  1. Oh GREAT - take a couple days off to play with the Grand Kid only to come back and find out @Flyinfool figured out the secret to that 60 degree snow he's been working on!! :snow:
  2. INDEED = FLAT OUT AMAZING:scared:!!!!! He rides that thing like he should be riding it for a living or something!!! Triple hats off to ALL those LEO's who serve and protect us from the seat of a motorcycle!!!
  3. Heyyy,, wasnt neked at all,, cant you see my hat:moon:? Knowing me and how I am always one step ahead of the masses Bongo ( one of the sharper tacks in the box so to speak:rolleyes:) - you probably knew this was coming even before you wrote that comment... I made the recording below right after the Goonersville International Alien vid, at least somewhat in part to prove to folks that may have been thinking that same thought (actually, for some reason I do tend to get asked whether or not I ever wear cloths a lot) that I was indeed - fully clothed (go to .55 and click play if ya dont wanna watch the whole vid).. On the same token though,, I also get asked if I own or have ever used a "GPS" alot too and that question is clearly answered if you start at the beginning and watch to one full minute... Ahhhhh,, what the heck:backinmyday:,,,, I also get asked a LOT whether or not I ever take a shower,,, if you watch that vid from start to finish you will find an the answer to that question too!!!! Looking back on that vid - I pretty much solved all the worlds problems in less than 2 minutes,, guess I REALLY may be one of the sharpest tacks in the box:beer:!!! Oh yea,, I TOTALLY remember "Tuggy" the pooch!! But,, bust my buttons brother,, here's another problem solved!! Reason I say so is: When the cancer dude found my cancer year before last he says = doesnt appear to be the type that HAS to come out right now - slow growing.. Are you the type of person who will be worried day in and day out knowing you have cancer in there and want it out or can you live with yourself while we watch it for a while? My answer - I have no death wish but I am not afraid of dieing (he knows I am a life long biker so I figured he had to of known this anyway)cause I know where I am going if the Lord calls me home.. No worry's if you wanna leave it in there and watch it.. Fast forward to last December when they found it elsewhere and it was the bad stuff (doubling every 90 days) = then he says = BAD NEWS,, the stuff we were watching hasnt changed BUT got a new tumor at 80 cm and doubling every 90 days = gotta come out NOW:doh:.. Doc says he hates cancer and takes no chances/do everything in his power to get rid of the stuff:happy34:.. Then says, there are much more liberal places/Doctors who will take chances and try to save as much in there as possible = I know em all and can send you anywhere ya wanna go or you can get right on it here if you would like = your call.. Tip and I prayed about it,, did some checking on the Doctors history, got "the peace" about going ahead with him.. Day of the surgery the Doc, Tip and I were chatting during pre-op, he reminded us that this was "not open heart but was a real close second" - then he prayed with us.. Reminded him again that I "knew where as was going should something bad happen".. Also told him that he had my permission to take what ever he needed to,, cut me in half even,, that I fully meant what I said about knowing where I was going if the lights stayed out.. Get er done Doc. In the end,, among other stuff, they had to remove some of that tube that connects the bladder and some bladder material.. That meant pulling the tube inwardly for a reattach (alternative was living on "a bag").. Gotta wear a diaper now (1st reason not to worry about tug of warring with the pooch PLUS - cant really ride neked no more either) and the exterior parts are now closer to the interior pieces (2nd reason for no worries about Tuggy).. **** SIDE NOTE!! **** Will try to remember to bring an extra old smelly sock or two if Tweeksis, Tip and I make it to the International this year!! If memory serves me right, Tuggy LOVED playing tug o war with my socks and I hadda ride home with my toes showing thru on my left foot and no sock on the other last time I was there!!!
  4. Yep Bubber,, been side lined the last couple weeks chasing back n forth to help take care of the new Grand Kid.. Haven't been on much to keep up with the latest and the greatest but can honestly say,, I think I got cha all figured out brother and get your "drift" = Bubber has had enough Wisconsin White Washin for a while!!! Ya know,, its really kinda strange,, I used to do a LOT of snowmobiling and buy/selling of em too.. Had many winters when I was still selling sleds in March and riding em all the way into April around here.. Now adays, I gotta admit,,, those pictures @rbig1 posted of Arizona sunshine sure do look good!!! Keep the faith my friend - wont be long now!!
  5. Nope, still had the brakes linked up OEM Unc.. Did delink on one of my other 1st Gens though - found it didnt really make much difference in slow riding = still the same technique. Something else I will mention,, I developed a real love for "back n down" 6 bends for bars back in my chopper riding days - talk about total highway comfort.. One of the things I have always LOVED about my 1st Gens is the adjustable bars and I have always ran all the way back - all the down on my adjustments there (I know, looks goofy) = leaned back, feet up on the crash bars or engine cases and ride for hours with my hands resting on my knees like that, oft times steering with my knees = if you look closely you can probably notice those bars adjusted there.. I point this out cause slow riding is actually easier (IMHO) with the bars adjusted outwardly and up for more leverage - set up like that and its easy to STAND UP on the pegs so a person isnt as prone to want to put their feet down (also much better balance for practicing/getting the hang of clutch/throttle/brake control at slow speed), I have found that moving a foot off a peg = instant loss of slow speed control.. Played with and owned several "Trials" bikes thru the years = slow speed control is the name of the game with those - by design they have no (or very small seat) seat and wide bars for just the reason I am trying to explain.. That make any sense at all???
  6. Hey Or,, tell Moe his ol buddy will be a day or so late again and this time I will be easily identifiable by my Tamale breath should we arrive after dark again!!! SOUNDS AWESOME Air Ready - will defintely check in with you folks before hand if you make this one!!! THANK YOU for the invite either way!!
  7. TOTALLY 100% ROCK N ROLL NANCI!!! Glad to hear the scoot is coming together nicely sister!! Hope that auto clutch solves the joint pain issue for riding for ya cause that GORGEOUS scoot of yours is just SCREAMING for some miles Been getting on top of the medical stuff you and I chatted about - got a new tuner for my heart and they also found some pretty aggressive cancer they removed back in Janurary - feeling much better = things are looking up here now on our end too!! Kids from Sacramento were just here for a couple weeks playing with our new grand son - got to hear alllll about the WATER out there = HOKEY SPAMOKEY!! Flooded roads, over running rivers, cars washing down highways and - like you mentioned, houses and shops filling up.. Gotta ask, when headed north on "5" going to The Dalles back in '14 we rode past a huge resivore (sp) that was almost empty - like 120 feet down!! Wondering if that area is now refilled? I know we came back thru "Marysville" on the return trip to say bye to the kids before heading to Glacier - kids said that area was being threatened by a possible dam breaking - seems like that was a LONG way from your area? BIKE LOOKS JUST AWESOME (as always)!! Good on ya for getting er done sister cause ride season is almost here!!!!!!
  8. Heck yea,, had lots of experience with em.. Always wanted one for a pet when I was a kid.. Couple buds and I went tent camping on our motorcycles (that bad habit has been a flaw in my charector for many years).. Ended up camping overnight up on the white river not to far from where @bluestar99 and his wife live here in Michigan.. Sitting around yakking by the camp fire, cooking Hot Dogs (had that flaw back then too) and my buddy Dan jumps up and says "you hear that?".. The three of us jumped up - thinking we are being attacked by the Hells Angles (it was late 60's and we were patch wearing bikers (I still have my Levi jacket covered with patches from that time period - if anyone is interested I will see if I can find it and post a picture of it) = Hell's Angles were everywhere back in those days looking for kids like us to beat up).. I saw a little raccoon run behind a tree when I flashed my flash light his way.. I chased after him and yelled to my buddies to help me cause I always wanted a pet coon.. The little feller climbed up an oak tree, got about 2/3 way up, went out on a branch and was staring down at me with a funny look on his face.. Told my buddies I was gonna climb the tree, nock em down and I wanted them to grab my sleeping bag - unzip it, open it up and use it to catch the critter when I knock em down (like fire men do when people jump out of a window). They did and I did.. The little coon watched as I climbed closer and closer. He walked out farther on the branch as I crawled closer to em.. He got way out there where I couldnt go without snapping the branch off and falling down (I didnt trust my buddies to catch me with the sleeping bag = not a good idea). Got far enough out on the branch that it begin sagging way down and I started bouncing up and down on it to knock the little feller off the branch. The little coon had a really good grip on the branch but one by one his fingers and hands started letting go - he was hanging on by one hand - still staring at me with that strange look on his face as his body was catapulting up and down being only snagged by one set of fingers when I yelled at my buddies to get ready - he was coming down!! Last jump on the branch I saw the masked bandit go flying thru the air like a flying squirrel - he was now looking at the ground and no longer staring at me!! As expected, my motorcycle tent camping buddies missed catching my pet coon with the blanket but my friend Dan used his body to break the fall of the coon and caught him like a football!! I watched from my perch on the oak tree branch as my two buddies wrestled the little coon to the ground in a valiant attempt to wrap him in the sleeping bag.. Rob, my other buddy screamed "OUCH - THE SON OF A "BAD WORD HERE" BIT ME!!".. For some reason, I found that part of this story kind of funny and almost fell out of the tree laughing - those two buddies of mine were always joking around even when I was trying to do something as serious as catching a coon.. After climbing down and joining my friends and the coon wrapped in my sleeping bag over by the fire, the discussion of how to get the coon home took place.. I remembered passing an old abandoned farm up the gravel road we were camped on a couple miles back whose mail box was laying in the ditch out by the road - I jumped on my 350 Honda, rode back to the farm in the dark, grabbed the mailbox, carried it back to the camp fire and stuffed the coon inside with some leafs to sleep in till I could get em home. The next morning I tied the mailbox with the coon in it to the back of my bike and headed home. When I got home I took some cement blocks and made a pen for "Rocky" my pet coon (I named him Rocky after Rocky The Flying Squirrel because of what happened when he finally let go of the tree branch). I stretched a section of old chain link fence over the cement block structure and lined the edge of the fence with blocks on top of it to hold it in place. Inside the structure I placed a pan of water and a pan with some fruit in it for Rocky to eat - I even cut the fruit up so Rocky didnt have to eat the bitter rine of the Oranges to get to the good stuff. I then placed the Mailbox inside the structure, put the blocks on top of the fencing top, reached thru the wire with a stick and opened the mailbox. Rocky came out and stared at me like he had the night before... I loved Rocky even though I only had him for a pet for one day.. Unlike most of the people responding to this thread - I had no idea that Coons would do almost anything to return to their homes if ya take em away from there - even if they cant see where you are taking them.. The following morning when I went out to Rocky's pen I noticed he had managed to get his fingers around the fences edge enough to lift it up and crawl out. He hi-tailed it back north toward home and never even touched the fresh fruit I left em.. So yes,, I do have experience with Racoon.. So,, with all this experience,, I bet your wondering what I would do if I were in your shoes Mech? If the shed is a typical wood frame and wood floor stand alone unit - I would grab some cement blocks and a floor jack,, jack the shed up from its corners and place a cement block under each corner of the shed so the shed is raised up - Rocky didnt care for the cement block structure because of being exposed (I am assuming), I have a hunch your coon wont either.. He will probably go looking for a new place to hide out once he no longer has a place to hide.. If this isnt possible, perhaps taking a leaf blower or a hair dryer - attach the blowing end of the unit to a section of plastic hosing - dig a small hole along the edge of the shed (you cant use the critters escape hole cause he is about to come running out of it) and place the end of the hose that the blower is not attached to under the edge of the shed. Now build a small smoking leaf fire next to the shed and place the intake of the blower in the smoke - turn it on and blow the smoke under the shed.. It wont take long and the coon will come shooting out from under the shed.. You may have to do this a couple times but most coons are pretty smart and it wont take long and he/she will find a new home. :scratchchin:Like @T.J. , I live in Michigan too - didnt know about our States relocation laws - probably cause I never gave it much thought.. I too live not to far away from a Racoon industrial zone here on the other side of state - that zone here is called "Muskegon State Park".. "The Park" is over flowing with many families of Racoons who have perfected dumpster diving, garbage can lid removal and general camp site theivery.. If I were in your shoes I would not put a lot of effort into finding out whether or not those "laws" being mentioned really do exist - instead I would get out the Have-A-Heart - put some cat food in it - recatch the critter and take em down to the state park dumpster and release em in there with his new family members Hey T.J. - you have trapped Skunks for relocation? How you do that with out getting stunk on?
  9. Hey ya lop eared cross country riding varmint = TOTALLY AWESOME!!!! P.S. - weather been crazy here,, first Fool takes a break, snow all melts - warm enough for a bike ride,,, then he goes to playing with the White Washer - on the way to set up a baby shower in GR yesterday = left home NO SNOW ON THE GROUND - came back late in a snow storm so bad couldnt see the road in front of the car.. 4 inches of fresh powder!! That Fool,, he IS a prankster!!

  11. Indeed Sapper - REALLY great to hear from you brother!! Sorry to hear about the medical stuff = got your back with the Prayers Up and GREATLY appreciate the same - ALWAYS!! Also hadnt heard about the passing of Lone Star, please extend my condolences to the family down there - Prayers Up for them also.. It is amazing how fast time can slip away - especially when your not feeling good and working thru illness or tragedy like you point out. THANK YOU for the update and Godspeed as you continue your recovery!! Puc
  12. Dedicated to Air Ready's 10 year old daughter,, from a geezer that's even older than your pappy young lady!! Nothing new under the sun!!
  13. WOWZY WOW WOW WOW Snagster = been out taking care of the new grandkid, come back and read this = SO GLAD YOUR OK - got cha on my Prayers Up list brother!!!!!! Talk about an eye opener!!! Kind of nuts cause I been thru a little bit of some of this same stuff.. Been chasing down some extreme tiredness myself, in and out of hospitals and surgeries.. Had the tuner (pace maker) installed late last fall.. Seems to be holding its own = nothing below 60 beats at rest (was down into the 30's before pace maker).. Follow up for my + Cancer byopsie showed things were doubling at 90 day intervals.. They hooked me right up and did a bunch of carving and removing stuff.. Jan 9 - On the way into the surgery room for the cancer surgery the Anisteezzologist walked over to me and said "did you know that your heart is working twice as hard on one side as on the other:doh:? and that you have "Pulmanary Hypertension"?" I said no,, I know I have been thru a LOT thru the last 3 years and finally ended up with a pacemaker but nothing like that was ever told to me after any of my tests... Reading your story here reminded me that I gotta make an appointment with my Cardiologist to find out what in tar-nation that is all about.. THANK YOU for the reminder here my friend!!! Puc
  14. I love Interstell,, I mean Internationals,,, a person can find some of the most interesting lop eared varmints with very little work...
  15. Must be that Butter Nut ice cream is good for the memory Jack !! Here is a repost on the vid I think you may be talking about - was asked by several people how Tip and I keep Tweeks upright in slow traffic and out cow trailing with all the gear we pack on her - this was more of a "it can even be done by a bone head like me with a little practice" than an actual training video of sorts even though I did try to explain what I was doing when I was doing it - ,, now THAT was a tongue twister of sorts .. Hey James,, personally I would find a big grass field to practice on or even a hard packed dirt driveway if your concerned about taking a spill and dont wanna do damage.. I have rolled around on the dirt lots of times (dirtbikes = over backwards, over front wards, high side, low side) with em and skidded em on the pavement a few times too and found the dirt does a lot less damage.. Got lots of GREAT advice happening so far - something I may add is to make sure you tuck in your shoe laces when practicing these moves = I personally cant stand it when I am competing with my buddies doing slow riding in a parking lot, pull off a perfect slow ride stop - reach down to hook my kickstand to rest the bike while my foot is on the way down only to snag my shoe lace and CRASH = now we gotta go earn another sticker to cover up more road rash!!!!
  16. ROCK N ROLL RBIG1!!!! YOU DA MAN FOR NOT GIVING UP!!!!!!! :stickpoke: HAVE FUN OUT THERE BROTHER!!
  17. Looking,, ummmmmmmmmm,,,,,, VENTURONONIMOUSLYFANTASYIC!!! :sign Rock On::sign Rock On::sign Rock On: BASSATT!!!

    Hi Again

Kind of got the wind knocked out of me back when I hit 60 on my birthday tach but working things out little by little.. Little snip here,, heart tuner there,,, plug in the snoot to hold some brain fluid in,, that kind of nonsense.. Seem to be feeling a little better these days - hoping maybe to do some touring this year (been a couple years since we did anything serious).. Lord willin = time will tell.. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers brother - always helps!! Retired Tweeks last year (the ol gal got pretty tired with well over 300k on her) - Carbon One (Larry,, you remember our buddy Larry I am sure) had a GORGEOUS 83 stored in his foot locker just for us so we grabbed that sweetheart (the bike, not Larry - he would put a thumpin on me if I grabbed him ) - did a little carb swapping (put Tweeks heart in the new one and named the new one "Tweeksis" as in Tweeks Sister) and sticker transplanting so I got to keep our memories intact. Topped the whole project back off with my "million mile +" blonde side covers that have traveled on all our 1st Gens all the way back to our first one in 87 (an 84 named Beegs).. Tweeksis came out REALLY nice, if I dont say so myself.. Larry had her looking like a brand new bike when we got her with all the whistles and bells you can shake a stick at - lots of chatter when we picked her up (Raggy was there) about how long it would take before I personalized her.. Didnt take long - Larry was very gracious when I saw him later at one of our Meet n Greets = told me he KNEW it wouldnt take me long till I personalized her - said he was proud of me that I did that - my kind of people that Larry!! Speaking of Raggy n Meet n Greetin - been keeping him really busy chasing Hot Dogs all over Michigan.. Keep an eye on the Water Hole this spring/summer - been doing a number of em as the health cooperates = LOTS OF FUN and YOU folks are ALWAYS INVITED!!
  19. Got a brand new bike named Tweeksis that really needs brokin in, Got a brand new Tuner for my heartbeat' that makes my blood run thin.. Got an abdomen free of cancer, they gutted that puppy out. And they cured my leaky brain seal, made a plug up in my snout. Got my right hand fixed so now adays, even my pinky will open up much. But my left hand it still aint right, that's ok cause I can one finger clutch. If all works out and the good Lord smiles, on Tip and I this season. Gonna take ol Tweeksis an run this route backwards, just for stickers if for no other reason!!!!

    Hi Again

REMEMBER YOU, GAIL AND THE AMAZING STORY OF YOUR AMAZING 86??????? How could one forget a story like this is the better question: and FOR SURE - I betcha that @bongobobny aint forgot neither of us brother :stirthepot: Glad you folks are doing well my friend!!
  21. Sell time back when I had my shop up here in Michigan was always end of Feb thru 1st of June, with the early months being the strongest believe it or not.. Had many March and Aprils that I basically sold out of bikes.. Fall - usually starting mid August/early September thru the 1st of the year were ALWAYS "buy time" with folks getting out of debt from or for Christmas and all that.. Did have a really good buddy (we "woods rode" and raced enduro's together) that worked for one of the bigger dealerships in town (handled the big 4 metrics) who got laid off during the winter months and went down to Florida during that time.. He worked winters down there for a HUGE Honda dealership that always needed salemen.. If I recall.. or winter months here in the North (November - Feb) were their hottest sales months.. You could maybe stop into a shop and ask what their slowest times are in your area - most places will give ya a clue if ya listen and ask the right person.. Biggest items to prep for resale - IMHO, would be CLEAN/DETAIL. Fresh battery (dont wanna chance having to jump it in front of a customer). Decent tires and brake pad conditions, lights all working, tire air pressures up to snuff - anything that would require you to inform the customer of "something you may wanna consider doing soon" is what your trying to avoid. I also found that all except my custom choppers (building those for resale was a RIOT) = even with dings and scratches, STOCK and original paint was more valuable.. Folks around here like originality..Also, stock pipes and stuff too.. Never really saw a huge difference in value with lots of Chrome on the open market - again, stock was better.. Matter of fact, if I took a trade in and the owner had the original parts for the bike - I always switched stuff back and did better value wise in my area.. Tune up wise - even a quick carb sync is better than nothing. If ya got the gauges (or know someone who does) it only takes a second and its a good brag point. Have no idea what you may get out of a clean 99.. In the not to distant past (back when I was feeling better) it seemed common place for me to see the early 2nd Gens (even the Millenium) at that 3500 mark pretty common out of Florida/Texas and California. I do know that I have seen a few newer ones (yes they are the same bikes here on craigs for 6ish that didnt sell. Maybe search "adhuntr'" for an all of craigs search, do just your area on Craigs with a search for a 2nd Gen.. take notice of asking price and how long the scoot has been listed.. Fingers are tired,, hope this helps in some small way.. All the best in your sale! Puc
  22. :sign yeah that::sign yeah that: MK1 forks + Progressives + 12.5 weight fork oil + 1" of preload + new bushings + new seals - anti dives - any air in forks = :biker::checkeredflag:
  23. Nope duey,, ya didnt miss nuttin = they got lots of em>> lets try it again - last time I left myself signed in at ebay = maybe that messed us up.. Try this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-12v-Fire-Power-Battery-c50-n18l-a-with-Free-acid-Y50-N18L-A-/182102431386?hash=item2a6626969a:g:Nh4AAOSw1DtXGjYK&vxp=mtr If that doesnt work, go to ebay and search item number 182102431386.. It will pop right up - LOTS of em left for 34.99 and INCLUDES acid!!!
