  2. NICE Jack,, REALLY NICE!!
  3. I normally just do the ol Walmart flooded cell routine so if I need a battery on the road its a simple, swap out for free deal. However, I just noticed these on Ebay and gonna pick one up.. 35 bucks shipped = good deal.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-12v-Fire-Power-Battery-c50-n18l-a-with-Free-acid-Y50-N18L-A-/182102431386?hash=item2a6626969a:g:Nh4AAOSw1DtXGjYK&vxp=mtr Word to the wise,, tired batteries are really really hard on the starter and other electrical components.. A good battery is CHEAP insurance against future issues, especially when those future issues have a tendency of showing up at the wrong time - IMHO... Forget that trying to extend battery life just one more year - if its weak, replace it!!

  5. You betcha Fool - proud to be the messenger brother!! AND,,,,, not so fast oh yeeee with ice where your blood is suppose to be,,, oh happy - lets bury everything in Wisconsin White Wash ,,, for the Pucster hath ALREADY ripped upon said HP 3500 and found the problem!!! Twas nothing more than a little rubber cup like device on the left hand side of the ink spreader that was spring activated and held in place by clip pressure.. Think its sole purpose was some kind of sweep for the ink discharge on the cartridge = made a little inky mess on a couple of pages when it went KA - CHING with a similar sound to those spring things popping out at the end of the clip on an M1 Garand - KA - CHING!!!!! Pretty cool really .... Ripped er apart - found all the pieces,, using my endlessly brilliant mind and just a small amount of persuation from a pair of rusty ol needle nose pliers and WA-LAH - fired right back up ... You can keep those nozzles pointed North by Northwest their ya lop eared snow makin varmint - no printer burials happening around here!!
  6. IMHO= Got TONS of AWESOME advice happening here Bassett!!! Just thought I might add in: I have used a number of the old school Santee electrical boxes to harbor electrical components on my builds - pretty simple boxes but down right cramped even for a basic "ignition points" old school build.. For something like you are attempting to do - if it were mine I would fab up something utilizing either a double wall rear sectional fender or even an under the seat box.. Something that you would flip the seat to expose the electrical panel would be boss.. Keep in mind that you are going to want to utilize relays (like Mom Yam did OEM) for electrics to save on switch integrity..

  14. Recovering well TEEJ (thanks for the well wish) and you gotta KNOW your ol buddy and his wife are TOTALLY enjoying the Grand Kid!!!!! LIFE IS GRAND WHEN YA GOT A GRAND BABY TO SPOIL ROTTEN!!! ps - been doing a little reading on loop holes for grand pappies with mopeds.. Think i might have found something really interesting.. Looks like to be legal The Kid either has to get a "Moped License" when he is 14 OR be mopeding with a licensed parent or guardian.. Now I gotta do some digging into guardianship papers, probably have to do a little forging of my daughters name therein BUT - me n The Kid may very well be fist bumping while riding side by side for his 4th birthday:thumbsup: - UNLESS GRUMPY GRANDMA (who is reading this over my shoulder) GETS IN THE WAY!!

Of course, you KNOW those Prayers are still going up for her (and you and your family) brother!! Also praying for REAL justice here,,, hope they hang em high my friend!! Never did make any sense why some those nasty's get to remain alive after taking everything another person has or will ever be,,, just never understood that... Sad...
  18. Roger - WILCO!! EXACTLY STANG!!! My kinda people brother!!!! Dad gum it Zude - wish we coulda been neighbors when we were kids - I would have put the hacksaw down I used to cut the frame out of my bicycle to mount a lawn mower engine in it to help you put that plastic thing together brother!! I did have a couple friends down the road that actually had "V-room" motors while the rest of us lived on baseball cards clothe pinned to the frame so it would make "clack clack" engine sounds when the wheel rotated but NO ONE that I knew had that see thru v-8 brother - YOU would have been a best friend for a wanna be gear head I tell ya!! :happy65::happy65::happy65:,,,,,,,, we GOTTA do something about this confounded pond between us Jeff,, build a bridge,, fill it in or SOMETHING:big-grin-emoticon:
  19. @T.J. - Just noticed your ad in the classified looking for a tent... FYI - Menards has been our main supplier of two person Tents for the last 10 or so years. Our last major summer of touring was 2014 (health issues after) and we wore out 3 of their tents that summer - their tents are cheap enough (last one I bought was 22 bucks) that it just doesnt pay to try to save them once they wear to the point that they leak. The main reason I went with Menards when I did was because Walmart quit selling the decent cheap (throw away and easily replaceable on the road) but good ventilation tents that I REALLY liked and Menards was the only one who carried something close.. Maybe check at Menards. IMHO, the closer the door bottom is to the bottom of the tent = the better for touring west or south - you want good airflow across your body.. Menards cheapy two man is awesome for this. Also, important is the dome holding up design - Menards two man with the fiberglass rods that slide thru little hopes and bend to form the dome = perfect!! Those "fish poles" that form the dome set in little pockets the tent corners so you dont have to use stakes to keep the tent formed - easy up and easy down!! Have slept two adults for thousands and thousands of miles in them!! Only problem at all is ya can never get the tent with rods rolled back up into the handy dandy little pouch that comes from factory.. No biggy for me cause I usually leave my sleeping bag, foam tent bottom, extra change of clothes, tent fly and poles laying flat in tent - fold in half - roll up into bedroll with tent door opening on the inside of roll. Tent floor rolled to the outside so the tent floor protects stuff now inside of bed roll from rain.. Works great if ya dont wanna mess with unpacking little tent for set up = 5 minutes from when we stop and we literally can be in the sack for the night - even setting up with no lights!! Just an FYI my friend - hope ya find what your looking for brother!! Puc
  20. Brings back some great memories of years long gone by,, remember that clear plastic "working" v-8 engine model that used to be advertised - for the life of me I cant remember where it was advertised but I remember drueling over the ad - maybe readers digest or mechanics illistrated of something.. Anyway,, ALWAYS wanted one - never got one - I sure led a deprived life :big-grin-emoticon::big-grin-emoticon: I am with ya Bay = a glass engine so one could watch the gizmo's gizmoeing would be AWESOME!!
  21. Thanks for the thought Jeff - REALLY appreciate it! Problem is/was - right at the very end of my print job my little HP 3500 went - KAAAAPINGGG and I ended up having to hand write the last couple responses and the cover page. Called the care center where Black Owl is at - verified the address and got his room number for the mail - talked to the lady and she thought I would just make it by Valentines Day if I got it right in the mail - no time to pick up another printer so it is what is = thinking Black Owl will LOVE the way it all turned out though,, seems like my kind of guy who appreciates that ol "just make the dog gone thing go" attitude most of us live by !! Took a couple pics of the hand copying that I did (see below).. Might take notice @Marcarl that in my short explanation of why I did what I did I told Russell that I was glad I didnt have to hand write your response - writers cramp and all that:Im not listening to:big-grin-emoticon:.. Got er done gang - thanks to all for participating in what we all hope will make our fellow club member Black Owl find some form of during this health battle his fighting!!!
