Awe,,, now your makin my head swell with pride Randy - seriously brother!! THANK YOU for all the support thru this nasty stuff = it is GREATLY appreciated Randy!! I am not much of philosipher or deep with understanding how all this stuff about choosing to battle instead of giving up works but I can say this.. The "war" is so much easier fought knowing that others support you.. I have always been a HUGE "I can do it myself" kind of person, willing to help others but take my own lumps when they come.. These last couple years of chasing the medical front wheel and now entering into the REAL war of facing cancer has somehow enlightened me as to how much we, as humans, need each other.. I didnt do Nam like you and a whole bunch of other GREAT American's did - I was just young enough that I didnt have to go and by the 73 (graduation year for me) rolled around - it was over as far as the volunteering went.. I remember vividly hearing of and seeing first hand the discussting treatment that our Vets received when they returned home from that God aweful mess.. I never really understood the deep, SICK feeling that was inside me every time, as a young puc, I heard of that stuff. Somehow, thru this mess, those "dots" have been connected and I think I got a dose of why it was so wrong for people to outcast our fellow man for choosing to follow the inner prompting to fight instead of running and hiding.. The "uplift" that we can get from just knowing we are being held up by our fellow man with comments like you made above is amazing,, certainly making the return to battle in the form of fighting small everyday skirmishes easily doable.. Bottom line,, you guys n gals were wronged back then - not much that can be done about it except for maybe, somehow, writing something like this in a hard to read, lame brained effort to encourage myself and others to always give space in our live's to be an encourager to others like you and many others have done here.. Thanks Randy! PS = Brother = no real need to worry about the over kill - Tip n I have been married closing in on 40 years and one of the things she is good at is giving me the infamous evil eye and reigning me in when needed... Definitely on the short rope in all this my friend!! Ah ha,, yet another great chance to :stickpoke:,, and :stirthepot: with my bestest - closest neighbor (subtract the pond between us and Fool lives in my back yard!!!)... Lets see if we cant drag some of that fun discussion we were having about shooting a bullet in the air into this one and challenge Fool's intellect ... Fool,,,, taking Tweeks off the side stand is a "leaning" force - totally different than a "lifting" force.. It may take 35 pounds of force to get her off the stand but this can easily be occomplished by using my weight to my advantage.. I could probably macgiver a way of using the same weight advantage and apply it to the blower lift arm on the tractor but,,, ,,,,,, why would I do that,,,, unless you have REALLY accomplished more headway in the development of the "high temp snow" you been working on and that is highly unlikely (which I happen to know you been down too and not able to work in the shed).. :moon: Thanks for starting this thread Jeff = following it has been just what the doctor ordered for an uplift when the candle light of life is a little dim brother!!!!

:scared:cant even imagine bro!!! THANK YOU for your service my dear friend = PROUD to be yours!!!

and then there is the shear simplisity of a father (like my deceased Dad) teaching his very young son (first B-B gun = 8 years old) all about responsible gun ownership and handling.. Always be sure of back stop, if in doubt = dont shoot. The very safest of target shooting requires a real good sand hill and, if possible, hunt the hill tops so your shots are being backed by the valley floor as the deer pass thru. A number of years ago I did a debate in College taking the proprosal that all "still hunting" in Michigan be done from a raised platform = every shot fired would have a guarenteed backstop = won the debate - not cause I was smart but cause of papa!! Bottom line, gun ownership aint that much different than any other amazing freedom we have here in the U.S. (owning and driving a car, motorcycle, being able to drink and on and on) = in the end, we ARE our brothers keeper and its our respondsibility to protect others by avoiding negligence on our behalf.. ,,, speaking about stuff falling from the sky and fireworks = when I was kid we used to sneak into the reeds along the lake shore to get as close to the fireworks being lit as possible - WOW was that fun!!!!!!! Never forget the night that the sky was still, watching all the action take place while they lit the tubes and NEVER forget the downpour of card board and hunks of wood filler shell casings falling from the sky after the BOOM BOOM!!!! Also, used to LOVE the smell associated with such!!!

13 seconds on that one bro!!!!! DEFINITELY A GOOD WORK OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! talking 50 = THAT'S FIFTY - degrees for this weekend Commander!!! YOU da MAN Fool!!!!! Kick the tire n light the fires - if that happens = forget that dinky dalton john deer tractor with the blower attachment - I'm taking Tweeks!!!!!!!!!! Already got the PERFECT excuse too!! I am on a 10 pound weight lifting limit for a couple months - the lever that lifts the blower on the tractor is about a 20 pound pull = bad news (I actually knew this going in and lowered the lifted blower height to about 1 inch off the ground and planned to use it like that while recouping if needed).. Lifting Tweeksis off her side stand is NO WHERE NEAR that = I see a nice relaxing short ride around the hood on the scoot if the temps make 50!!

Thats because Freebird n I are the only ones around here that have kept our young Movie Star looks into old age.. This only applies to male species of the lop eared varmints in the club. Our club ladies have ALL kept their young Movie Star looks status and this is written in stone - cuts down on the need for club purchasing of building supplies associated with Dog House construction (club dues would probably be 12 per month instead of per year if this rule didnt exist).. Make sense?

,, I am SOOOOOO jealous = I would LOVE to attend, just not physically able to.. What an absolutely, totally patriotic American thing to participate in brother!!!! Hope you have a BLAST if you make it!! I LOVE our way of life = :usa::usa:
-
Indeed Snype,, your mixin your Meteephore's just a tad,,,, or - as Rhode Island Red would put it = pay attention when we're talkin to ya son (like paying attention to anything around this joint is gonna do anything other then dig the hole deeper ).. Anyway,, if you look at the pic that Kat posted, near as anyone can figure - while looking at the picture, the first person on the left is Yammer Dan BUT - that's only a theory.. No one, especially Yammer him self, is sure who Dan really is.. The corny fellow in the video is, as far as I know, some charector that wonders the woods around the area where the Rally down there is held looking for Vogel's (at least that is my take). I was later introduced to him and told his name is "Bubba" as mentioned herein.. Hope this helps my friend!! PS - take another look at the picture.. Notice the last guy on the right has a hand above his head (just noticed this myself)? IMHO = that hand belongs to StormRaven who stands behind his wife Kat (GeorgiaWildcat) - she is the one who posted the pic.. Anyway,, if I were the gentleman who has the hand floating around behind him in that picture (for the life of me, I cant remember his name?) I would have Tippy check my back for ice cream smears on my back that spelled out "StormRaven was here" - cant be to careful around that bunch I tell ya!!!!!

:sign yeah that::sign yeah that::sign yeah that: = and dont forget the promise ya made to your ol buddy on the other side of the pond Jeff = warm n sunny by this weekend!!!!!!!! DanL= keep those parts hidden bro = if we make 50 like they are talking, I may CAREFULLY pull Tweeks out for a rip around the hood!! Jeff - SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad to here this outstanding news my friend!! Was thinking of your comment in another thread about possibly getting the clean bill of health/release last Monday and was planning to jump on here and ask about it when I got home today = ya beat me to it ya lop eared varmint!!!! Anyway, sounds AWESOME brother!!! Things keep poppin the way there are = we are gonna have a huge group of healthy riders come spring = and with one of them controlling the weather,, could be the makings of the BESTEST spring riding EVER !! Glad things are looking up for you and our prayers are being answered Flyingfool:thumbsup:

Yep,, right there with ya Boss!!! Some REALLY intense debate about all this stuff as you scroll down on that page!! Also notice a link to a German test of the subject. Be fun to be able to understand Deusce and know what they are saying BUT - if ya start at 1:24 and watch the video = some pretty relevant high tech testing happening there!!

Indeed Snype,, good ole Willie has ALWAYS been right at the top of my list, not followed to far behind by Johnny or Hank too!! Here's my favorite female Willie song singer,,, she did a pretty good job until the ugly varmint with the Harley had on messed her up...

Well,, I know one thing,,, I once shot a deer with my .30 .30 running straight at me. Dead on right in the brisket - he went down but not like he had been hit that hard,,, sort of stumbled a little, ran a few yards and end of line.. Few years late I picked up a Ruger 7 mag partial pay on a bike deal (ended up swapping it off cause I really didnt care for the safety placement up on the comb of the stock - carrying by the comb made for to easy of the safety slipping into "drive" for my liken - BUT - WOWZY what it a shooter!!).. The Ruger came with a box of shells, think they were 180 grain, know they were soft point.. Ran a couple rounds thru it, the gun liked em a lot! I took a wood bit and hollow pointed some of bullets for hunting. That next season I drug that 7 mag out and left my trusty 30/30 behind. Had a nice buck do another head on with the 7 mag = NOW THAT HIT LIKE A TRAIN = HE INSTANTLY FLIPPED OVER BACKWARDS AND HIS INTERNALS LOOKED LIKE A BOMB WENT OFF IN THERE!! Definitely something to absorbing the impact energy of "the push"..

WOWZY WOW WOW WOW = does that pic bring back some AWESOME memories!! Soooo glad Tweeks, Tip n I decided to head down there!! I sure did Kat,,, getting to meet you and Mike on that trip was so much fun!! Two sweeter people there has never been!! Wait a minute Barry,,, THATS Yammer Dan:think:.... What an amazing group of people and awesome time to get to meet them brother - will NEVER forget and hope to see a return trip for Tip n I someday too!! VOGEL SWEET VOGEL!!! EDIT!! You varmints remember this critter (c vid)? He kind of gave me the willies:big-grin-emoticon:

I hear ya Jack, had the same response when he told me about it ,,,, thinking an ought 6 at 2 miles,,, ok,, that could be but a muzzle loader:doh:.. Even pointed at an angle when shot upwardly, a couple miles .. Then I got the = "yea,, they said the projectile traveled in the wind while going up n coming down" My stance in all these discussions about falling bullets has always been around the idea that its not even so much about the speed that the object is traveling as it is the energy that is pushing the projectile at that speed. Seems like laws of physics would dictate that falling speed is about all any object is gonna obtain on its way down (diggin way back into High School science here) and the energy absorbed by stopping a free falling object is different than the energy absorbed from a projectile being pushed at that speed. It's gotta be something to do with that otherwise it seems like every time 1/2" hail came down in a good ol fashion western storm there would be people killed from getting hit with the stuff and holes driven thru rooftops..
-
How cool is that = ya just never ever know where/when an emergency Meet n Greet is gonna take place!! COOL BEANS YOU TWO!!! Prayers Up for your back situation Joe = get er done cause spring is coming!!!!!!!!

My Brother-In-Law was indirectly involved in an accidental shooting because of the falling bullet routine.. He was black powder Deer hunting with a group of guys, customary to cap n ball folks - they all "emptied" their rifles into the heavens for the trip home. Few days later they read where a person was seriously injured by a .50 Caliber falling round ball about 2 miles from where they had emptied out. After hearing the news, the group did what was right = went in and had their weapons checked = sure enough = it does happen!!

You are welcome on making ya feel guilty bro - if, in the long run, it all adds up to "WE" getting to play a little longer, rider a farther, eat a little more ice cream, lose a few more tent poles, buy candy bars for a few more kids and harrass a few more new comers to the family = IT'S ALL GOOD!!!! Glad I could help Dan!! Ya know something I learned in playing with mine "breather"? If you completely, I mean forceably completely empty your lungs before you do the breath on the machine it seems to increase the volume you can pull.. Laying in that crazy hospital bed staring at that little machine and that "thought" crossed my mind while thinking about exactly what I was trying to do (flex my lungs).. Been doing for a few days now and gotta tell ya, pretty dog gone impressive how its working - I can now maintain a solid 3000 on the scale while staying between the lines and the draw amount (no sudden jerks in vacuum). Soooo,,, latest news hot off the press!! 1st followup (next one is in 4 weeks) went like this!! From surgeon = I dont usually do this cause people are all different and its easy to give false hope that can really hurt them BUT - because you seem to have a pretty positive and understanding outlook on all this I can tell you = your lympth node test ALL came back perfectly clean !! Other area biopsy results that are in at this time show the same !! Healing of surgical site looks great - my almost black in color bruising (talk about spooky looking) is normal:happy65:! He REALLY appreciated my distaste for narcotic pain relief and me turning it down twice now (lived on the stuff for 3 years when I broke my back - just REALLY dont wanna go there again if I dont absolutely have to) without trying to work thru the pain first - he did kind of scold me though for over doing my excersizing (should not have told him about walking 2 miles ) - said to take it a little easier and give things a chance to heal:confused:.. Made a comment about how surprised he was I shaved off my beard pre-surgery - said he was glad to see me growing it back cause I looked more like me with it - I really like this guy, definitely my kinda people!!!! Bottom line, he was VERY optimistic that they got it!!! No guarentees of course (will know a LOT more in 4 weeks) and that is clearly understood BUT, God is gracious , answers prayers and - like my dear friend Yammer Dan said above = "WE" can do this cause of that!!!!! Thanks again everyone for the concerns, thoughts and prayers throughout this whole thing!! Puc

Good one Snype,, back in 73 I was working as a Machinist in a shop spinning a turret lathe on 3rd shift. Buddy n I got yacking about the energy potential of Oxy/Ace when mixed just right - he would not believe me. Lunch break - took a condom, set the torch up with purdy little cone at tip, tapped it out with a pop n slid the condom over the escaping gas. Filled er up to a good full 5 foot in length n tied er off, grabbed a roll of masking tape n headed outside. Taped the condom on the concrete side of the building and left a tail of masking tape under it - lit the tail and went indoors - got almost to the lunch tables before windows started shaking from the concussion.. Buddy was .... Pretty much believed any thing I told em after that one!!

I'm in for 2 weeks - they are pretty hearty!!

Good on ya on the fishing brother = sounds like a blast!! Your DEFINITELY onto something with the Antelope horn comment BJ:missingtooth:!!
-
ABSOLUTELY = wayyy better - GOD IS GOOD AND ANSWERING THOSE PRAYERS MY BROTHER!! Actually got a pretty good walk in out in the fresh air today (almost 2 miles) = NICE!! Still able to stay off any form of pain meds, lots of stabbing here and burning there but nothing worse than slipping a kicker on an old sporty and bumping a shin on the peg = work thru it the old way by just keep going. Been doing Psylium (fiber) laxitive capsuls for cramps - really seem to be helping in that way - very little straining.. 8:30 a.m. followup tomorrow with the surgeon. He said at the hospital we would know nothing for 5 weeks concerning my cancer. My groin area and all along my right side are almost black with bruising so at least it will be a good time to make sure something hasnt ripped lose and doing a little hemoraging. I asked and he checked at hospital on release (things were darkening up then) = said there would be some bruising - just not sure there should be this much. Shoot brother,,,, all a VERY small price to pay if it all works out and no more nip n tuck, radiation or chemo has to be done.. Not that I am skeerd to go back to active duty in the trenches but I am more of a lover then a fighter = will fight when cornered though THANKS again for all the support Dan!!

When you get to Stewards Point on 1 in California head east on Skaggs Springs Road and ride it till your hearts content. Its an AMAZING unknown road way thru Red Woods that will make you wonder why the Red Wood National Forest north of there was chosen and not this spot = JUST BEAUTIFUL!! Lots of extremly tight hair pins on a single wide paved path in spots - have fun and enjoy your journey!! https://www.google.com/maps/place/Stewarts+Point,+CA+95480/@38.6833189,-123.4033389,16956m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x8086b518cabccc8f:0x3fa18b437678f20e!8m2!3d38.6524433!4d-123.3988916
