  1. OUTSTANDING VAz!!!!! Tip and I wish you folks nothing but the very very best of camping/touring fun on this maiden trailer voyage!! You certainly have PLENTY of places to go, things to do with endless :photographing:ing opportunities around every bend = CANT WAIT TO FOLLOW YOUR JOURNEY!!! :dancefool:
  2. Heyyy Teee,,, they are JUST starting to change!! Still on M-55 just west of Cadillac and indeed, the colors are just starting to show their brilliance here! Another thing we noticed along here was a massive amount of tree damage from high winds. There were area's that appeared to be almost Tornado damage like in that the downed timber was laying in a tangled mess and the trees were twisted off. In other areas it almost appeared to be straight line wind damage as the tree's, even the ones that were fully uprooted, seemed to be laying all in one direction. Any of our Michigan friends have any idea about this?
  3. If you go back to your Michigan roadmap and continue following M-37 north out of Baldwin you will eventually come to the intersection of M-55 and 37, turning right/east there will head you into Cadillac and be following the route we are on in this vid. This would be directly north of the gravel pit that you played in up in the deer woods T.C. and also north east a little of Iron's and that little Jerky store in Dublin. This part of M-55 is lined with Maple, Poplar, Birch, Beechnut and other color producing tree's too so we were very hopeful in finding the beginning of Michigans finest colors for our daughter..
  4. If you look at a Michigan map you can locate Baldwin right on M-37. T.C., and her siblings, will absolutely remember a small ice cream store there named "Jones" ice cream where, wayyy before any of the four of our kids ever headed cross country on a motorcycle with me, they learned to eat ice cream (I remember going with my dad to this same Ice Cream hang out all the back into the late 50's when I was just a kid too,, Jones homemade ice cream has been a main stay and food group of its own for many many years)!! Matter of fact, when T.C. was less then 4 months old, she got so spoiled by the taste of Jones malteds that if I tried to take the straw of my malt out of her mouth she would look at me and cry - bet ya dont remember that Tee LOL.. Just north of Baldwin right on M-37 is the small town of Wolf Lake and is where this vid was shot. This is really really pretty area up here, a lot of pine and oak (no color changing there) but also LOTS of Poplar (usually LOTS of yellows/orange).. Nothing happening here yet though....
  5. Just south of Baldwin Michigan is a B.P. fuel station where, not to many years ago, Tippy with our motorcycle named Tweeks and I held one of our many Pucs Meet Greet and Eat Meat Hot Dog outings (folks came from miles around to join us in telling tales and eating hot dogs but if you were not one of those souls lucky enough (or,, crazy enough) to have joined in the fun for one of those fantastic events and are curious of what I am talking about, you can search my youtube vids and find numerous hilarious accounts of those happenings therein). We thought it best to introduce Trooper to this area by stopping to see if they had any of our left over Hot Dogs (thats a joke) and grab a fresh bottle of water (no gas needed, Trooper gets 60 mpg and we left with a half a tank of fuel so no sense in carrying the xtra weight all over Michigan,) when Tippy noticed a sign on the front door that put a great big grin on me and Troops faces. You know us T.C.,, we are FAR from being any type of LOTTO players but at those kind of potential dollars, GREEN suddenly became the color we were momentarily looking for!
  6. Hey T.C.,,, nothing happening color wise up here north of Hesperia near one of our old Bow Hunting spots. Surely you remember following your ol Poppers thru the woods between morning and evening hunts around the Benton Lake area? It was up here just north of Benton Lake where on Tank Creek - we all played "Pooh Sticks" for the first time (anyone who has raised little children and are familiar with Winnie The Pooh will certainly know this game - it's where everyone drops a stick in the flowing stream and runs to the other side of the wooden bridge to see whose stick comes out from under the bridge first). My T.C. was ALWAYS good at playing Pooh Sticks! Still no colors sweetheart,,, dont worry,, we are HEADING north and WILL find some!!!! Baldwin Michigan, the gateway to the north woods is coming up!!
  7. Heading north in the direction of where those Michigan fall colors usually come from, the little northern town of Fremont paid no colorful dividends.. Other than a few colorful Amish people sharing the road with Trooper in their awesome horse drawn buggy (my good friend from Arizona named VAz would LOVE to see these folks!!) who have blessed this area by calling it home, everything is still pretty much green here at this time. This color tour business can be a tiring pursuit but someone has to do it - the 3 of us are only glad it happens to be us this time!!!
  8. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YOOP :sign67::sign67::sign67:!!!! :yikes:Please say it aint so!!!! ,, think it may be time for the Yoopers and the Troll's to pay a visit to Flyinfool to put kink in some White Washer nozzles brother.. GORGEOUS PICTURES THOUGH LOL
  9. Here ya go Zack,, go to 1:10 on the time line and you can see the valve control I am talking about. I dont have a video showing the exact position the valve is suppose to be for "RUN" but I do know that its not what a normal person would think would be a normal position... Almost like Mom Yam was trying to trick us or something. Hope I am making sense here cause this is something that could be an issue in your case (having messed with the coolant system)..
  10. By the way Zach,, being from Stockton, you ever do that Sonora Pass ride thru the mountains just east of you? WOWZY WOW WOW WOW = GORGEOUS!! Or the one thru the mountains that Twin Cities Road (I think Twin Cities turns into 104 or something) that leads out thru that mountain town of Jackson and across to 89? We take that one a LOT to avoid those 4 hour jam ups coming out of Tahoe when going to Wilton/Sacramento to see the kids.. Both DEFINITELY rides pretty enough to make your eyes bleed!!!
  11. That Bossman around this joint is quicker than a 1st Gen tach and more accurate than the same IMHO. Running in the red zone is not normal in my experience though as all of my 1st Gen's have ran 1 or 2 needle width shy of the zone as their normal op temps. I think if it were my scoot I would double check the position of the bypass/drain valve down where the hoses come together below the rad and in front of the oil filter. If that valve is in the wrong position you could be starving the system of coolant and causing a run hot situation - an opinion of course.. I would also consider checking the condition of the water pump impellar as all but 2 of my bikes still had the plastic 83 OEM impeller in them.. Those would be the early ones that like to dissolve over time leaving nothing to move coolant but a spinning hub,, DEFINITELY an overheat waiting to happen. I think I may have a video showing the valve I am talking about. Be right back if I can find one...
  12. We have a close friend/neighbor named "FlyingFool" who lives just on the other side of Lake Michigan from us (we live in Michigan, he is in Milwaukee Wisconsin) who loves to play with airplanes, ride motorcycles and create havoc with an imaginative contraption known as "The Wisconsin White Washer" (he makes snow with it). Due to his love for Science (he is an Engineer) and his unending resistance to grow up, my buddy Fool would have a BLAST in a Gift Shop/Open Lab area like the one the 3 of us found up on the top of Kitt!! Of course, the REAL fun would have been to get inside of one of those telescope buildings up there and looking for Aliens flying around the cosmos but,, if you suffer from the same anti aging syndrome as Fool does - I am sure you will agree that the lab here is pretty cool and lots of fun = we definitely thought so!!
  13. And we have seen some dandy ones aint we Gary:thumbsup:!!!! Right back at you my lop eared hot dog slayin varmint brother:photographing:!!!
  14. THANKS LEO!!! And by the way,,, you and I are definitely cut from the same piece of cloth (thought I didnt notice that comment in a different thread didn't cha? ) ...
  15. Our oldest daughter, who as a child I nicknamed "T.C." (stands for Top Child BUT she always shared some similarities with "Top Cat the original T.C." too for any of who remember that cartoon) and then later in life, she earned the biker name of Awahoo, ALWAYS loved our Michigan fall colors. Her life path long ago led her to the west coast and on to marriage and mother hood BUT her love for these fall colors in Michigan remains. Tip and I were talking about her, and of course missing her smiling face greatly, when I suggested that we put Trooper into his Mini Motor Home mode and do a color tour of Michigan's finest in her honor.. Tip agreed.. This video series is dedicated to T.C. but feel free to join the three of us as we head North toward Michigan's Mighty Mackinaw Bridge in search of colors like only Michigan, our home State, can produce!!
  16. The view from the very peak of Kitt Peak mountain is nothing short of stunning! Indeed, the telescopes situated in a variety of locations way up there on that mountain stand as a timeless testimony to the intelligence, steadfastness (you should read about how they had to haul those parts for the early telescopes up there many many years ago) and the endless endeavor of our country's scientist and explorers to investigate the heavens but,, their amazing accomplishments hold nothing over the natural splender of the Sonoran desert below being bordered with endless western mountain ranges clearly visible wayyyy off in the distance. Truly,, from sea to shining sea,, God himself did indeed bless this great country of ours... Get out and enjoy it - Puc
  17. Thats crazy brother.... Thankfully there is border with some pretty straight up guards at it making sure the line between the pot and the guns holds cause I ain't so sure a loaded 1911 in the hands of a bonged up, smoke filled lungs kid with the munchies trying to figure out which end of the shooter that the 200 grains of lead comes out of would be a good thing Just thinkin out loud here of course:hurts:

From one Willie/Trigger loving,,, Venture lovin lop eared varmint to another = YA DONE GOOD FRIEND,, ya done real good brother!! Just like Trigger to Willie,, That Tweeks truly is my buddy, my pal and my friend
  20. GOOD EYE!! If you look again and notice the box under the sink plate with the fuse attached to it between the box and her dainty little side stand? That box is there to protect my friend @dogman's yard from having Tweeks mark her territory thereon. So,, She'ld probably pee on the fuse and put it out if someone lit the thing

  22. Youuuuu lop eared in the , varmint!! Glad to hear you made it home and got a chance to CTFW some brother:banana:!!!!! GOOD ON YA,,, as always - LOVE THE PICS = THANK YOU and welcome home!! We just got in from a couple days of CT2FW's in Trooper the Micro Motorhome.. Did a color tour of fall colors. While it was suppose to drop below 32 today here (even a possibilty of some of the early season spinnings off the sides of the Wisconsin White Washer) - it never did but it was fairly cool up by "The Bridge".. Getting ready to start another amature video series of such nonsense so no pics to :stickpoke: with you here BUT - will be adding it up shortly... DAD GUMMIT VAz,, those pics you got there are hard to look at without getting :178:slobber all over my beard ,,, brings tears of beauty to my eyes!!! Tip says HEYDEE HOWDY DOOO = THANKS AGAIN FOR THE TEA I (she) AM SIPPING and sends a big ol Tippy :bighug:your way!! By the way,,, I spent two days just before we left for our color tour cleaning carpeting with a rental Rug Doctor machine.. Did all the carpet in the house, WOWZY WOW WOW WOW did I SLEEP (remove all furniture, vacuum all carpet x3, rent - use - clean up and return rental unit = also kinda,, no, take it back - VERY sore) while up north! All the floors are dry as a bone now and lookin good!! Now I gotta go buy that sweet lady of mine a bunch of new furniture for her birthday:doh:... Oh well,, she put up with me all these years,, she deserves it Good to hear from ya VAz - save some Az beauty for us Northerners will ya,, ya lop eared varmint.... Luv ya Puc
  23. Hey Cappy (that is the biker name she earned many many years ago by spending countless hours touring America with her Dad),, this video is just for you sweetheart! AT THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN RIGHT WHERE YOU BELONG!!! Love you Princess - Dad!!
  24. We need a DMZ so we could do like we did with our marbles when we were kids,, we can swap our guns for pot and pot for guns thru the barter system before we pass thru customs.. Then,, when you Canucks wanna tour the U.S.,, you can stop and pick up some weed, wheel and deal with one of your Gun Totin counterparts from the other side of the border who will be headed north.. Then,, when your toolin around the states and need some xtra traveling funds,, you can just...... Never mind,,, now that I think about it:think:,, I know some things about those sniffer dogs that both sides use and know that their little sniffers work on both guns and drugs from miles away so I somehow don't think what I was thinkin will work out no matter which way your traveling:mugshot:... Soooo,, on another note,,, Tooch,,, did I tell you about that strange smellin North wind that came thru here today?? Smelled like rope burning and left my whole neighborhood gigglin like bunch of teenage girls... Grown men were parking their leaf blowing garden tractors, hauling out their lawn chairs and sitting down with funny smiles on their faces - totally unproductive for the geezers in my area. The salmon that normally swim out of lake michigan and into the river this time of year were all headed back out to sea and even the Red Squirrels stopped chattering and just sat around on tree limbs with strange smiles on their faces... The winds of time are definitely changing.. as for me
  25. Hi Zach,,, and !!! LOVE what ya got going on there!! Soo,,, just thinking out loud here,,,, all of my 83's got their spark advance set up from a vacuum line pulling vacuum from the carb.. My first Venture (and only non 83 I ever owned/rode out to terminal) was an 84 and it pulled it's advance vacuum from the #2 intake manifold. It would be interesting to know where/how you are setting up the spark advance on yours with it set up with that carb?? ing
