INDEED @buddy!! I can verify that cause these things are PERFECT on my once repaired but still needing surgery neck at C2 spine, Dupentrens infected left hand, pacemakered tuned heart, herniated abdomen where they pulled the fist sized tumor, titanium spliced together lower spined body!! YOU are on the right track! Just make sure you get a regenerative motor so you never have to push and you'll be in business!! @ragtop69gs,,,, OH MAN RAGGY,, YOU NAILED IT!! Remember those huge hills along our lakeshore? WOWZY WOW WOW,, 5th "gear" on the motor potentiometer choice so I get full power to the motor,, wack the throttle and this little sucker CLIMBS!! Not yet! As soon as I tumble down a couple mountains and twist up a neck (on the bike) I have plans of chopping mine with a 10 over springer and that will DEFINITELY have hiway pegs @Marcarl Nailed it @Squidley,,, nailed it bigly my precious brother! Stickers not needed to hold these together YET @SpencerPJ LOL.. Just an FYI,, this model is very well done on the welds (I tigged for years for the Boilermakers and still got just about enough eyesight left to still be able to undercutting and lack of pen) brother and full suspention. It is rated at 330 pounds with over and under gusseting on the neck to seat tube cross bar.. Seems to be very well built, IMHO so far. My neighbor seen ours and now has 3 on order. Problem is, our rugged Military looking steeds are sold out and he ended up having buy a girly bike model LOL Thanks for posting that pic of Tweeks @saddlebum, sooo many precious memories in her and her earned stickers.. She is not done yet either, I just ordered new stator, regulator, gaskets, plugs, oil filter and will be going thru her very soon in prep for showing off our local amazing lake shore riding to unaware visitors to our area.. The coast to coast touring and tent camping days may be gone (but wow what memories) but Tip, Tweeks and I will ride locally as long as possible. As far as stickers on the e-bikes,, they gotta earn em and when they do I will find a way!! Only if I drag them behind Troop to make the rear wheels of the bikes spin in regen mode LOL.. What you talking about @Flyinfool,, you know neither of these bikes can read and better than I can so any comments made by the Manufacture dont mean much to either of us LOL LOL,, Corporal Newkirk,, LOL!! No wiser or more perfectly put words have ever been spoken @RDawson LOL... One time, while Tip, Tweeks and I were miles and miles back on the single track/outback of the Black Hills of South Dakota Tweeks and I were discussing this very issue. We both came to the same conclusion,, that being that the decision of whether or not any motorized two wheeler is capable of off road adventure is 100% a decision to be made by bike and rider,, not by some engineer sitting behind a computer drawings circles and squares LOL

Here is one more step in us finding things to share in together during our wonderful retirement years, ELECTRIC BICYCLES!! After 3 months of researching E-Bikes we chose to spend the extra bucks and go for a pair of the Rattan LM-750's. If you click on my host name in youtube (Puc Puc) found below this video you will find countless videos thru the years of us criss-crossing/tent camping in our great country on Tweeks, our 1983 Yamaha Venture and then, after illness kicked us off riding long distance on our motorcycle we started traveling/camping in our brand new 2018 (has 75k on it now) Hyundai Ioniq named "Trooper". Some of the things we looked for in E-Bikes was smaller 20" wheels, 4 inch tires for stability, at least a 750 watt motor to climb the big hills, at least a 13ah battery, lights with brake lights, REGENERATIVE motor to recharge batteries when coasting and totally foldable so we could put both bikes inside Trooper with us when we traveled. We found all that, AND MORE, with this particular set of bikes. These bikes also have THROTTLES so we can ride them like Mopeds (which I do 95% of the time, WOW is that fun!!) and Cruise Control! The mechanical normal bike tranny is a 7 speed and the motor pedal assist options a 5 "speeds". These will run a top speed of 24 mph which is wayyy faster than we enjoy bicycle travel. What a wonderful way to enjoy the freedom of the great American outdoors with your best friend!!

If my memory serves me correctly the splash plate update came out first with no wire. I updated my very first MK1 back in 87 and I dont think the swosh wire was included. By the time I had gone thru that new stator in that 1st one though the wire addition had come out. I am almost positive the wire was added to keep the orfice that the oil squirts thru from the crank open and clean..

HE HAS RISEN INDEED!! HAPPIEST OF EASTERS TO ALL!!

Nothing,, we have been riding our new electric bicycles... Soooo much fun!!

No ya lop eared varmints,, not that kind of spring!! THIS kind of spring!!! Been waiting forever for my 12 and 14 pound hammer springs from Wilson Combat to show up for Tony the Beretta so I could begin the process of figuring out where he will reside. I am getting ready now to drop in the 12 pounder and then its off to the woodlands (as soon as Spring spring gets here) to see if the 12 will fire/cycle 22lr, subsonic 9mm and standard 9mm.. If not I will work my way up the scale till I reach the spring that produces the outcome needed and then that is where Tony and I will live forever in perfect harmony!! After tuning Tony I am planning on tuning Tweeks but she may have to wait an extra month or so as, for some reason,, those Kanuckians keep sending down their cursed temps below 70.. Varmints they are,, ALL of them!!
-
WOWZY WOW WOW WOW,, now THAT is what I am talking Sky!!! CONGRATS!! Curious though,,, does the guy who owned the shooters before you know that he gave you his shooters LOL? Pics @BlueSky my dear brother,,, PICS!!!! Wilson Combat is good stuff! I got a Wilson Combat 12 and 14 pound hammer spring coming for my Beretta 92. Looking forward to trying them out. Hot Dog Sky,, THAT is awesome!!

THANKS RICH!! I will hold on for a tad to see if anyone else knows of difference I should be aware of before I hit the buy button. Just to make 100% sure we are all on the same page. I was ready to click "buy now" on a MK2 stator/rectifier set on Ebay but noticed that Caltric (the company selling the set) has a note in their ad that the MK2 set will not fit a MK1 and the MK1 set is made of unabtainium.. I REALLY appreciate your vote of confidence that they are interchangeable though!! Thanks again! Puc
-
I notice a part number difference between the two stators with the MK1 being 26H-81410-10-0 and the MK2 being 26H-81410-12-0.. Anyone know for sure if they are interchangable? Hate to order a MK2 stator/rectifier for Tweeksis and have the stator be to wide or something.. @skydoc_17,, any idea? Anyone else? THANK YOU WAYYYY IN ADVANCE YOU LOP EARED VARMINTS! Puc

WOWZY WOW WOW WOW IS THAT ONE HECK OF PURDY SHOOTER ROLLER!!!! You done been blessed!! Wish you were closer cause you and your new GORGEOUS O/U could go out and bust some clays with Tip and I!! @slowrollwv,,, check these out!! 2 days ago, on another site I hang out at,, these little darlings came up in the "freebie" section!! A lop eared varmint over in GR (40 minutes away) had them and purchased a 22 so found he never used them.. The one I am holding is a Ruger air rifle,,, wood stock (though no where NEAR as gorgeous as the wood on your O/U) with scope (junk). The Ruger is a 1100 fps break barrel.. The other one is a Daisy Powerline 880. It appears as though the Ruger has been shot a little, VERY LITTLE, but I seriously dont think the Daisy ever has. Tip and I jumped up and RAN after these two little bb guns like a couple of kids LOL..

One nice thing about it Jack,,,, we are all on the same merry go round go round and round and round and round....
-
Thanks ya Kanuckian Lop Eared Varmint!! Let it be known, I snagged the 750 watt motor with the 13ah battery pack - not so much for its xtra umph (although that will come in handy for climbing hills along the lake shore here) but more so for the xtra miles per charge. I figured it out and, due to the shhhhhhh side of it being lectric we can sneak around those pesky Customs dudes guarding our border and make our way towards Carls to pickup that Burger I never did get... 😛 .. Ye be warned ya Varmint!!

OH NOOOOO!! I am sooo sorry to read this Pops!! But am VERY happy to hear the two of you are ok!! My thoughts/prayers are with you folks as you heal up!! DOG GONE IT!!! It is truly a jungle out there!! Hey Pops,, just an FYI,, I sold Maggie (my R1 bucket list bike) a couple days ago because my health got to the point that I could no longer trust my reflexes in situations just as the one that got you.. It really is a jungle out there!!
-
That is amazing @Condor.. I am somehow not real shocked though Jack.. A HUGE part of the success of my bike business was attributalble to the little, HARD TAIL MODEL, early model Z50's.. Even back in the 90's and into the 2000's we were pulling down 6 to 8 grand a pop for restored hardtails. Straight from hip brother,, the hardest part of the whole restore, IMHO so consider that, was getting the paint right.. Honda used a "3 part" paint to give those early candy paint scoots their look. Many of my bikes (the Zzz's) ended up in offices under glass as decorations.. I had a Commercial bank President from Chicago who was instrumental in selling over 30 of my restores,, even done some business with a Pro Football Player (wore a Patriots superbowl ring) because of my relationship with my banker buddy. It is indeed a different world out there with some of this collectable stuff. GREAT thread my friend!! Thanks for posting it!! Puc

After finding out (went to the world unveiling of the 3rd gen at Lake George and stopped at Sturgis the following fall to test ride them) that Mom Yam showed no regard for our clubs suggestions as to what 99% of our VR club members were hoping for I was,, beyond words, totally disappointed. I am still not sure what Mom Yam was thinking in their propaganda of pre release that stated they were going to turn the touring bike world upside down with this one. Obviously, by the lack of sales they missed the mark.. I will say this though, the SVTC that @RDawson mentioned,,, after noticing it was not going to be a sale on our site I posted that bike on facebook, just to let folks know it was available for 13 grand. I happen to know for sure that the guy who ended up with the bike actually ended up with a BRAND NEW full blown, fully accessorized SVTC with all the trimmings and fixings for just under 14 grand out the door = a fantastic price imho.. Having watched them sit on dealership floors now since their introduction and knowing there are still plenty of 2018 left over's out there I am convinced that the 12 to 14 thousand is about the value of a new one. I really dont think the issues that Mom Yam has had with them has helped the sales.. Top end failures, starter issues, info system failure to function to name a couple have not helped sales. @Freebird and I chatted for quite a bit while playing with his 3rd gen and I also agree with Don on something. Don mentioned he thought just by naming the bike a "Venture" was part of the sales issues,, I agree Don.. The Venture name has always spoke the V-4, shaft drive language that all us Venture folk speak. Anyway,, for anyone interested,, here are a couple of my corny youtube vids that may be of assistance to anyone considering one.. I also know that @VentureFar did a long distance test/review for Ultimate of the steed.. It may be advantages to see if Neil would post that review in here as he did a really nice job of being honest about the bike from his perspective..

Good to see your still hard at it!! Tip and I are doing well. Even though the cancer got the best of me and we are off the bikes we/I just ordered up 2 electric fat tired bicycles (the big bucks - 48 volts, 13ah batts and all that) to play on LOL.. Darn straight Neil!! GREAT job on the latest review!! If you dont have time to check out my comment on your review here is what I wrote: """Once again Mr. Wyenn scores another perfect 10 with another one of amazing reviews!! VERY VERY WELL DONE SIR!!! I greatly appreciate your endless thoroughness and fantastic attention to detail in ALL of your reviews!! Neil, you are a true blessing to the motorcycling community of which you serve!! THANK YOU SIR!!"" As I hope you can tell,, I am down right PROUD that God blessed me with you as my brother!! Hugs to that precious bride of yours and to you too!! LOVE YOU Me -
89 Front Fork question
cowpuc replied to videoarizona's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Hi Vaz!! How are you folks? Hope all is well out there! You find my baby rattler yet? LOL On your bike,, here is what I would do.. I would run the air down as far as possible. Pop the caps and go to town. I would also absolutely drop a set of Progressives in those forks after doing your seals. I would also stick in new fork bushings while I had it down. I have found that with Progressives front fork air is a thing of the past. I would dead head the airline going up front BUT, you dont have to do that if you dont feel the need.. To me, less going on = less potential for issues.. Leaving it hooked up and running 7 pounds on the progressives wont hurt anything but may make it ride a little stiff depending on how much preload you put on the Progressives.. IMHO, and that is all it is, running sacked out ink pen springs in the forks and using air to take up the slack so to speak is the #1 cause of seal failure as the air is actually putting more pressure on the seals than the bike was designed for. Hope this helps until one of the guru's shows up to set us both straight Hi to Pat! Love you both!! Puc -
Any of you shooters into the Silencer/Suppressor world?
cowpuc replied to cowpuc's topic in Watering Hole
Ohhhh heck NO you trouble making, White Washing @Flyinfool!!!! This playing with shooters has just been a bucket list fulfilling winter project cause someone kept dumping white stuff in my yard and my nostrils kept sticking together from the cold so bad that there was no way this beat up old has been Venture rider could even remotely imagine dealing with a Vette.. I sold all my shooters and spent a small amount of those proceeds to fun these shooter bucket list items. In the past 2 weeks I have sold 3 of my bikes from my basement and it appears Maggie is sold too (my health has declined to the point that Maggie and I need to part company). All of those proceeds going toward the Vette too of course. Next on my agenda for the summer is prepping my 3 stall garage so the Vette has a place to call home. While I am doing so throughout the summer I will STILL be looking!! Hey you trouble maker,, if you wanna see one of my bikes, go to Craigs, Muskegon motorcycles for sale by owner and take a peek at my TS250 Savage. Hurry though cause they dont seem to be lasting long on Craigslist!! Sold Maggie in 20 minutes!! Love you! Me Oh.. I almost forgot but Tip reminded me of it.. I do have to squeeze in my central air repair this summer too.. That french drain project of last year sucked all my summer fixing out of me for 2020 so 2021 has got to be the year I fix the air unit.. I wonder if @uncledj is still around for me to tap into for advice on that unit repair... Hope so cause I dont have a clue LOL -
Any of you shooters into the Silencer/Suppressor world?
cowpuc replied to cowpuc's topic in Watering Hole
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh LOL... I mean,, COME ON JACK!! That of which you speak is a direct pathway to one of the socialist owned U.S. prisons for 10 years! Ahhhh no.. On some things I have no problems "bending" the rules but messing with the ATF is not one of them!! Besides,, who would take care of Tippy and the grandkids if I were not home LOL.... Speaking of Mcgyvering Jack.. What do you think of my little project so far? -
Sooo glad you made it thru that ordeal @Bobcat54s!! Flat tires on motorcycles are one of the top causes for fatalities, riding them thru and surviving it takes skill that many riders simply do not possess,, obviously you are not one of those = GOOD ON YA!! Your story does bring to mind something of HUGE importance IMHO.. That being proper installation of the simple little valve stem in the 1st place.. Your story is also one of the very reasons why I simply do not trust and hands but those of my own in my tiring swapping needs.. Quite frankly, just the little art of valve stem installing seems to be a dieing art. Many unknowing, or uncaring, installers over look the need for extreme special focus/care when installing that stem. Overtightening of the stem is a very common mistake and one with the results of which you discovered (not saying this was the case in your example,, just a warning to someone reading this who is not aware of the danger of which I speak). Here is one of my corny youtube videos that I did years ago all about the little stemmer.. Ironically, this little vid is right at the top of views on my tube channel!! Take a peek and see what you think! Puc

PRAYERS UP FOR SURE!!!!

LOL.. As you know Sky, I have used Dollar General's 20/50 for hundreds of thousands of miles with zero issue.. Matter of fact, Tweeks was addicted to the stuff and so is her sister for desert region riding. After watching the video you posted I came out of it wondering if the whole DG Oil lawsuit thing was/is not a ploy to locate the person who was seen painting his underwear and socks at the Sturgis Rally right out front of Dollar General... I heard that not only does this mad man use Dollar General Oil (as mentioned in the following video) but he also eats DG cookies and has been told that DG red paint (also shown in video) is the secret ingredient to Superman's powers..
