  1. and let this be a perpetual, everlasting testament to all who read this article = following Puc does't ALWAYS end in getting lost or some kind of other chaotic disaster
  2. have also had similar problems with improper float level settings, not enough fuel in the bowls.. If the above suggestions dont do the trick - you might try running the bowls full with the fuel pump, draining them and measuring how much fuel ya got in em.. No idea how much they are suppose to have in em but I would not be surprised to hear someone here does know.. @eusa1 ,, gotta ask ya brother,,,,, it appears in that picture that the float bowls on the 2nd Gens may be removable without dismantling the carb rack? Wayyyyyy cool if that is so!! Wonder if 2nd Gen Carbs will line up and fit on a 1st Gen if that is so!! Sure would make life with carbs a whole lot more "user friendly" I tell ya!!
  3. MiCarl is giving REALLY sound advice here Snyp!! The starter mechanism was iffy in them right from the get go - as I recall, the starter clutch setup was totally different than our Ventures though.. They used a Bendix of sorts between the flywheel ring gear and the starter. Played with em some years ago and found that grinding a small amount of relief on the edge of the mating starter drive gears helped alot with REAL noisy engagement and also allowed for smoother release of the gear set. Another thing that really helped this dorky system was a REALLY good battery that would SNAP the whole assembly into production when ya hit the starter.. I might be wrong on all this (going from a "challenged" memory has it's disadvantages) but regardless - if I were you BEFORE I dragged that Virago home I would at least check on how exactly that system works AND find out if any of those parts are still available as you sure dont wanna get stuck with a scoot that is push start only.. As far as the titling question - it used to be you could get a bonded title fairly easily - just cost more.. Another method here in Michigan is/was to do a ground up build - frame and all.. When finished you have to have it inspected and then the State issues an "Assembled" title.. Personally,, unless I just HAD to have a 750 Virago or needed parts for one - I wouldn't go there - IMHO..
  4. Me too Sonshine - ME TOO!! You get to the point your ready to pass Exodus on to another owner PLEASE let me know - be more than happy to help you post ads and pics Chris!

  6. OUTSTANDING BROTHER - GLAD TO HEAR IT ARRIVED SAFE AND SOUND!!:clap2::dancefool: All the very best in your bending project!! Hope it all comes out well!! Now I am waiting to hear from @VanRiver on the little package I shipped to him a few days ago... That one had to go UPS instead of USPS - be a really good test to see if our local USP shipper dudes are as good as USPS has been!! What say you Riv,,, any sign of a little box of parts from your buddy in Michigan yet?
  7. I been smackin Chipmunks with my little .177 spring air all spring/summer here.. Pulled off a 45 yard free hand headshot a month or so ago. Then another 40 yarder - getting down right lethal I was thinking.. Neighbor Larry comes down the other day,,, sitting in the chairs out front and a Munk almost runs over my feet and climbs inside a gutter downspout about 8 feet away from us.. I told Larry to keep em busy and I ran to get "the Munk Buster".. Got the shooter, sat back in the chair - Munk stuck his head out and SMACK - pellet ricochated off the concrete behind him - MISSED!! Reload, MISSED,,, reload,, MISSED!!! Went to get double barrel 12 gauge - came back out and Larry said the little critter came flying out of the downspout and was long gone:240: Yesterday I noticed that the dirt was all dug up around the downspout and Kitty Cat tracks were in the sand that was dug up!! Moral of the story,,, if ya can't shoot straight and run out of ammo - hire the neighborhood feline,, they REALLY know their business:big-grin-emoticon:
  8. WOW ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ WOW WOW WOW :178: - now THAT is GORGEOUS (in a gearheaded crazy kind of way)!!!! What piece of art work Jamsie - THANK YOU for sharing!! I have done my fair share of building long bikes and dealing with front end geometry but gotta say - looking at the front end build on that sweetheart makes my eyes bleed :cool10: - LOTS going on there!! One of the things that popped into my mind right away in looking at it (front end) is the amount of wear points - where small amounts of looseness could create steering issues. Wish I could have been with you Jamsie cause I would have LOVED to chatted with the builder and got his input into that.. Years ago I was at the Sturgis Rally yakking with other builders on Main Street during a late night chit chat.. Guy had amazing "hubless" wheels on his Chop - wheels were wide open, to the extent that I was able to crawl right them them (which I did).. The rims were basically a big bearings - really exotic for the era.. I noticed right away that the rear drive pulley was about 1 1/2"'s off the ground - I asked him how he cornered such a critter cause it seemed (to me) that the potential for the pulley making contact with the ground in a corner was wayyy to close.. The builder smiled and said - "this is a show bike ONLY - not rideable.. Looks to me though that this beauty is a RIDER though Jamsie - judging by tire wear and all that... WOW that is pretty!! Spent a fair amount of time Tig Welding stainless pipe building Powerhouses here the States and gotta say - those pipes REALLY make me :cool10:,,, BEAUTIFUL piece of work:guitarist 2::guitarist 2::guitarist 2: :scared::scared: AND CHECK OUT THAT ARIEL IN THE BACKGROUND :scared::scared::scared: I would have spent the whole day just GLARING at those two scoots!!
  9. :fatsmiley: you would brother - scouts honor!! ,,, ,,, ya know,,, sometimes I think the good Lord separated us with those miles and miles of Lake Michigan water for a reason... Maybe, just maybe,,, if we were neighbors Michigan really would be a Winter Wonderland - 365, 24/7...

Those now famous 1/4 pound all beef Hot Dog's, Chip's, Pop's and Party Beads are all set too so all you gotta do is swing a leg over your scoot and head to: Place: 115 E. 15. Those came on our new scoot Snyp,, along with a whole bunch of other Ventureline Chrome gadgets and goodies.. I am slowly making progress in getting that stuff off Tweeksis (our new bike) so I dont wreck it out following deer runs in the Mountains. Thinking of putting all the pieces and parts in a big box and having a great big good old fashioned MK1 Ventureline Chrome Super Duper sell off when I get done.. Keep an eye on our club's "for sale" sections if your interested. Not sure stickers will help much on the corroded wires but they sure do a fine job of keeping the rest of the bike together!!
  16. :scared:funny you bring this up Dave,,, met with the staff today up in a little town called Wiedman and got yacking with them about this coming Saturday:happy34: I know its been a long time but a couple folks on here may remember my MGnEM I had in a town named Greenville last year - it was the one where I hired the marching band and all that,,,,, someone probably remembers? Anyway,, the staff thought they would like a redo on that one. It will Leroy the sax player and his group L.C. Smoove last outing with us this year - guess they gotta head back to Louseeeeanna Anyway,,, thinking maybe another 1 p.m.er.. Staff's a go at this time and so is Leroy - all I gotta do is call the place I wanna have it at and make sure they are available and/or the building is still standing .. Thinking out loud,,, any thoughts?

  18. A couple years ago Tweeks (our 83 that we retired this spring with well over 300k miles on her) got caught in strong south by southwest by westernly wind while Tip, Tweeks and I were out goofing off. Tweeks ended up hauling us out to see Mt. Saint Helens via The Dalles Oregon Rally via Frisco via Nellis Air Base via The Grand Canyon Via Jerome Az via Big Bend NP via The Alamo via Squids house for a Stator Update and sleep over via BikerJohns house for a sleep over (we always sleep in our tent but Squid and John would have no part of that) via Route 66 via Chicago where I still believe is where those high winds originated. While on that ride we visited The Jelly Belly Factory in California (hey,, we are older people,, we can visit Jelly Belly if we want).. WE HAD A BALL!! I ate so many Jelly Belly jelly beans I thought I was gonna turn into one:buttkick:.. Did you know they have jelly belly beans that taste like pencil lead or skunk smell or vomit? I digress.. They gave us each a bakers hat with "Jelly Belly" on it so I got one for Tweeks. We stopped at a Wally World and I bought some super glue, took my knife and cut out the Jelly Belly emblem on the hat and stuck it on Tweeks dash! Fast forward to this spring when our new bike - Tweeks sister - needed a heart transplant and Tweeks donated her heart (carbs).. Tweeks always loved to hear me sing Willie Nelson songs to her while we were riding and one of her favorites was "All Of Me" - you know = allll of me,, why not take allll of me,,,,, you took the part, that once was my heart,,, so why not take alll of me... While I had her under the knife I found myself singing her favorite song to her.. I promised Tweeks I would do all I could to fulfill the promise found in one of her favorite songs and have been little by little making progress in keeping that promise.. Tweeks dash was in really really bad shape - she had been completely inverted once on a mountain in Utah which really messed her up so swapping dashes was out.. That gorgeous Jelly Belly momento was gonna have to find another way to find it's way aboard Tweeksis (Tweeks Sister). Today I found just the answer.. I took my 4 inch side winder and cut the Jelly Belly off the dash!!! I then trimmed it up and re-attached it on Tweeksis with the Dash backing behind it!! After completing that project Tweeksis talked me into taking her for a ride to show off her new addition.. Tip (my wife) dont take to kindly to Tweeksis and I pulling out of the garage without her sitting behind me.. Right after we pulled out of the driveway a strong South Easterly wind came up from Chicago and Tweeksis got caught in it and we soon found ourselves half way across Northern Michigan in a little town called Wiedman where my Puc's MGnEM staff happen to be waiting for us to discuss the possibility for an upcoming Rally. While we were there we had Hot Dogs and tater chips AND,, get this,, we even got a couple more Red White and Blue sets of Beads for Tweeks trunk rack! Thats what I did to and for my bike today = the end!
  19. :scared::scared: WOW ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ WOW WOW WOW = OUTSTANDING @Jamsie!!!:clap2::clap2::dancefool: On my way out the door here and just caught this - !! WILL RETURN!! THANK YOU JAMSIE FOR INCLUDING US!!
  20. Cause I am about as lazy as a hibernating bear with a gut full of freshly baked Duncan Donuts I am still dealing with numbness in my hands and doing very little wrench spinning Bob,,,,, BUT - you writing that reminded me of something - I think I got a parts bike out back with no calipers on it that I could just slide em onto for a peek - good point Bongo, THANKS for the suggestion!! I will post what I find so you can still be as smart as me:big-grin-emoticon:
  21. GREAT TO HAVE YA BACK BROTHER!!!!:clap2::dancefool::dancefool: I thought it was awefully quiet around this place:Bunny:
  22. Was recently sorting through and packing up a bunch of V-Max parts I sold to one of our members (wait till he opens that GREAT BIG BOX OF FUN ) and I found a complete V-Max front brake system.. Getting ready to update my ongoing "parts for sale" listing but thought before I do that I should ask about this braking system - specifically,, does anyone know if the early Single Piston Calipers on the V-max were interchangeable with the Single Piston MK1's? I know they will not fit the MK2 dual piston's mounts (86 up) but was wondering about the 1's.. Thanks ya bunch of lop eared,,,, I mean ya bunch of very intelligent, motorcycle geniuses who I humbly  on a daily basis
  23. :sign yeah that::sign yeah that: Also thinking you can test the kickstand switch by unplugging it and jumpering the leads together if you want to check it,,, been a while since I had kickstand switch problems AND I have no clue about the 2nd Gens (never owned one - all my experience has been with the 1st Gens) - if memory serves me correctly there are 3 leads in the terminal and you gotta jumper all of em together, might be wise to take a peek at a scheematic and see if that is correct:think:. If you do this though - PLEASE BE WARNED - your scoot will start and run with the kickstand down which can be down right dangerous!!
  24. Paypal is probably the easiest and works good for me if your of that persuasion Snyp?
