  1. = look I what found = located here:http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?135623-Welcome-to-the-forum-Shadad777-from-Sparks-NV&p=1033071#post1033071 and I dont mind reposting this new member (Hi Shadad777 = another healthy WELCOME TO VR THERE MY FRIEND!!) in its entirety here: Shadad777 wrote: """""Thanks for the Welcome ! Joined the site today after spending the last few days watching "Puc Puc's" ? YouTube videos - He sure promotes you all a lot (Him and his wife are Great (from what i see on video) He has been a god send to me on my 1984 Yamaha XVZ1200 I bought it 2 years ago,the guy I bought it from said it needed fork seals, and a speed O cable and other than "weird breaks" was good to go. I took it to a local bike shop here in Sparks NV. and had them put in the speed O cable, new fork seals, and asked for a general tune up and to look over the breaks..... well they charged me $480.00 for it and said they attempted to bleed the breaks and the bike needed a "whole new break system replacement" and that it leaked oil but that's what a bike that year would do and to get used to it The front breaks worked just fine and the rear worked, just were very light, and after the shop the rear were pretty much useless. (be nice here...) I have been riding dirt bikes, since I could walk, and have ridden many street bikes throughout my life (47 now) and with the front breaks good, and the compression this Venture has, I was able to ride the bike no prob for 8000+ miles with hardly any rear brakes (that's the be nice part) was still able to slow/stop no prob But now I'm going through the bike ...tearing it apart to address a bunch of little stuff (it has an oil leak about a quarter to half dollar size spot on the ground a week - not bad - but want it gone, going to put on new tires (came with new ones when i bought it and there about gone now) change plugs, change brake pads, and am going to redo the fork seals myself - the bike shop ones started to leak again after the first year so I'm going to go through it myself now - probably should have myself in the first place but with work being so crazy then I didn't really have time. change fuel filter, clean air filter, maybe replace battery, Already flushed clutch and break lines with all new DOT 4 ........... That's where Puc Puc comes in... the web has given me clues to my rear break trouble and Puc's Video showed me right where the darn "Diverting valve ??" was under the faring ... Damn 8000+ miles without the rear breaks totally fixed in 5 minutes after watching his video on that little bugger Well anyway I'll be paying my "due's" Friday for the site here. Please forgive me if I end up getting into trouble and asking for advice to much if so I'm not totally inept with a wrench but by no means a mechanic Also at the end of the riding last year I noticed the dreaded 2nd gear "jump" starting - that may well be over my abilities (will I decide to tackle it ... we'll see, maybe next year - it's almost riding season here Anyway long story long, thanks for the site and all it offers.""""" To which I replied: Re: Welcome to the forum: Shadad777 from Sparks, NV ,,,, I smell potential get out of jail (the clubs probationary penalty box ) free card in the makings here for someone!!!!!! 2. To cold to ride and with all this chatter about guns, one of my Harley riding buddies and I are gonna go shootin today.. Got shootin irons on my mind and Tip laughed when I woke up singing the following tune.. She is always amazed at how I remember the tunes to those old westerns we all loved so much,,,,,, I told her thats cause she growed up playin with dollies and didnt grow up liven by the code
  3. But before you climb in that hot rod with that crazy biker chick ya might wanna ask her if she checked her seat belt mounts = http://blog.motorcycle.com/2018/04/02/manufacturers/polaris/polaris-recall-2015-2018-polaris-slingshot-motorcycles/?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Motorcycle.com_new-content-unsold&utm_source=Motorcycle.com20180409 ..... We wouldn't want our Bossman to get tossed out in a highspeed corner
  4. Yeaaah,, Polaris just found another way for us to be us
  5. Here's my MK1 DanL'... If you look carefully at Fools MK2 you will notice that it has a barrel release button on it to bring the action to battery above the left grip and it also has the safety behind that.. If you look closely above my pointer finger in the pics and notice no barrel release button like Fools = the MK1's used the safety as a barrel release and only had the safety lever on them... You guys ever shoot low velocity ammo in your Rugers?? Really accurate stuff.. I hand made a set of scope mounts for mine (see pic) years ago,, hand filed the dove tails = ugly as all get out and really primative but WOWZY they worked GREAT!!! I used to have a 3x9 rifle scope mounted on it (I know,, no eye relief - still FUN though = .22 dont kick enough to embed the scope into your eye like 7 mag will so shooting a hand gun off a bench = no problemo.. Anyway,,, 100 yard groups at 2 inches!!!!! A RIOT!!!! Good, cheap fun,,,= back when a brick of 22 shells was 7 bucks that is
  6. Brings back sooo many great memories Larry.. I picked up a 44 mag Redhawk many years ago to deer hunt with.. Nice gun but it wasnt long and I soon realized that no matter what grip combo I used - I couldnt get a good space between the trigger guard and grip base to keep from getting bit... My Dad was a cop and years before I used to go shooting with him and his police Smith 38 special revolver = think plinkin with wad cutters,,, lots and lots and lots of wad cutters... If you look at the pics below, I still use his police issued holster to tote my MK1 in,, not a good fit BUT wayyyy LOTS of memories!! Memories of Shootin Dads 38 brought me to looking at SnW for my hunting needs. Ended up with a 29 and thats what I hunted with for years.. Good shooter and very effective and no more biten.. Dad grabbed 629 stainless 44 and thats what he hunted with.. LOTS of fun!! He went stainless cause I shot my 29 loose a couple times (we used to shoot A LOT) = gap between cylinder and barrel grew.. I always told em that I thought the Rugers were a lot more solid of gun = their back straps were much beefier,, if they wouldnt have been such biters I/we would have stayed Ruger.. After hunting years ended I picked up a custom 1911... Its ugly but its got Bo-Mars, adjustable trigger, 8 flute barrel tuned up real nicely to a comp bushing.. The trigger pull is fairly light for 1911 but that bodes well with its Pachmayrs cause they fit my hands real nicely.. I LOVE shooting the 45 acp and would LOVE to grab a matching Thompson like Saunders carried in "Combat" (only in semi auto,,,,,,, not really,, wish I was rich so I could afford a Class 3 and a 25k dollar REAL Tommy and afford to play with it too ).... Gotta love this stuff,,,,, DEFINITELY a great pass time for when we CANT RIDE cause of this confounded weather !!!
  7. Yeppers,, steel cases dont form like brass.. IMHO,, if your gonna shoot steel I have found it best to keep a close eye on breach cleanliness.. Just make sure you dont get a ridge build up of burned powder that can cause issues of misfires or jams when a brass case is used in the dirty breach.. Not that big of deal if ya keep your shooter clean..
  8. I been trying and trying and trying to participate here and because my typing has gotten soooo slow,, I keep loosing my text so I am gonna try this one subject at a time = wonder if its the weather !! Back when I was much younger,, my Dad and I got into hunting deer with handguns (almost as much fun as bow hunting IMHO) and the 44 mag was our weapon of choice.. I already had a back ground in loading and it wasnt long before he and I were crankin out the 44 mag rounds like crazy.. After Dad got really sick, things not being the same,,I lost interest in the GREAT hobby and sold all our/my stuff.. DEFINITELY a good hobby and some awesome memories!!
  9. Not that unrelated to my vid below - my point is sort of irrelevant :missingtooth:and lacking substance,,,, just thinking of how much pure fun go carts are and how the powers that be used to do everything in their power to keep us from enjoying playing with the things.. I just think its WAYYYYYYYY cool that Polaris was able to take it to the limit and sneak one by those who are constantly trying to "protect" us from ourselves and produce such a really fun go cart with a big motor that is street legal:banana: ... I know,, its a flaw in my character but spinning a roadie in a street legal go cart = yea,,,,, ok,,, thats my point So many fun "toys",, so little time...........
  10. I know EXACTLY what you mean,,, brother!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Tip, Tweeksis and I would love to attend!! Unlike Tweeksis and I,,Tip has never been and she would really like to meet you bunch of lop eared varmints and I think it would be fun to get back down there and hara,, say hi too.. Been tryin and tryin to get back down yonder,,, perhaps this will be the year!!
  12. Yep,, nope,,, yep,,, the whole things gone nuts Ut = not you brother - it REALLY is the market place!! Things have gone so crazy that even the big boys have no clue what to do.. Think about it,,,, Yamaha jumped on the HD wagon thinkin that maybe they could sell bikes rin this soft market by doing so.. With that in mind,, I just read my recently received Rider mag about the "Titans of Touring" where the new Honda Gold Wing was not allowed because it is no longer a "touring bike" and,, get this,, of the three bikes compared to each other = HD was the only one that was water cooled (in an effort to reduce riders getting burned BUT= in another article I read about the modern touring bikes,, the writer stated engine heat was a huge part of the modern touring experience and that it is now,, "unlike your grandfathers Goldwing" - a desired attribute = TALK ABOUT TWISTED!!).. Things are so bad in the market place that the bench mark setter HD is even talking about this to boost their sales (sent to me by a very close friend of mine who LOVES talking scoots = HI DAVE!!!) : https://www.hdforums.com/articles/can-harley-save-itself-with-a-new-engine-layout/?utm_source=jan16&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=content Fact is,, this downturn and shift in prices has been brewing for a number of years.. As early as the year 2000, the big rally in Sturgis was x20 of what it has been the last number of years.. It used to be that people would actually camp on the side of I-90 at the ramps leading into Sturgis cause traffic was backed up over a mile on the highway with folks waiting to get into town = simply put, the town of Sturgis would fill up and the only way in was if someone left!! That is farrrrrrrrr from current status and,,, used as a barometer of interest in overall street biking (it has always been a known fact in the business - what ever happens to Harley sales flows downstream to the all other brands),, its a pretty accurate portrayal of what is happening.. Your not going nuts brother,, the market is..
  13. RSTD!!! Lighter, lower slung, GOOD LOOKING and ya still get to have a RIPPINNNNN dependable V-4 and keep all the knowledge you have earned thru the years of owning a MK2!!! Have seen a lot of em for sale for 4ish and under, low miles and good looking scoots!! Just make sure you get an 05 or newer so you dont get one of the putzy detuned ones with no balance shaft and smaller carbs that Mom Yam tuned for torque... I know you are a HUGE torque freek but trust your old buddy,, you'ld be bored with the pre '05's 75 hp really quick after owning your MK2... Matter of fact,, wasnt long ago that I posted up a late model RSTD for $2500ish.. Didnt last long,,,,, wonder if someone on the site grabbed it?? Seeing LOTS of em at good prices brother - if ya decide on,, whatever - you should let us know what you want so we can help ya find one!! Small world now = shipping cheap and with all our lop eared club varmints scattered all over - a quick nod and someone close would probably be willing to go check it out for ya.... Even though you and your White Washer have been kind of hard on my worm bed (I grow fishing worms) this year = I would be glad to check one out if something popped up in my area brother!!
  14. Flippin adult go cart with a big motor is what that puppy is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BRAPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!
  15. :thumbsup::clap2::clap2::dancefool:
  16. BINGO!!!! Now we are cooking with possum fat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry Ty,,, I totally did not get that but NOW I do!!! Currently the furniture for the living room in my son's new home is being stored in our garage and, unfortunately - Tweeks the parts bike is stashed behind the stuff.. As soon as I can get at her, I will crawl next to her stator and see what I can see and make another video for you. I am not sure how much room there is behind the stator cover for rotating that lever in there into downward position.. Looking at the pic,,, it almost looks like the lever will need to be flipped over as well as rotated in order to end up with the angle of the arm to be able to create movement for shifting too = without modding the lever... Never really thought about it but I do know one thing,,, we are talking custom work here and when doing custom modding - ANYTHING is possible!!!!
  17. OUTSTANDING Bongo and Becky!!!! Hope you two have a MARVELOUS time and,,, PLEASE bring us back some sunshine like you did last time!!!! SPECIAL ALERT = don't tell Bongo this but he is going to miss a huge party at his house starting this weekend.. Free food and drinks as long as supplies last as well as a garage tools and Trike motorcycle auction will round out the weekend.. All welcome!!
  18. NO, No, No . . . PEARL!! Pearl because it's the treasure inside the clam that I am looking for!!
  19. made ammo... (got cha!! ) We were discussing the difference between the cheap ammo with steel casings that comes from Russia (I actually do like Tulammo,, it feeds good thru my 1911) and the higher end/pricey stuff whose casings are formed from brass.. During that great debate (that I was winning ) I mentioned that I thought his 20 dollar surcharge for running customers online weapons purchases thru his little shop was actually a really good deal!! Typical of those who are vulnerable to a well planned ego stroking, he grinned and fell face first into my perfectly laid trap by revealing to me a couple secrets that he admittedly normally only reveals to customers who actually buy something and don't just show up to fondle and rearrange his gun collection/inventory. In accordance with The Code - here are those the two secrets he revealed: The following site operates similar to "Adhuntr" which searches all of Craigs List if your looking for a scoot.. I have been playing with it here while cleaning guns waiting for Spring in this frozen wasteland to show up and have found this to be a really neat and VERY powerful search assist if shopping for Guns and not bad for ammo too.. Take a peek and see what cha think ( videoarizona = that place called "Buds" you shared with us shows up LOTS in here 2 = GOOD deals there buddy = THANKS!!): https://gun.deals/ The other site he told me about does basically the same thing but deals more with ammo.. I LOVE the layout of this site,, very well done IMHO! DEFINITELY some great deals found here: https://ammoseek.com **** SPECIAL AWARD FOR THOSE WHO ACTUALLY READ THRU ALL THAT!! **** Gonna share with you how to increase your gun supply by "1" with absolutely NO chance of rebuttal from those who monitor the check book = pay attention here... I dont own a 9mm,, I turn the soil over under the targets at our shooting range with a 1911 .45.. That said though,, after playing on Ammoseek, I noticed that the cheapest .45 ammo for my 1911 was 21 cents a round.. I then noticed that 9mm best price ammo was 14 pennies per. Like any other of you lop eared shootin varmints - I have always LOVED the Beretta 92F in 9mm but I have yet to hook one so I bounced over to Gun Deals to rattle around with that.. I instantly noticed that a 9mm Handgun (not Beretta) could be had for $119.. The calculator in my pea brain instantly did the math and I headed off to set another trap.. I said "look at this Tip , if I buy 2000 rounds of 9mm ammo instead of 2000 rounds of .45 ammo for my 1911 I can get a FREE Handgun with the $'s I save!!!" Now all I gotta do is figure out how to explain why the higher end Beretta showed up wreaking havoc on the check book that she monitors and I can go ahead and get the "ball" (pun?) rolling!!!!!!!
  20. That sweet little custom Sporty has obviously been around wayyyyy longer then even the cell phone,,, a day and age when the wife couldnt call you to remind ya to grab some viddles before ya came home,, a day and age when shopping lists ruled the day!!!! Gotta love it!! Also diggin on the ultimate in accuracy, never let you down fuel gauge!!
  21. Hearing that Sky,, that new Wing is AMAZING!! Personally I think its the only new bike out there that the manufacturer has actually earned the right to charge even close to 27 thousand dollars for,, and even that is stretching it IMHO.. WOWZY WOW WOW WOW and hokey Manometer spaamokey thats a lot of cash for 2 wheels and a motor even if it does come with a telephone... That said though,, climbing on the new puppy and lifting up between the knees and WOW is it light!!! Feels like a confounded big dirt bike to me!! Just amazing!! I would REALLY love to demo one but our local dealerships are to small for such stuff.. The big dealer in the area (Babbitts = the place where I am sitting on the one the guys are putting together in the pics) for us is only getting in 2 of them this season - I am sitting on the Wing and the Wing Tour with the trunk wont be there for a couple weeks. Only 2 so any form of demoing is out.. Getting Tweeksis ready and as soon as my neighbor on the other side of the pond stops messing with that White Washer, Tip - Tweeksis and I are gonna go hunting for a new Wing to with just for kicks!! By the way,, Babbitts still got new Ventures available and have a discount happening Sky (see pics).. Save a few grand by riding belt drive - air cooled brother :guitarist 2:but dont plan on outrunning the guy who picks up your 89 if you do
  22. ,,, and get into lots of trouble with those little knuckle busters too Larry! One would think that at this point in life a man would have alllll the tools in the tool box that he could possibly need but OHHHH NOOO,, not me,,, just like that lop eared Energizer varmint,,, when it comes to tools,,, guns,,, ammo,, motorcycles,,,, and being blessed with Grand Kids (just found out our Daughter and Son-In-Law out in Sacramento are expecting Larry:dancefool:) - ol Puc just keeps right on truckin!! Kick the tires and lite the fires = its almost Hot Dog time brother!
  23. SWEET DEALS ON EBAY = VERY HANDY STUFF!! Have seen these around for well over 35 bucks each.. Check these out!! https://www.ebay.com/itm/Gearwrench-89103-10-x-12mm-Ratcheting-Flex-Head-Flare-Nut-Wrench/332514100989?epid=1039731591&hash=item4d6b6286fd:g:aDgAAOSw0RdaMvG- https://www.ebay.com/itm/Gearwrench-89104-Ratcheting-Flex-Flare-Nut-Wrench-13-x-14-MM/401462332317?epid=11014211068&hash=item5d79050b9d:g:GGkAAOSwiqtZi2lZ https://www.ebay.com/itm/GearWrench-85481-11mm-x-12mm-Indexing-Double-Box-Ratcheting-Wrench/332608917179?epid=1311952920&hash=item4d71094ebb:g:8W0AAOSw3fpawlAI https://www.ebay.com/itm/GearWrench-85482-13mm-x-14mm-Indexing-Double-Box-Ratcheting-Wrench/390428534044?hash=item5ae75aa51c:g:kuMAAOSwbYZXfAch
  24. Easy peasy!! Hey Murph, if you run across one of these for belt replacement I would love to see it!! I have had occasion a couple times to assist in roadside damaged drive belt assistance on HD's and know that is no small undertaking with them as the primary has to come down = tow time/not much one can do at roadside. Would love to see on this new one with its right side drive (like a Sporty) if the belt can be removed/replaced around the swing arm.. Good stuff here!! THANK YOU for posting!!
