    finish this

My attempt in this game: Today I started to put the bike on the battery charger but who is using it, why @Marcarl of course! With Carl living near @saddlebum and that Bum leaving Canuckian lands national chest freezer door open and releasing all that cold air across all of North America and all those Spiders getting weak batteries in em anyway,, Carls machine was the first to need your battery charger @rbig1. Personally, I would not expect the charger to be returned none to soon though brother cause I heard that @FlyingFool took full advantage (would we expect anything less) of Bum's slipping memory machine and put that cold subzero Canuckian air to good use and managed to spread his evil ways clear down into the deep south where people like @Freebird, @VenturousRandy and even down to @slowrollwv land.. I therefore doubt that you asking your neighbor that infamous tool loan question of: what have you misplaced - is going to assist in you getting that charger returned. Bottom line, you may as well ask @videoarizona if he would ship you a loaner up from Pah Hoe Nix, where the sun still shines and the air is warm and batteries are still holding charge, as, I have heard rumors that asking for a new one for Christmas is a failing proposition as even Santy's Claws are not able to grip their way thru the slimy White Wash that Fool has developed!!! The End Did I win?
  3. GOT THAT RIGHT DREWS!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! The word - HATE is normally not part of my vocabulary but I gotta say,,, I HATE CANCER!!! On the other hand,, I LOVE my friend and brother Bongo and promise,, Tip and I will be joining everyone else in lifting you up in our prayers Bob!! Keep your chin up and your eyes on the Lord Bongo cause he loves you too!! Puc
  4. @Flyinfool , just wondered if you are ok brother? Got home here and most of that snott,,, (careful Puc,, dont wanna disturb that varmint to much here) most of that glorious Wisconsin White Wash you sent our way before we pulled out is long gone... Thought I better check and make sure you didnt pull a Johnny Rebeck on us!!
  5. Oh nooo,,, Prayers Up for your entire family at, yet another, great loss Sky!! So sorry to read this! Congrats on the news about your son though,, THAT IS AMAZING!! Sounds like you have some REAL talent going on there in the D.N.A. cause that stuff is BIG TIME :guitarist 2::guitarist 2::guitarist 2::cool10: Make sure you tell your son that your biker brother friend sends a great big ol :thumbsup: his way!!!
  6. Youuuu lop eared desert lovin Puc teasin varmint,,,, Tip, Trooper and I just got in ourselves Vaz and gotta tell ya,,, we neither saw nor heard NOTHING even close to your adventure sharing.. WOWZY WOW WOW WOW,, JUST GORGEOUS!! YIP, YIP YIPPPPP = THANK YOU for sharing my brother!!!! Puc
  7. That came out FANTASTIC @leroy!! Got a cross country trip to the west coast and back on it and still looking like new actually! I checked it when we got home and it looked like no more than 1/32 of rubber loss . My health ended up costing us a lot of ride time this year and we ended up finishing out our travels (still not over for the season) with a new car we bought when we got home from out west (bought a new Hyundai Ionic that gets 60 mpg and we can sleep in it - long story but it is AWESOME fun!!) so it is probably going to take us a few years to actually see the carcass on it/find out how many miles its actually capable of but, INDEED,, that Super Tire is nothing short of SUPER!! I have no reason to doubt that Dunlops claim of 6x coast to coast on 1 tire is correct. *** My ONLY concern that I feel like I need to share here is that, at least from my experience with that dual compound E-4, they are NOT a side of the road, spoon off, spoon on tire. While very impressive wear and ride wise,, if you are one that does your own tire swappin and/or like to be self reliant on those spoons in case of an emergency,, FORGET IT with these!! The E-4 is, again = IMHO, is a tire machine ONLY tire.. Other than that,, WOWZY what a honkin honk of tire!!
  8. :scared:WOWZY WOW WOW WOW,, talk about snail mailin the news thru Face Book!! That story is,,, lets see here,,, at least 2 years old if my recollect is correct ... A really good friend of mine named Matt Luna (use to be President of our local bike club - Muskegon Motorcycle Club, raced against him MANY times, road wheelies next to him many times, sold MANY bike parts to him over the years for building Custom hill climb bikes, ect ect.) is the shaved bald headed guy (Matt dont come by his shine naturally like I do ) who is taking Wayne the Veteran for the ride in the side car. When EVER we have something like this going on in our area, ESPECIALLY doings concerning Veterans - WE LOVE TO HONOR OUR VETS!!! - it turns into a HUGE outing and this one was definitely a big deal!! The spot that this was filmed is about 2 miles from our home, right in behind our local "Mr. Quicks" hamburger joint where us hardcore, real deal bikers hang out. Side note,, Matt is very familiar with our communities love for making wishes come true... His daughter had a rare form of Cancer and, thru the Make A Wish program, ended up becoming our "Princes For A Day" that involved taking over our cities main street where our annual 4 day mini Sturgis "Bike Week" is held and I happen to know for a fact that 95% of those people seen in that video attended her celebration too - I am almost positive that Wayne the Veteran was part of that celebration of life too because I am almost sure I remember seeing him there.. WOWZY Larry.. GOOD FIND BROTHER!! Made my day! THANKS! Puc
  9. WHAT EARLY SAID - THEM WATER PUMP DRIVES AND PUMPS CAN RATTLE UP A STORM!! Lets see,, welllll,,, other than assisting @videoarizona (hey Vaz,, any thoughts on this one?) swap out a rear tire, I aint never had the honor of messing with a Gen 2 but, I have messed with trying to track down strange noises on 1st Gens a few times so thought I would toss my of opinion in here.. First off,, I live by and like the old isolate - isolate, when all else fails isolate routine.. That said, I think I would start the bike up and while sitting on it, lay it over from side to side and see if the sound comes and goes. Sometimes bearings cages can come loose and do a lot of rattling around and moving side to side will cause em to go quiet. Also, a loose clutch or stator bolt or a variety of things can alter in sound by doing this. Another thing you might try is seeing if pulling the clutch lever in and out changes the sound. Does dropping it in gear change it? I would pull the air breather and listen to the intakes and see if they sound normal. I would also make sure she's hitting on all four by spit checkin my pipes and probably toss the sync gauges on it and see how that looks. If none of the quick testing/isolating lead me on a fixit path (or at least a path that suggested the noise was not going to result in Tip and I walking miles and miles and leaving a busted bike behind ) and I was gonna end up yank covers to see what was inside,, I think I would start with the clutch cover, especially seeing how's you mention it having been updated. Loose clutch baskets and/or worn clutch bearings can cause a LOT of strange sounds and it is not uncommon for those strange, noisy clutch sounds to emminate from the area you are referencing. I think the next cover I would pull would be the Stator cover (I know,, sounds crazy right?) as any form of loose stuff in there can produce strange noises in other places besides the left side. I have never ever ever had or heard of timing chain issues with these motors.. I ran out a crank bearing in one of mine once and WOWZY did it get noisy but that was well after 200,000 miles of a hard, happy life. Personally, unless there is any history of running er low on oil,, I would be more inclined to think maybe balance shaft noise.. Maybe run the R's up real slowly and see if the noise changes (kind of like looking for big end rod noise) as the balance shaft bearings load and unload.. I know,, getting long winded again,, got a real problem with .. Hope ya get her figured out and it ends up being something simple like a loose clutch basket...
  10. Ty,, that is EXACTLY the combo I am currently running on Tweeks.. E-4 Rear, Shink 230 Front work VERY well together from what I have found and IMHO.
  11. Good eye Deej,, 41 Chief basket case to be exact.. I will never forget the day I dragged it home,, my cousin was at the house when I pulled in with it, I was jumpin up and down yelling I GOT IT,, I GOT IT!! Tip was standing on the porch with a great big grin on her face,,, my cousin looked at me and said,,, "whats all the excitement, looks like a great big ol heap of scrap metal to me"
  12. GOOD ON YA BRO!! I AINT TAKING DOWN MY POST THOUGH,, I PUT WAYYYY TO MUCH WORK IN IT FOR THAT NONSENSE
  13. Why you ol lop eared Iron Butt Wing riding varmint brother of mine,,,, I am speechless and lost for words (I can see that great big smile of yours right now as you shake your head, look at that Feline brother of yours and say = PUC is NEVER lost for words ) I do TOTALLY understand the curves that life can throw at us but, still, being one who highly honors/respects/regards the friendships God has blessed me with = the Happy Trails song part of life is never easy for me. I do live by The Code though that requires me to dwell on the end of that old tune of life more than the beginning so = to that end Barry, I bid you, calm sea's, blue skies and wind at your back while out there CTFW's on lifes ocean and keep that great big lit till we meet again my brother! Come see us!! Your friend(s) Puc and Tip
  14. Ya never know what you might find laying around in the Sporting Goods department at the local Grocery Store these days. Case in point is the really cool rifle scope I recently scored. Given, I am sure that it is not of the quality of a high end Redfield Wide Field Wide Angle like many of us grew up beating the brush of Northern Michigans deer woods with but, for 45 bucks, what da heck -what da hay, not a bad early Christmas present for a geezer to buy for himself!! Any of you lop eared lead tossin varmintsbody ever heard of, or tried, "BSA" scopes?
  15. Tip, Tweeks and I were goofing off CTFW while heading out to see if we could find the farthest North West corner of the U.S. one year and, typical of three drifter wannabe's, ended up getting caught in a cross wind in Minnesota that landed us at the Spam Museum in Austin (that's right,, Minnesota has an Austin just like Texas!!). It was really a fun place and, get this,, unlike many tourist trap joints that ya find now adays, the welcoming committee at the Museum even honored Tweeks with a free sticker, which her sister, Tweeksis, still wears proudly to this very day. If any of you lop eared CTFW varmints ever decide to check out the ol Spammer ammer Museum, another point of interest right down the road is a town called "Blue Earth" and that is the home of the Jolly Green Giant. No museum but a neat little park to snap some pics at BUT,, you paying attention here?,,, Blue Earth has free 1 over night camping at their Fair Grounds that includes a great hot shower!!
  16. Having no experience with the RSV I should probably keep my to myself but being similar to the 1st Gens, I thought I would toss this out there.. The Stock, OEM plates in my 1st Gens have always produced an excellent clutch range of feathering. Their downfall though has always been, at least on my bikes, they also produced a weak clutch that, even brand new, would slip in the top gears as soon as I brought the engine "up on the pipe" (an old two-stroke riders term for hitting the power band) if I had a full load on. I am currently running non-OEM, after market Barnett plates and, although they hook up like a locker when I wick er up, the engagement position out on the perch is now very close to full lever and a lot more sensitive. Reading this thread,, I really wonder if the Barnett plates would not be a PERFECT candidate for setting up a clutch with a cantilevered lever. My R1 has Quick Click adjustable levers on it (but it is cable) that I LOVE so I know the desire to be able to move the lever in but, other than thru the plates, or maybe by adding a few thou to the clutch rod that engages the pressure plate? - I really cant think of any other decent method of accomplishing the task.. Maybe someone like MiCarl , or Prairiehammer or Skydoc or Flyinfool or videoarizona or VanRiver or the likes would have a clue..
  17. Oh believe me,,, especially at this time of year,, the name "FlyinFool" is mentioned a LOT over here on this side of the pond!! Matter of fact, I was in at Walmart today back in the Tire Dept. waiting in line and swear I heard a mechanic with a car up on the lift say something like "Derned FlyinFool" when a great big glob of wet, heavy Wisconsin White Wash plopped from the inner fender of the car he was working on and landed on the back of his neck.. Definitely made me proud just knowing who he was referring to brother:moon::moon::moon:
  18. Judge: I see from reading the charges levied against you and clearly stated in the Prosecuters post found on Starmotorcycles that - and I quote - "This is the same individual who complained about pricing of the SVTC. If you’ve seen the condition of his 1st Gen then the issue of “affordability” comes into clear focus". Do you offer the Court/Jury any explanation for said charges of not being able to afford a new motorcycle? Puc: Well your holy and most high Honor, it's like this. I am part of a bike club that is full of 1/2 percenters, a tougher bunch of lop eared rotten egg varmints the court has never met. Being more of a lover than the fighting sort, I knew when I joined said Club that I would have to find a way to stay out of trouble. I found out that most of those varmints had an insatiable appetite for Hot Dogs. Being sort of a clever character myself, I formulated a plan of action where I would have an occasional biker Hot Dog party. Things got wayyy out of hand and, before long,, Tippy (the lady over there who is refusing to testify against me) - Tweeks (the motorcycle mentioned in the Prosecuters report in question) and I found ourselves carrying packages of Hot Dogs all over the State of Michigan just to keep said varmints satisfied. To date, I have a little over $171,000 invested in Hot Dogs/buns/chips/pops and, of course, Party Beads (what fun is a biker Hot Dog Party with no Party Beads,,,, Sir?) so,, I guess you could say, my quest for keeping the peace and enjoying life with my buddies was more important to me than riding a new bike. Judge: Puc,,, the court would like to know what that streak of Red spotted with little pieces of green things would be in your beard? Puc,, with a funny look on his face: That would be left over condiments from the Hot Dogs I had for lunch:8:. Your holy Honor is quite a perceptive lop ea,,,,, Judge,,, Your Most High Robed Varmint Honor !! Judge: Noting the circumstances presented before the court today, it is clear that the lop eared varmints within the Motorcycle Club in question are not alone in their love for the 1/4 pound hot dogs in question and that the defendents reason for not being able to afford the price of a new bike is here by considered nonsense. It is therefore a decision of this court that the defendent shall herefore and herewith be forever condemed to a lifetime of pursueing life from the seat of a beat up old sticker covered 83 Venture named Tweeks and shall continue to provide the lop eared rotten egg 1/2 percenter varmints in said M.C. with Hot Dogs lest things get real ugly and those varmints look to a normal and peaceful society for their Hot Dog slaying adventures.. Case Closed:biker:
  19. Hi Rick Butler, ya lop eared seat making varmint,, wassup .. Tires eay.. IMHO: Didnt care for the strange vibes the random tread patterns produced when the Venoms got half worn. LOVED the CHEAP (60 bucks) Full Bore I spooned on Tweeks out in Cali one time. GOOD Mileage (5k) on hot tarmac. Great canyon carving, rain tire! Like them so much I actually dropped a set onto my R1 and have now seen 200 mph with em - GOOD TIRE for the $$.. Have ran a couple dozen sets of Shink 230's out now.. EXCELLENT tire (wanna thank my good friend videoarizona for turning me onto them = THANKS again VAz!!). Dirt cheap, super handling, good mileage (5 to 6k) on rear, x2 that on front. VERY stable tire in extreme heat but still sticky in temps under 40. Way easy to spoon on and off. Ran down a couple sets of Kenda's,, very similar to the wear/feel/price of the Shinks but the Kendas get way noisy in the corners when the tread hits 50%. So much so that you can see the "buzz" in the mirrors and feel it in the bars in the twisties at speed. For the price, the Shinko's a much better tire/deal IMHO. Squidly noticed my new Metz when he and I were fixin on Tweeks at his place in Texas years ago.. Commented about a delam problem he and Sweet Nothin had experienced. Crazy as this may sound, on that trip to the west coast via Big Bend and Glacier, coming in from a VR rally in Oregon at The Dalles, sure enough,, DELAM (got pics if ya need to see what that looked like)! Never gave Metz a second chance. I have ridden down numerous flats, not that much fun and dont go lookin for em. Michelin Commander 2 = GOOD top mileage tire at 8k wear off but not worth the price IMHO as I could buy 3 Shinks or Full Bores for price of one Michelin and the Michelin couldnt do there and back again to the coast (ended up a disaster cause I had to do the swap on the road instead of doing at my Daughters in Sacramento). I do my own tires so mount and balance is free,, besides,, I actually like scraping my knuckles and pinchin my fingers between the bead and the rim:223:.. I liked the 404's for handling and all that BUT,, WOWZY WOW WOW WOW did they wear FAST!! Tip/Tweeks and I took one down to the cords at 3500 miles once out doin the desert. Replaced it with another 404 in a Yam shop parking lot and, again, that one barely broke 4k before it was gone. Got a smackin good deal on a couple Continintals and they were good tires too. Wore like IRON in the heat but not so fun in the rain. For some reason I had cupping problems on the front tire with both sets and only got half life from them. I would do Connies again. Brings me to the E-4 that was mentioned. Right now, after a full, solid trip to the west coast and back,, the tire still looks BRAND NEW (down 1/32 on tread)!! For our way of riding, style of packing (we are/were tenters) and riding hot tarmac of the desert,, this tire is the FIRST tire ever to make the full trip out west and back!! I paid for the "dual compound" tire for a test (x3 of a Shink and it was on sale ) cause Dunny says x6 coast to coast in their advertising.. Looking at it now,, I have a hunch they are not to far off. Surprisingly, that hard rubber center on the tire does a great job in the rain and, get this, even on cooler pavement it is an amazing shoe for doing the twisties.. Only REALLY big issue (and one that will be a deal breaker if I ever have a redo because I MUST be able to do my own swaps) is there is NO WAY on Gods green earth that puppy is coming off there without a tire machine. On a Shink I could do a full rear swap in less than an hour. It took me all afternoon just to convince the E-4 that it wanted to go on the rim - SERIOUSLY!! Plus being it aint gonna slip the bead on a blow out I guess but WOWZY is that heavy duty thang!! Ooppsss,, I know,,, wayyy long winded,, sorry bout that. Hope this helps.. Puc P.S. - always LOVED your seat work brother!! Have recommended to MANY = GOOD JOB!!
  20. No doubt about it, front to back it is fairly easy to tell if you know what your looking for and you pay attention to detail!!
  21. ,,, ya did it again Duey,,, Negative Energy ,,,, (Start at 2 minutes) = "it's a beautiful Tank,,, IT'S A PIECE OF JUNK!!,, the fuel system leaks all over da place,,, always wid da negative waves!!!! Forward,,,, HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :guitarist 2::guitarist 2:
  22. I dont think that would be a problem Spence, the same guy you are talking about caught me Auctioning off his brand new Harley at this auction (see vid) down at one of his MD's a couple years ago and we still parted good buddies after that one.
  23. ""I have a really good friend who lives on the other side of Lake Michigan from me. It is rumored that he has a machine that produces what I call Wisconsin White Wash and he has also been working a new product that is high temp white wash. I recently heard rumors that there was a small explosion coming from his Laboratory last night as apparently, my buddy FlyinFool got some wires crossed and some high temp white wash chemicals mixed up with normal white wash chems. What you are seeing here is a result of that chaotic moment in time some 48 miles away from ground zero. As I said in the video, THANK YOU FlyinFool!!""
  24. Ahhh,, believe me Duey, you are more than welcome and, in fact, the pleasure is all mine brother!! I really need to say thank you to you here though as your timing is/was impeccable!! A friend e-mailed me this link this morning: https://www.starbikeforums.com/forums/130-venture-eluder/115866-i-just-discovered-very-unique-comparison-between-old-new.html which shows that not everyone appreciates my definition of the "finer art form" of living life large . Your comment put me back to equalibrium Duey!! Keep the faith,,, I sure am!!! Puc
