big-grin-emoticon: PS, PS - Fast Freddie is admired greatly over here too,, double  from the for obtaining a shot or two of him brother!! Have fun out there!!!
  22. Hey Arb,, I am probably wrong on this but it appears to me that the two pics you have posted are of 2 different tires - correct? Assuming that is the case, the tire in the first pic is for use in a "tube" application only. The tire in the second pic is useable in either application but must include using a tube with the tire if the "fitment" calls for a tube (meaning your mounting onto a non tubeless rim - usually meaning spokes) and will work fine on a tubeless rim like our Ventures. I once had this discussion while traveling cross country and in need of a tire.. The shop I was at wanted to sell me a tire marked as in your 1st picture.. After turning em down and telling them I would look elsewhere they offered to stuff a tube in the tire to satisfy my disagreeing with using the tire marked for "tube" use only. Went down the road and found a "tubeless" tire to put on my "tubeless" wheel,, no idea if all that was necessary but I figured anything I could do to avoid a blow out on one of my bike tires was worth the effort cause bringing one of these great big heavy scoots to a stop when a tire goes is not that much fun Consider me +1 to going and getting the correct tire mounted - thats what I would do!
