Could it be possible that the knives will actually be found in this strange place known as ,,,,

:thumbsup::thumbsup: Puc buys a bike,, Ready shoots over and grabs it, takes it home,, Puc goes to Ready's to get the bike,, looks in freezer when Ready goes inside house to get Puc a glass of water,, Puc see's homemade Tamales in freezer, Puc leaves Ready's with a bunch of frozen Tamales stacked on his bike trailer and leaves the 1942 Harley he bought with Ready for payment for the Tamales = win/win!! = Puc,,, = Ready!!

Not to in any way or to cause any of our members grief but, my guess why Mom Yam decided she needed to make some changes before allowing any more demoing or the shipping of the new scoot can be found at 2:20 in the vid below. Regardless of whether or not this is accurate - I think making sure her bikes are ready to go before putting them into the hands of the consumer is admirable of Mom Yam!!

After muddering our way thru Utah and galloping across the next border, it dawned on me that this next state had a helmet law.. The morning was just starting to heat up when we came to a stop out in the middle of nowhere in the fine state of Nevada. I unsnapped our brain skillets from their storage area and Tip and I plopped em on, experience has taught me that those things that will fry your brains if your not careful so I knew we needed to get right back at CingTFW before heat stroke started setting in... I could see a familiar grin on Tweeks face as she stared at the two of us standing there with sweat running across our eyebrows, I told Tip that I thought Tweeks thought the two of us looked like Foot Ball players from 1929 and she was laughing at us.. As I sank the spurs into Tweeks sides and whispered "he who laughs last - laughs longest old girl - let her buck" into her ears I could swear I heard her stop laughing and felt her moaning as she crossed into a full gallop when her tach closed in on 6 grand in top gear. I held it there until the bars on her gas gauge had all but disappeared - GOOD NIGHT THOSE ENDLESS WIDE OPEN DESERT ROADS ARE AWESOME = especially when it comes to disciplining a cocky motorcycle.. When we pulled into a motorcycle feedlot that had finally appeared over the curvature of the planet, I could tell Tweeks was not exactly happy with me.. I am sure she noticed that small patch of oil beside the pump when she came to a stop at her dinner table and, as I put my foot down the absence of friction between my riding shoe and the pavement almost allowed her to lay fully down on top of me like she had done before when her and I had differences while out CTFW.. I was very very glad to see that this particular motorcycle food lot had experienced situations like this many times in the past because they provided extra long windshield cleaning sticks to encourage a short time of seperation between a man and his motorcycle when they were having such a dispute.. Being from a HOT place like the Nevada desert - the owners clearly knew that the heat in the desert can affect even the best of friends in the strangest of ways..

Right after we pulled out of the little cow town I noticed a two track heading north with a big sign on it that said something about "Mining Operation".. It looked promising for a quick/easy way to get buried in the total silence and awesome darkness of the Utah desert night.. Folks who have experienced this wonderment will know exactly what I am referring to. We followed the mining trail in the darkness for a couple miles, to the point that the tone of Tweeks V-4 idling along while Tip and I chatted softly was the only sound we could hear and her single candle power headlight was the only man made light visible.. About that time the pathway started getting pretty narly so I shut her down, dropped the tent and within just a couple minutes the three of us were counting the sheep we had seen earlier in the Uintah Mountains that had been stored in our minds eyes as we drifted off to sleep.. Shortly thereafter I woke up to strange noises outside our little blue desert shack,, look out the door to find these varmints preparing setting a trap of cow puc for me to step in = somethings will never change (stepping in cow puc is a way of life with yours truly) ,, even way out in the middle of the Utah desert!!

Not long after giving Tweeks her reins and watching that dreadful desert wildfire disappear in her mirrors, a small cow town came into view.. Good thing too cause Tweeks belly was getting just as empty as ours were.. Magic hour had long sense passed and it was time to find some road grub.. It was late so the three of strolled the parking lot of a Dollar General store. Tweeks stayed outside gazing back at some folks in at car that were staring at her while Tip and I went inside and grabbed some bread, peanut butter, chips and cookies and walked back outside.. We meandered down the street to a local bike trough where Tweeks drank her fill and then we stopped at a closed McDonalds to use their picnic tables.. As we ate some folks came over and took some shots of Tweeks.. I could tell by their looks (not exactly Cowgirl looking) and their accents that they were probably not from the area.. Come to find out, they were from Hawaii and returning from a 3 week cross country mainland tour of their own.. Wasn't long and they were signing Tweeks,, hugging Tippy (why is it that they always want to hug Tippy?) and telling me that they thought our "style" of living life was really special. They invited us to come to Hawaii, camp in their front yard until we got our Island legs and then go explore "The Big Island" where their home was! Wow,, would that be fun!!!!

After spending the day up playing in the cold wet rain and snow of the Unitah Mountains we thought it best to head for the heat of the low desert for magic hour.. While neither Tip, Tweeks or I really minded the coolness of the mountains, dropping the tent with the potential of waking up to a snow covered camp didnt sound that inviting.. It wasnt long after we settled into the peacefulness and warmth of Utah's wonderful desert region than the small amount of Native American blood that flows thru my veins sensed smoke signals wayyy off in the distance... As the three of us drew closer to those signals,, it became apparent that I was not exactly correct in my assumption that what we were seeing was actually smoke signals!

And then,, when we got wayyyyyyyy up there in those mountains,, far from any form of civilization, we discovered that our camera was wayyyyyyy low on memory:doh:.. I did have enough left in there somewhere though to snap some pretty neat still shots of the ride! WOW was it GORGEOUS up there!!

Our new friend Troy, who we met back at the gun range near Mountain View Wyoming, told us about a very little known motorcycle tour thru the Uintah Mountain Range. In this short video we prepare to go and explore that amazing region! Unknown to us - this mountain range is the only mountain range in America that runs East and West. This range is very similar to touring Yellow Stone - even has lots of Moose and Bear - minus the endless hours of waiting on Motor Homes and tripping over endless tourist - a huge plus IMHO. This is a MUST DO if you are motorcycle touring varmint seeking adventure in a more primitive setting!! THANK YOU TROY for tipping us off to this - you were correct my friend = absolutely AMAZING!!

Make no mistake about those stickers though brother,, they and the numerous zip ties located around that beat up ol scoot serve double duty = yes,, they do serve as our version of a totem pole BUT they also hold Tweeks together in more ways then one = a result of maybe not enough experience/skills and most of all lacking in practice practice practice,, ok,, and maybe taking a touring scoot into places it really didnt belong Hey,, speaking about that,, you ever ride this one? Absolutely perfect for an evening ride so the suns behind ya!! Especially during the rally while everyone else is fighting the bike traffic at Hill City, Dead Wood, Spearfish, Keystone and on and on...

Tell ya what Lenny,, Bongo makes a good point,, think I am gonna give ya this one and call a treaty on the discussion.. I had no idea all this debate was actually causing issue for some and that is not my intent = just not that important IMHO.. On the same token though,, lets you and I get together sometime,, build us a real fire with real hot dogs,,, plop our feet out front of us and take back off like a couple of grumpy ol :stickpoke::stickpoke::witch_brew::witch_brew: buddies and have it out = winner take all (all being the left over Hot Dog,,, even if it is a little crunchy cause neither of us were paying attention to it cookin )...

WRONG NITE!! Special dont happen till tomorrow so it was a Fried Chicken evening!! P.S. - Moose Tracks ice cream sprinkled lightly with some really special chocolate chips that I love.. Its those chocolate chips that are "Cookies and Cream".. Ever had em?? I love em all by themselves = sleep walk in the middle of the night when I get up to pee (they reduced my bladder capacity to about 2 oz's when they yanked that tumor so I gotta get up a lot at night) and dump some in a small bowl and munch em while watching a middle of the night episode of Gunsmoke = THE PERFECT SNACK!! Back to the ice cream dessert.. Topped off with some slices of nanners and straw berries.. No whipped cream though cause I am back on a diet... Good dinner but now that you made me explain all that I cant wait to try the Walleye tomorrow...

Was just reading over on a Wing site and think I bumped into my buddy @Barrycuda over there = no response yet so gotta figure that 'Cuda is either outrunning the thing on his Wing or nailing up plywood.. Signed up and left him a "Prayers Up" message about whats about to happen down yonder... Want to extend the same message to everyone facing this monster = thoughts and Prayers Up if your in this ones path!!

Before running to an Ag store and buying a cheap syringe to use to back wash the system like Condor is talking about, here is something I have done successfully many times with my 1st Gen Clutches thru the years. Think of the system in sections, starting with the Master up on the bars.. You wanna get that area headed in the right direction first.. Gonna be kind of messy so prepare for that by grabbing some rags to stuff around and under the master and hose area.. The bango bolt connection is a fine place for air to gather as is the piston inside the master.. Level the master as best you can, open it, fill it, crack the connection at the bango and squeeze LIGHTLY and slowly watching what is coming out of the connection at the bango. If you see nothing you may have to loosen more so you allow the crush washers to gap away.. Tighten bango, release lever carefully (like your bleeding on a bleeder) and watch the back flow orvice in the bottom of the master to make sure its not plugged. Now do it again watching the connection at the bango to see what kind of flow - watch for air just like watching a bleeder - keep in mind you are bleeding the system from the bango to get a solid lever.. Few times of this - if you end up with a solid lever = all set,, if not,,, you may have to fully remove the line.. I have found it necessary to actually remove the line at the bango = messy job but doable.. You unhook the line and move it up so the bango end is in its highest position so fluid dont leak out. If you have kids, before you start this process go inside the house and tell one of them to get off the video game for a few minutes and come help you.. Unhook the line at the master and have the kid pinch the bango between their finger and thumb to plug it off - now tell em to stand still and be quiet while you concentrate.. Hold your thumb over the hole where the bango bolt enters the master. Now bleed against your thumb in the same way you would bleed on a bleeder only you shouldnt have to release your thumb as the air bleeds off and you build pressure - with a little practice and "feel" you can actually feel the air building against your finger/thumb.. Bleed master until you get good pressure with no air. Now quickly reattach the bango and line and rebleed off the bango... I have done the above many many times and done so successfully without having to rebleed at the slave down between the forward bevel gear and the stator BUT that may be cause I have done it a few times.. Try it and if it doesnt work and if it doesnt work, jump back on here and either I or someone will instruct you in a back bleed.. Does any of this make sense?? I have many times been told I am hard to follow and that my ideas are somewhat backwards so dont be afraid to say,, Puc your nuts,, I think I will wait for a guru to help.. Wont offend me in the least.. Puc

Now thats a good point Bongo that I never really thought about.. Maybe what we need is a stated criteria for discussing the new Venture here on VR, no debating just cause we have interest in the subject matter,,, gotta actually intend on purchasing one... Kind of agree with you,, its way to easy for stuff to get out of hand!! Although not a Face Book user, I have been reading on lots of other sites and, as you said, they have the pro's and con's debate happening too. Some sites like the defunct Victory site actually has a much higher interest in the Venture and stronger debate happening then even the few folks here who have interest.. I noticed over there on their site they do have a running poll though that shows 70% interested in possibly purchasing so, even though they are not an actual Yamaha Venture site like ours where one would think the higher rate of folks would be, they have a stronger legit basis for doing so.. Gotta admit, in all honesty and fairness, I personally at this point in my life I have no interest in purchasing any new scoot, none, nada,, not even slightly.. I just been and and even demoing and stuff cause I enjoy bikes and have a vested interest in the Venture... You do make a very valid point though and I promise I will try to and yak about other things that I am actually planning on purchasing,, ,, like dinner that Tip and I are thinking of going out for!! Heard about a joint that has Walleye and Shrimp full dinner specials for 8 bucks!!!!! Gonna go chase one down

I just wanted to "quote" this so BigLenny would not miss what you wrote Vaz!! I think this finding constitutes another + for the Pucster so now,, unless Lenny promptly objects: +2 for Puc Now another point.. INDEED Vaz,, I too can attest to Yamaha's being the absolute BEST of the BEST!! I also know that the motorcycling community as a whole, 100% agrees with us on this point as Yamaha still holds top honor in this category - there is not another machine that even stands close.. Now,, that said,,, and I hope Lenny is reading this,,, we are talking about the 5 year warranty,, 1 year factory + 4 year still questionable cause none of us really know how it works service contract warranty, on a 1st year scoot.. Considering that this is a new model and,, as we know (we can debate this too if we want - I have a pretty good supply of factual supportive evidence to support my side of this one if we wanna go there) - even Mom Yam is prone to have issues with 1st year new models.. Fact is,, I think having issues with 1st year models is so well known and so highly possible that Mom Yam really should have made that 5 year warranty a FULL Factory warranty instead of copping out and marketing the bike as having a 5 year warranty when in fact, it has a 1 year warranty and a 4 year service contract.. So,, unless we want to debate the case as to whether or not Mom Yam has this one fully sorted (might want to consider Moms current "hold" on delivery and/or watch the video I will post again below that shows what might be the reason why she decided not to ship BEFORE you make that decision) - I think this deserves yet another + for Puc.. So,, what do we got,,, lets see: +2 for Puc +, +1 for Puc ---------------- +3 for Puc Just a small taste of my arsenal:

I can speak for me and only for me Rickster,,,, basically,, :witch_brew: is a flaw in my character. Couple that flaw with another flaw that I have,, I have a very deep addiction to,, even what a Psychologist may consider an obsession with, motorcycles and the world from which they come.. These two flaws have caused me a lot of issues in my short, boring, uneventful life.. As a kid I was abused at an early age = this is a fact,,, my kindergarten teacher told my parents that I had issues because while all the other boys were playing with base ball cards and bouncy balls during recess - all I wanted to do was sit at my little desk and draw pictures of Choppers (those are motorcycles with longgg front ends on em). Obviously the motorcycle flaw thing started at a very very young age.. The :witch_brew: flaw also started somewhere about in that same time frame right after I found another flawed character named Mike who was a year older than I but attended the same school system. Mikes dad owned a bike shop and all he could talk about was the kinds of bikes his dad sold (BSA/Triumph).. Because of my combined flaws, Mike and I used to spend hours and hours :stickpoke::witch_brew::stickpoke: because in my mind - NOTHING was a purdy or as AWESOME as a chopped Pan Head - perferably with a front end similar to the funny looking things I drew... Against all odds in most peoples line of thinking and this probably will be hard to understand and sound absolutely crazy but Mike and I soon became the very best of friends and stayed that way all the thru School.. I later worked for Mikes dad in his bike shop where his dad had dumped the machines that I kept :stickpoke: telling Mike were career opportunities in wrenching (I was right all along Mike) and franchised into both Yamaha and Kawasaki scoots.. My best friend Mike was killed on a turbo charged Z-1 Kaw 3 years after graduating high school but I remained as part of his family until the day his dad died about 15 years ago.. I learned thru that experience (and many experiences like it) that, in my strange world,, healthy , , , and even a little often does = , , :biker: and even can result in a family like atmosphere,, similar to what I have found here on VR ... :scratchchin:Besides,, if we didnt freely and openly talk about the good, bad and ugly about Mom Yam and the Yamaha Ventures on a Yamaha Venture site,,, what would we talk about??

IMHO = having a piece of paper that says "we are gonna do such and such" is totally different than having the people who wrote that on said piece of paper actually do what they said they were gonna do.. See,, that right there is very important info IMHO... @Freebird or someone who knows the clubs forums well, is there a place where this discussion could be permanently adapted or,, is there a place where it already exists.. I may be stepping way off in lahh lahh land here (just clip my cord if I am) but the experience Vaz (and many many others I am sure) have had with this mixed bag of warranty stuff, understanding how it works (if it does work) and all that could/should/might not be a bad idea to have it a permanent part of our club... Any of that idea make sense?? Maybe,, maybe not,, just thinking out loud,, please dont put me back on probation with Yammer Boss....
