Thanks Bongo:thumbsup:!! Here's where I am at now that we discovered I have the lower stuff.. After testing about 7:30pm tonight and finding it at 71 I read to take a tablespoon of Honey and eat something so I did - Honey at 8:15 - couple burgers at 8:30.. I also read to recheck it in 2 hours.. My buddy who just had a heart stint put in called - we went down and sat in his garage and got talking bikes,, of course.. Was feeling ok, able to concentrate and focus somewhat. At 10:15, while sitting in his garage I could feel myself sliding again, tired/blurry eyes/tingly/real dingy.. Shot home and took another test = 68 this time.. On the list of things other than Honey was 1/2 cup Orange Juice and then test in 45 minutes. Picked up some OJ (NO VODKA SO DONT EVEN GO THERE), did the half cup at 11:05, gonna check it again soon,, right now feeling a little better... If I feel better and the reading is up, the site I got the info from said to try Glucose Tablets.. May go into town, pick up some of those at the local pharmacy (if they are over the counter?) and try to chase this thing up to 150 and see how I feel - kind of a pre doctor science experiment!!

Well I soared thru that mess with flying colors,,,, todays stress test went so well that I didnt have to go thru the second part. I dont see my GP until next week but the guy who did the stress test said I had NO sign of blockages,, NO Widow Maker looking stuff and hopefully NO stint like my buddy had to have !!! I know I have sic sinus (heart skips I beat once in a while) but they still say that is fine.. On the other side of the coin lays the fact they still dont have a clue (bunch of other test were done this week so I probably should not say that) why I am so tired, hard time focusing and feel icky,,,, arggg... To celebrate the good news, Tip and I took the new scoot out for a short ride to continue breaking it in.. When we left I was feeling at about 60%.. About have way thru a couple hour ride I got feeling really tired again, hard to focus, tired and lathargic.. As we were headed home Tip mentioned hearing something about blood sugar causing stuff like I have been struggling with the last couple years.. Thats one of the few things that havent been checked, picked up a cheapy monitor and just checked it = 71.. Did a quick google and found out that is a little low.. The site that said it was low recommended eating a tablespoon of honey, eat something and check it again in an hour or so.. Just did the honey and now eating a Hamburger .. Be really interesting if all this stuff was related to Blood Sugar or something... Wonder if Diabetes can happen with age,, seems like at my age I would have had it long ago if ever...

,,, PRAYERS UP FOR YOU GUYS AND ALL THOSE INVOLVED IN THIS CRISIS!!!

Yep,, thinking Fool might be onto it Jamsie.. Seems like if you were actually loosing fluid and not just depleting the res to brake pad wear you would notice it big time in an inability to maintain good pressure on the system when you step on the brake - hold down on the pedal or squeeze the brake lever if we were talking front brakes and if it holds pressure - no leak.. Take a peek at those pads - you might be surprised at what you will find!!

Help Me Solve My Dilemma (aka somebody make my mind up for me)
cowpuc replied to SilvrT's topic in Watering Hole
I am with Jeff on this one,,, just seems like you might be giving ol Murph a real advantage Silv.. Also seems like if ya got those kind of thoughts rattling around in the back of your mind it would take away from the enjoyment/relaxation of spending time out enjoying life.. You are touching on one of the main reasons I have been riding old 1st Gen's with no second gear all this time though.. I have always liked the freedom of being able to just leave the scoot , hitch hike home and buy another 700 dollar bike and go back at it if I cant fix it BUT - that was/is more about break downs than accidents.. Seriously brother,, if your having a hard time getting past a feeling of impending doom or really concerned about crashing - losing a few bucks on the bikes would be the absolute last thing I would worry about - especially if I were gonna be having my gorgeous Tippy on the back (or anyone else for that matter).. Now if we/I am totally misreading your thread here and it's nothing more than worrying about losing a few bucks,,, I would talk to Nina and see what her feelings are about actually riding once ya get to the party.. If she really has interest and wants to spend some time riding (life dont get no better than that),, I would have that gorgeous Vic strapped into the trailer so fast the neighbors would think we were having a 5 star fire alarm .. If not,, cover the Vic, take the Roadie and ride it like ya stole it (ya will have to if there happens to be a 1st Gen Venture at the party and ya wanna keep up - sorry brother, fingers are feeling frisky).. Either way,, hope you folks have a BLAST out there!!! -
Finally got it detailed

Tuning the progressive springs.
cowpuc replied to Flyinfool's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I found 3/4 inch preload, 12.5wt Bell Ray and no air on my progressives to be PERFECT but I am taller and better looking then Fool, Randy and Bongo... The End -

Toothpics or tie wraps? So Roller,, is that Zuma the sound system/gps or is it something similar to some of these new scoots who have something like that on em that do everything except put gas in the bike at the gas station while your using the boys room? Tip and I test rode/demoed a new water cooled HD Ultra a couple years ago with something like that on it.. We took off, come to a corner, voice from that box say's "turn left" - we did,, leaned back and told Tippy the dealership must have programmed the demo course into that thang. Says turn right - we did. Says turn left - we did.. 1/2 hour later we came to a dirt road intersection, thang says "turn right" (onto a old two track) - I stopped and told the thang "if we're going down there I need to shoot home and get my tent :missingtooth:".. Back tracked to the HD shop, guy was MAD - thought we stole his bike!! Told him what happend - he looked at the other guys handling their Demo Days - they started laughing and then he told me they tried and tried to figure out how to shut that thang off cause they KNEW someone would make the mistake of confusing it's instructions with the paint they had put on the road for "demo markers"...

WOW ZZZZZ WOW WOW WOW - NICE MAX = REAL NICE!!:clap2::dancefool::dancefool: 10-4 D!! Be interesting to hear from folks who have ran those dual compounds of which you speak in the heat out there,, sounds like you may be onto something! My "M.O." has always been a rear tire out and a rear tire back, mainly due to the hot tarmac coating the back of my scoot with rubber - be pretty cool to find something that would make a complete 2 month trip out and back!! Know what you mean about the Shinko's - GOOD tires at a reasonable price!! Tweeks sister has Avon's on her,, I can not WAIT to give em a long distance try and see how Avon's do in the hot, dry, wonderful sunshiny HEAT of Az, Utah, Cali, Nevada, Montana, Wy, SD and so forth and so on

Goat, aint never had rotator cuff surgery but back in the MX track riding days I had a few buddies end up having to have it done. Know from that experience that because of the low blood flow to that area it takes a while to heal properly - if memory serves, 3 months is not uncommon.. It also seems like doing the physical therapy is a huge help.. Perhaps if we got someone like @Barrycuda involved in this conversation he could shed some light on the subject,, hey Bar - what say you? If Barry is not wanting to give a professional opinion (sometimes Dr.'s like Barry have to be careful about giving internet opinions), perhaps asking around at our local Sports Medicine/Physical Therapy shop will reveal some interesting facts as I am pretty sure that rotator cuff injuries are not that uncommon in Baseball and Football.. Just some thoughts! Either way, my thoughts and Prayers Up brother - hope you get the results your looking for!!

 = ingenious Jamsie,, flat out INGENIOUS!! ,,,, try finding ice cubes while crossing the Utah desert on a motorcycle adventure with an 8 year old who, just after getting the tent set up way back in the Utah mountains, announces her bubble gum is stuck in her hair :big-grin-emoticon::big-grin-emoticon::big-grin-emoticon:

No idea what your riding Loe and all my experience is coming from the MK1 1st Gens - no idea if this applies but here goes anyway.. There is seep hole on the bottom of the waterpump housing that allows coolant or oil to escape if either of the water pump impellar shaft seals should fail - getting anything from that area? If you do happen to rebuild the mechanical - do the full job.. Get all new seals and get a new impellar shaft.. Jobs not a bad job.. Also thinking if the mechanical is letting oil into the coolant, the coolant should be going the other way as it is under a lot more pressure and thinner... Any chance you may have added coolant that had oil in it, have added some kind of additive/leak stopper in your coolant system,, have smelled that familar slight coolant odor in your exhaust (possible slight headgasket leak?)...

Dont miss laguna burgers on the west side of Albuqurkee. Dont miss Jerome AZ - then take 89a thru the canyons - thru Sedona and into Flag.. You didnt mention if you have plans to do both sides of the Canyon so I will just stick to the South Rim.. "Flag" has 3 mountains they are pretty proud of - just ask any native Flagonian.. On one of those mountains is a Planitarium - really nice ride up that mountain and great place to spend a night tent camping in the bushes - AWESOME NIGHT VIEWS!! Not far from that area is a park with Joshua Trees that are thousands of years old - I cant tell you how to find either cause I found em just out exploring but I am sure any local can tell you how to find em.. Just ask about the Planitarium and where the Joshua Trees are! You leave the east gate of the south rim - shoot over and catch the Wapaki and Sunset Crater National Monuments - AWESOME places and usually overlooked - Indian ruins are amazing!! If you make it to Needles,, there is a Denny's there that will give you ALL the ice water you can drink and let you catch a snooze in one of their booths and their Air Conditioning is GREAT!! If your gonna cross Death Valley and you happen to have a full moon - do it at night BUT take extra gas.. That place is AMAZING at night in a good moon light.. If that sounds like fun and you dare to do it, I would suggest that you plan ahead and figure out a way to turn your headlight off while riding - may sound crazy but a full moon on Death Valley is like broad daylight,, you can see for miles,,,,,,, almost like being on the moon or something... If your going to be tenting - watch out for these things called "Goat Heads".. They are like sand burrs only they have three very stout pokers on em that can actually go thru a tire that is half worn.. Just be careful where you lay your tent.. How ya getting over to California and how far ya going in? Personally, if it were me I would go up around the Canyon and stay as far North as possible if I were thinking much farther than Needles - Sonora Pass/Yosimite is AWESOME and would get ya out of a lot of heat.. Last I heard they were talking 120 degree temps out there,,, pretty warm!! Either way though,,, dont forget good sunscreen if your light skinned, SUN SCREEN CHAP STICK MANDATORY (works GREAT on nose, ear tips and above eyes where normal sun screen leaks down and blinds ya) or your lips will look like califlower and be VERY painful. Carry a gallon or two of drinking water on the scoot and easy to get at - STAY HYDRATED - DRINK LOTS OF WATER and pour it over your heads once in a while. KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON YOUR GRAND DAUGHTER FOR OVER HEATING - ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A HELMET WEARER AND/OR IN STATES REQUIRING HELMETS = BLACK HELMETS WILL FRY YOUR BRAIN BROTHER!!! Get in the habit of talking to each other a lot - pay attention to her speech and listen for slurring and lathargicness when in the sun!! Take salt tablets for water retention.. If either of you get overheated or show symptons dont just run inside of air conditioning - find or make some shade out of your bike cover and spend a few minutes in the shade before hitting the air conditioning.. Make sure your tires pressures are up to par each morning - desert heat eats tires.. Gotta LOVE the desert - NO finer riding in the world (IMHO) but it can be dangerous and it dont take much of an incident for things to become critical really fast.. I am Taz but wishing you and your precious grand daughter nothing but the BEST adventure EVER out there!!! Have fun, stay safe and bring us TONS of pictures of your upcoming experience!!!

With drivers like this one, it's no wonder it's scary to ride a M/C
cowpuc replied to SilvrT's topic in Watering Hole
WOWZY,, go back to the vid and stop at :08 and take a peek at the right front wheel and also notice the rear left is off the ground - got a MAJOR problem happening.. Almost looks like this may have been an "I stole this thing and have to get it hidden NOW before I get busted" routine.... INSANE -
WOWZY,, we sure are a nosy bunch of lop eared varmints ... David,, I have been on that Fluticasone since discovering the Meninga Seal leak.. Just got back from another CT Scan of my sinus cavity to double check that things are well in there.. We must be brothers of different mothers or something Randy,, and all the rest,, I can SO relate to all this!! There is NOTHING like having to breath thru the mouth all the time - I still struggle with it... For me, one of the worst parts of having to be a mouth breather involves going to the dentist.... You varmints gotta know what I am talking about,,,,, having to close off the throat to keep instruments and drill grindings from going down your throat but then almost passing out cause you get no air.... Plus my eye's leak all the time and if I happen to get what ever is leaking from them into my eyes its instant blindness.. Wanna hear something really far out and crazy? Until I was 45 years old I had NEVER suffered from any form of allergic reaction.. I was a health wise.. Then one day when I was 45 years old I was out on my dirtbike riding some single track in the river bottom.. Rode thru a large field of reeds and weeds.. By the time I got out of there my eyes were on fire... I had a friend who suffered a lot of allergies and remembered him carrying antihistamine every where he went.. I stopped at a small grocery store that day, bought some cheap antihistamine pills - gobbled a few of them and within 20 minutes the burning/itching eyes cleared right up.. Knew right then and there that I was on my way to becoming part of the family responding to this thread... Prayers Up for you Randy and for all others suffering with this stuff..

and THAT my friend is EXACTLY whats been going for the last 2 years:thumbsup: - sometimes I think I talk to much during those tests = I told the ER doctor about the chest tightness/pain, headaches, tiredness, tingling down my arms, stiff neck on the left side, blurry vision and feeling like I had an air bubble on the left side of my sternum and was concerned about my heart.. He shook his head and said, "the ONLY indicator of a heart issue in all that is the chest tightness and pain"... Actually Fool,,,, I should have learned to keep my big mouth SHUT a long time ago cause by doing the same thing over the course of the last couple years of chasing this thing we are at , a leaky Meninga Seal, Dupentren's, Prostate Cancer, Adrenal Deficency and Heart Arithmia/Sic Sinus - all I am told are non related to how icky I have been feeling.. Today's list of stuff consist of another sinus CT to take a look at the Seal again, Thyroid and neck ultra sound (ongoing stiff neck), Chest X-ray. Tomorrow's is another stress test.. I failed the one I had last year, thats when they found the Sic Sinus and I ended up at a Cardiologist who said he could not do anything for me unless I was passing out and refused my request to see an electrophysiologist like you and I had talked about.. If I fail this one I am going ask my GP if he could send me to a different Cardiologist - if he will do so I am gonna try and get into the same Cardio that did my friends stint - he is new to the area and I would like to get his opinion of all this stuff.. I will try my best to reduce the size of the main jet that feeds my :Im not listening toif I can get in to see him... GOOD POINT FOOL - I got about 2 hours here before it all begins,, will hit the books and do some cramming!! Thank you for the advice and THANK YOU (and others too) for the well wish brother!!!

and here I always thought WD was invented to remove bubble gum from little girls hair and dispelling water from rocket ships, distributers and spark plug wires was an afterthought....

Just thinking out loud here,,,, back somewhere in that day and age our local Honda shop started selling brand new triked (converted) Wings out of their showroom.. I was not into trikes at the time but know they were busy enough with trikes that they had a salesman dedicated to them.. I suppose it's possible that a Yamaha shop somewhere was doing the same thing and some unknowing buyer thought he really was buying a true factory trike - hard to imagine some parts guy didnt correct em thru the years though if he ever tried to order rear brake parts or something...
