My ohhh my does THAT picture bring back memories,, talk about the early days of touring (we just called it riding back then didn't we Ty!!!). I was CTFW on a HD Shovelhead Lowrider (fancy Super Glide) at the time and packed exactly like seen in your pic!! Will never forget pulling under a bridge out in Colorado cause a major T-Storm has caught up with me.. Pulled in beside 4 guys from Jersey who, like me, were headed out "Ghost Towning" in the desert... They were riding Honda Twin Stars (250cc,, similar to the Honda 250 Rebel but less $$) and loaded to the gills in the same way.. We all LAUGHED histarically as we ran to pick up the Twin Stars after a Semi came by and blew em all down when its head wind caught the luggage on each and blew em down.. Later on that trip I got stopped by a CHIP's 4 reaching back in my sleeping bag, pullin out a camera and snappin a pic of em.. He was riding a 900 Kawi not that unlike your KZ Ty (painted white and WOW - like that KZ650 = THEY FLEW!!) and I just had to have a pic.. Balled me out good for going no handed but no ticket... Had a flat rear tire about 1 hour later just outside of Ventura California.. Pulled into a Orange Tree farm and started dismantling the bike to remove wheel to head into town.. Guy that owned the Oranges stopped, took me into Ventura to get new tire mounted, back to put it back together.. Got done and his wife had cooked us up an amazing Taco lunch.. I tried to pay him,, even threatened him when he refused payment by telling him that I was part of the Hell's Angles and if he didnt take my money my friends were gonna get him.. It didn't work,, he just laughed and told me I could camp in his Oranges any time I made it out there.. WOWZY I have met a LOT of great people by CTFW... Sorry for Ty but hey,, you started it

We are steadily loosing our snow over here on the west side of Michigan so those lop eared varmints on the other side are probably high and dry and thinking they are in Florida or something.. That being the case and knowing @Carbon_One ,, it wouldn't surprise me to find out that he is out front of their house riding wheelies, ripping donuts or practicing hole-shots with his asphalt curling Sling Shot while Joyce is shaking her finger at him and yelling - "you better stop that foolishness before you end up in :mugshot:"". Well Sly,,,, IMHO its not the mowing of the grass that I dont care for,,, I actually admire you for having the motivation to do your yard work and all that... The only thing I even find at all unlikable about your thread here are the possible over tones that could play into this. Maybe its just because I never really cared much for yard work anyway that I don't really feel like those over tones are that strong here like others who may be addicted to cutting grass may be,, not sure... Now if you would have posted up some great big 's of your smiling mug while you were dressed in a tee shirt and shorts while sitting on your riding lawn mower while sipping an ice cold pop and risking getting sunburned on your tongue because you were at us than yea,,, those over tones may be a bit stronger ..

One would think a person would mature with the passing of time with unruly, infantile things like needing to write on walls to express oneself coming to pass. A quick glance at the video that we took while CTFW on the west side of Area 51 back in '14 (1st vid, start at about 1 minute in to see what I am referring to) and then a comparo' to the 2nd video we shot last summer out in the middle of Wyoming proves the maturing process is not always successful.. In the spirit of self preservation though,, one might notice that I am not the ONLY person who refuses to grow up = WRITE ON!!!:dancefool:

We had the coolest thing happen to us just west of Ten Sleep Roller.. Here we are,, CTFW on Tweeks out in the middle of nowhere when we round a big sweeping corner and see a tall, lanky Cowboy loading hay into the back of a horse trailer if front of his ranch... No other cars or bikes around and no other folks could be seen at his ranch = nothing to prove to anybody.. That lone Cowboy looks at the three of us, sets his bale of hay down, stands up and gives us a great big "Howdy" of a wave with a big smile to back it up.. After we returned his greeting, he bends back down, picks up his load and walks into his horse trailer... Yea,,, it is beautiful out there,,,, in more ways than one....

That lop eared varmint has got that "so where are you hiding all the apples?" look on his face.... , and that donkey looks like he is answering the question with a typical routine mule come back of: "Sorry I ate em all this morning but if ya give me a ride to the store I will buy us each a nice cold Honey Crisp"..

Seems like just yesterday but it was actually last summer...

GORGEOUS SCOOT!! My nephew had one (sold it to his brother) that I got to ride quite a bit = AWESOME scoot IMHO.. That thing loved to idle along at highway speeds and always felt like it could pull a 3 bedroom house behind it and not even know it was back there.. He and his wife toured some on it and I think the only complaint he really ever had was tire wear = great big thumping hard hitting V-Twin ate rear tires (about 3500 miles per tire).. If I also recall,, it was a little finicky when it came to oil changes,, seems like it had 3 drains or something that you had to be aware of... Bike was a RIOT to ride,,, definitely a torque monster!! His was the "S" and silver in color = lots of chrome,, LOTS of shiney and WOWZY are they pretty!! CONGRATS Kic on your new baby!!! Puc

Might not be a bad idea to check the steel structure it self for sharp edges before pulling the tarp over it. Even one small sharp edge can create major problems. Once a small tear gets started, the wind can wreak havock on the tarp.. Maybe cover the steel structure itself with some kind of foam,, even carpet padding wrapped around it, before laying the tarpage on it would help. If I were going with a pull over roof like a tarp I would look very closely at the rubber roof idea like @Dragonslayer mentioned.. I know some of that stuff is VERY durable and is commonly "glued" or vulcanized on site when dealing with commercial buildings and also fairly easily repairable by the same.. Also,, maybe adding purlins across the structure would help in supporting snow load (trust me,, something like that is a perfect target for FlyingFool's Wisconsin White Washer's advanced targeting system) = maybe adding them vertically thought so they dont capture the snow or produce water puddles skeeter breeders...

I get where your coming from Jack,, it's a double edged sword perdicament to say the least.. I know my R1 in it's stock OEM MotoGp track form is a 1 finger front brake operation. Precision is the name of the game therein in both design and in application - if you dont handle that puppy like a micrometer you can flip over front wards from a "stoppie" at 140 mph with one finger as easy as you can flip over backwards at 140 mph while lifting the front wheel in 4th.. I am sure that, from the perspective you and I are talking about is where the desire/love of ABS is derived from.. I have been following and participating in a lot of discussion about the new DCT Automatic trannied Wing and its interesting because a LOT of people seem to support and want to lose the clutch for similar reasons... Not being one to judge either way I gotta say that I still prefer/love the best traditional braking I can get and gotta have a manual tranny.. I consider the precision braking deal with it's needed focus/concentration levels and a good ol manual clutch leaving me to be the one to make the decision how my back wheel is interacting with the pavement a joy to use and find that using those things are part of what makes biking fun in my case... I know I am weird but I even see no point in the GPS's, audio systems, traction control, digital gauges and stuff that many others are wanting and willing to pay thru the nose for... I look at all that stuff as nothing more than a distraction, a means to take my focus off riding my scoot,,, really really riding my scoot.. I think in the end its up to each one of us to pick and choose what it is in motorcycling that spins our crank - nothing more, nothing less...

Or,,,,,, I was talking to my friend @videoarizona the other day and he told me that he found out that E6000 is available in black.. Just pick up a bunch of tubes of Black E6000, spread it over the exsisting structure and when it drys it will be impervious to anything nature can throw at it and it will look like a giant Venture carb diaphram.. We can hang a sign on the front of lt that says "The Diaphram Inn" and christen it at this years M.D.!!! ,,, I know,, I know,,, back on probation for another 3 months...

Ohhh my gosh I LOVE our club soooo much!!!!!!! Within the confines of our clubhouse walls lies the solution to any and all, big or small, of lifes ongoing problems..
