Know EXACTLY how ya feel brother!!! Been there enough times that I am surprised Tippy don't nickname me "The Cat In The Hat"...

GOT THAT RIGHT BROTHER!!!! My left hand repair has been sidelined until they can figure out some more of this heart related stuff - like dog chasing his tail I tell ya.. Our original GP left her practice unannounced (I literally walked into her office for an appointment to update her on my right hand repair therapy and was notified she had permanently left the practice the day before) and we now have a new GP who I have seen 3 times.. That appointment last Monday drew my new doctors attention back to my heart... Just crazy BUT - like you Beastwood - it is soooo nice to know that God has it alll in his control!

Been down right insane around here.. Last weekend,, I had my choice between E.R. during the weekend or to the Dr. on Monday (Tip can be downright cantankerous when she has to be). Dr. visit on Monday resulted in a bunch of blood test last Thursday and a bunch of imaging stuff for this Thursday and another Stress test this Friday. Then my Harley riding buddy (the one I built the Harley Trike with) started having some very similar issues to what I have been dealing with decided he should go in and get checked so he went in.. They ended up finding out he had come down with the "Widow Maker" heart blockage (98% blockage - the surgeon told us 2% more and he would be a goner) and ended up with a stint being put in on Fathers Day - got the call early Sunday morning.. Just came from my buddies house,, he looks GREAT for all he has been thru.. I am SOOOO thankful that my friend is gonna be ok. The saga continues..

I like YamaBond, have used a fair amount of #5 thru the years - always did fine by me (in a pinch - works AWESOME for sealing holes in carb diaphrams too).. What ever you use, clean surfaces are mandatory.. Also, be careful about not over applying - you dont wanna get pieces of sealant in the oil system..

Didnt know you got that 1st Gen finished Bongo I LOVE that wonderful dry desert heat,,, BEAUTIFUL riding.. Gotta say though,, 120 = WOWZY that is warm.. Tip n I night rode Death Valley a few years ago (there is NOTHING like night riding the Valley in a full moon - 104 degrees with no sun on your back is AWESOME) - got really low on gas and ended up sleeping next to the pumps at a gas station out there.. We ended up not getting out of the park till afternoon when it was 124 degrees, bumped into one of our nations finest sitting outside of another fuel station dressed in his military garb.. Tip mentioned it being a tad warm as we were running into the air conditioned station,, that young man laughed and said "this actually cool compared to where I just came home from :scared:" !! We slid over (our shoes were melting on the tarmac) and shook his hand and thanked him for his service in protecting our way of life - THEN IT WAS A SLIPPERY MAD DASH FOR THAT AIR CONDITIONING In a brazen attempt at hi-jacking another of your threads Video,, gotta ask.... I have always loved riding the desert and have ridden a fair amount on the hot tarmac thereof.. To this day I have yet to find a brand of rear tire whose rubber doesnt seem to end up on the back of our saddlebags... You or any of you other desert rat varmints discovered a tire that is more "desert friendly" in that way?

Horsepower to weight ratio's and wind resistance are huge factors on scoots - cars too really.. Strap a couple 50 pound bags of salt on the back of that sweetheart and give it try.. Another impact to "feeling" the HP has to do with how the scoot makes its power on a dyno.. I may be wrong on this but it seems like I read some place that the RSTC V-4 did not have balance shafts,, probably wrong but if I am right - balance shafts actually change the delivery and have a tendency to take the "snap" feel away.. Ever notice how quickly a modern MX bike will get it's R's? They hit hard! When I was racing dirt bikes years ago I would put flywheel weights on them to tame them down if I were woods racing (Enduro's) and remove them if hitting the track.. About the same horse power on a dyno but the delivery curve as totally different. Balance shafts have a similar effect as they are basically adding weight to the crank to balance it.. :think:Of course I could be totally wrong on ALL that,,,, I only say that because all the 83's I have had have been faster than any of the other year Ventures I know of and they are only 90 HP, are fully fairinged, bagged, have balanced motors AND, loading em down and riding two up dont seem to slow em down a bit!

Ohhhh,,,,, now I get it,,,,, so THATS where everybody went .... Looks like Tip n I missed a dandy ,,,,, hopefully next time around we will be able to attend!!!!!!! Thanks Mama for the GORGEOUS 's! and your's too Leo!!

Whats this bookmarking business YG? You mean I been trying to remember all this stuff in my scrambled egg brain for nuttin sister?? Oh please,, tell me its not so :bang head::bang head::bang head: By the way,, you got no monopoly on the unintentional putting out misinformation routine YG - now THAT I am a GURU at !!! One REALLY great thing around this place - when one of us does accidently slip up, we usually got each others backs enough that in the end - whoever asked the question somehow ends up getting the help they need... ,,,,,, ,,,, something just occurred to me,,,,,,,, wonder if that's what my Dad was talking about when he used to say "two heads are better than one",,,,,,,,,, I always thought he was wishing I was born a siamese twin or something.....

No idea if it's applicable cause all I know about are 1st Gen's BUT - as the kickstand on a 1st Gen wears at the joint where it meets the frame it will increase the lean of the bike and indeed - they can get heavy when that lean increases.. Might not be a bad idea to check the kickstand and see how much play there is in the joint where it mounts to the frame,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, unless the 2nd Gens have a funky kickstand like on the Harley's that will scare the living daylights out of a new Harley owner who doesnt know its suppose to "cam in" after you release the bike:big-grin-emoticon: -

Indeed - it could make a significant difference and help with diagnoses.. Might not be a bad idea to take a peek at the swing arm bushings and rear shock linkages - maybe the extra weight is helping secure them if there is movement down there.. Also shake down the rear wheel - make sure the bearings are in good shape... Never had this happen (knock on my wooden head) and have no idea if it's applicable but I have also heard of frame breakage on some of the 83's, I believe the area they crack and separate is relative to the rear shock somehow - maybe do a little digging and find the posts like @VenturousRandy has made about repairing that puppy - might not be a bad idea to take a peek at that too.. I suppose it would be possible that the added weight also changes the dymanics of the neck bearings - maybe loading the rear more or something - could still be related to the neck bearings,, possibly.. Another thought,,, play with the amount of air you have in your rear shock - may have to much air in it for one up!! I just noticed something,,,,, are we talking about a "shimmy" or is it "swimmy" like it wants to wonder on the surface of the road? LOTS of us MK1 1st Genners have fought the infamous 40mph "shimmy" - where if you lightly hold the bars at 40 mph and the front end starts to shimmy/shake/wobble - I LOVE to stand up and ride no handed but NEVER trust one of these bikes at that speed (higher or lower is fine) with out my hands on the bars.. If that is what we are talking about - I have found rebuilding the front forks (new bushings) REALLY helped with this in my case but I still never really learned to be totally reliant on em - kind of a nature of the beast on my 1st Gens. New front tire helps too,, fork brace may help too (got one on my "new" one),, perfect balancing of the tire,, Progressive springs if your fork springs are OEM (these are a MUST anyway) and fresh fork oil.. -

Have used large syringes from the local Ag store (Farm n Fleet) for years for the same purpose Digger - gotta agree with ya = work great for both flushing carbs and for brake work - handy little suckers (pun intended) that are cheap enough to toss when the rubber seal gets icky -
The engine-oooity, imagineering around this place is just uncanny at times - good one Yamagrl!!

Question for the more experienced riders out there.
cowpuc replied to GAWildKat's topic in Watering Hole
I always carry em in my wallet too but have a big rat trap in the pouch that those important papers are in cause only a RAT would do something like they did to my friend Storm Raven!!!!:bang head::bang head::bang head: On the same token,, I have a really close friend that has a CCW and packs a 9mm - not sure but I have a hunch that he would rather shoot them nasty rats than snap their rotten little necks in a rat trap!! Hopefully it ends up being nothing more than some bored punk kids Tricia = I almost feel sorry for the crook who takes it to the next level once a Georgia Wild Cat got done with em:happy34: -
