Hi Stu That number for the place in California that I have dealt with is: Rancho Motorcycle Recycling 916 - 631 - 7900 Hope this helps somehow and that you are able to find what your looking for!!! Puc
-
Hi Stu and a healthy to VR!! Concerning the parts you are looking for,,, I think what you are referring to are parts for a Gen 2 (not a MK2 = if I am correct you may be ending up not being able to find parts because searching for parts for a 2001 MK2 Venture will yeild nothing cause they dont exist - unless I am wrong).. I know there are numerous motorcycle salvage yards here in the U.S. who part bikes out and I am almost positive that you could locate those parts with just a few inquiries therein.. The last one I dealt with was a few years ago and it is located in a place called Rancho Cordova California.. They were able to supply me with everything I needed for one of my 1983 MK1 Ventures that needed help while out touring the country here.. I would be more than happy to contact them and see if they have what you are looking for if it would help? Or,, I can easily get you a phone number on them because I still have one of their stickers pasted on the side of my bike.. Puc

,,, ,,, ,,, ,,, WOWZY wow wow wow,, I been in the wrong business all these years,, I coulda, shoulda, woulda been farrr better off being a Professional 1st Gen totaler outer THAT is awesome!! Congrats brother!!

Now there is a novel idea that I have never tried with any of my 1st Gens = Full Coverage comprehensive insurance!! I always figured if one of em died of injuries or just gave up the ghost some where along the long road of CTFW I would just give it to an innocent by stander and hitch hike home in search of the next one.. This will REALLY be interesting to see what the insurance company says Rev.. If your so inclined to keep us appraised of their response I would LOVE to hear it... Either way,, DEFINITELY glad your ok my friend!! Bikes can be (and often are) replaced!

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all involved in this horrendous atrocity.. To those who lost family or friends and to those suffering with life threatening injuries at this time PLEASE know that God is still there and is still answering prayers. May each of you find his healing Grace sufficient and complete in your time of need. Prayers Up Puc n Tippy

@stanG Almost missed this somehow,,, now I gotta make up for lost time... Heyyyyy,,, I thought you was a radio announcer - never did know you was a movie star too Stang!!!:dancefool: Very very well done ya lop eared Venture torturing varmint!!! So,, now I gotta ask,, did you find removal of the rear shock doable just by removing the left side cover, air controls and sneaking in with a socket (of course, removing the linkage on the underside) or is getting that top out and in more involved than that?? Only ask cause I gotta a pretty good sneaking hunch that I am going to have to replace Tweeks rear shock.. Those last couple jumps the three of us took out CTFW in the back roads of the Flaming Gorge did something under there...

Wowzy,,, hope your ok?? Few stickers and tie wraps and that gorgeous scoot of yours will be good as new and ready for the next adventure!! No sense in starting over = these things are extremely durable IMHO... REALLY hoping and glad your not injured brother,, way to much of that stuff going around these days!!
-
I never ever did get a chance to touch one off but I did get a chance to massage one a few times.. Wowzy are those things HUGE framed and HUGE gripped.. I would LOVE to have one to conceal carry = great big ol honkin bulge at the small of my back = go ahead munk,, pake my day:thumbsup: Jeff,, you ever take a white tail with the .50? If so,, damage report compared to a .44 mag?
-
I have always been partial to the .40 for that which you speak bro,, check this out DanL

You got it brother and sister!! PRAYERS UP!!! Saying a little xtra to boot for all the right boxes to be checked this time!! The Lord bless you both (and your family) for your vigilance and patience in doing it right!!!! And Ready's wife = welcome to your new home!!!!! :usa:

I too do the 18mm thin wall socket with a 1/4 drive ratchet to pull the plugs at times but cha know what,, I have found that the original stamped out plug socket that came in the tool kits to work the best.. I even like to use that cheapy stamped out box end wrench that came in there after I break the plug loose with a screw driver poked thru that set of holes in the top of that stamped out plug socket thingy.. Beyond that,, once they are loose,, EXACTLY what Carl mentions about slipping a hose over the plug to spin em out and in again!!

GORGEOUS - flat out GORGEOUS!! Congrats Jack!! I was always partial to Smith 29's in .44 mag cause they fit my hand way better the Rugers but, the Smith's never ever did prove to be as durable as the Rugers did for me.. I stretched the back bone out on more than one Smith from shooting to much and to much hard stuff and ended up with way to much clearance on the cylinder on em. My Rugers never did that = wayy solid piece.. Indeed,, Ruger makes good stuff... Hey,, you got or have you had a Desert Eagle in .50 or an "Auto Mag"?
-
You betcha brother,, any time!!
-
Or,, a way to put wheels under one and make a trike out of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or,, a way to put wheels under it, make a trike out it BUT also leave it as a usable jet ski so we could go right from the highway out onto the lake to troll for walleye.... A CycleBoat!!!!!!!!!!!!! Glad you two got out and enjoyed those thangs before Fool starts his shinanigans Boss!!!

Regardless of all the healthy and fun about what Mom Yam coulda, shoulda, oughta did or didnt do ( remembering our club is a motorcycle club where most of us LOVE yakkin bikes) = you pick up one of these gorgeous new ones and show up to a club event = ANY OF THEM, and I guarentee you and your new scoot will be the center of attention = hope your not the shy type:backinmyday:!! Also,, PLEASE keep us all informed if you do so and please,, pretty please,,, dont forget the 's,, lots and lots of 's...

,,, ,,, PRAYERS UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FYI,,, I been wearing Gremlin Bells on my riding boots set up like Cowboys used to wear spurs.. Not only do they jingle really really purdy, I am testing them to see if they work as an Anti-Murph on bodies too before I market them.. Testing seems to be working fairly well,, I might suggest you do the same (get a set of Gremlin Bells, make a set of spur frames to attach to your boots and hang a bell on each one) BEFORE Friday the 13th!!!!

Wassup Leroy!! Not a problem questioning my word even if you were brother,, matter of fact,, I HIGHLY recommend you do just that when it comes to this stuff (anytime your dealing with a backyard mechanic at best like myself,, its best to consider the source and ask a LOT of questions = IMHO).. Probably the reason you dont find the RSV spect out on those gauges is because, like the 1st Gens before the RSV,, NO additional adapters beyond the rubber hoses that attach to the spigots on the guages themselves are required to sync our V-4's.. A little more explaination? If you look at the intake manifolds on your RSV you will notice (1) nipple covered by a rubber plug on each manifold or, possibly a vacuum line connected to one of those nipples.. What you do is detach the rubber plug from the nipple and slip the rubber hose directly over this nipple to attach a vacuum gauge onto each manifold = does that make any form of any kind of sense? Dont be afraid to say no and ask for more info as I KNOW I am rather hard to follow at times.. The adaptors in the Vacuum gauge kit I have listed are actually for other applications requiring 6mm extention/adapters.. For instance,, my motor of choice for building Choppers in days past was the early Honda SOHC 750.. That motor required a 6mm adaptor with at least an 8 inch stem to attach the hose to and those are part of that kit you see that I posted from Ebay.. The only reason I mentioned that Kit is because the O.P. of this thread mentioned 6mm adaptors and that kit happens to have the biggest variety of adaptors.. I have used those adaptors many many times in years past and find them a necessary part of this tool BUT,, if you or anyone else are purchasing a vacuum gauge sync tool just to use on one of our Yamaha V-4's (including the early V-Max) it is not necessary to purchase the full kit like I did.. Just the gauges and hoses would work fine as long as the nipples are permenantly imbedded into the intake manifold BUT,, be warned,, if you have any inclining that you may want to help a friend that owns a scoot that does not incorporate built in sync nipples = you WILL be glad you have those adapters = make sense? If you decide to do this you will probably do yourself a favor by making sure the set you are buying has adjustable orvices on its manifold to smooth out the gauges when being used.. P.S. Here is a short video I made for someone inquiring about syncing one of our bikes.. Keep in mind that, if memory serves me correctly (I have only did one 2nd Gen = mirider 's), the 2nd Gen's sync screws on the carbs are in different locations than those of the 1st Gens. From that I deduce that they are probably linked differently requiring this to be so.. Again though, the stock 2nd Gen manifolds still utilize permenant nipples on their intake manifolds and, due to this,, you dont have to buy the full kit as shown in my post above... Hope this helps.. Puc

Ok,, so it got even better,,, $38 for a box of 100 45 auto.. They have a $5 clip on coupon with MPerks for anything over $30 in sporting goods so $33 for 100 rounds... Get there a bit ago and find out they also have 10% off everything in the store and they took the 10% off the $38 bucks so another $3.80 off so $29 for 100 rounds of .45 Auto.. Not bad!! Sale ends today (9-30-17) if anyone is interested..
