    De-linking has been done before. But the question would be why? It is a good system as it makes is a little more difficult to lock up the rear in a panic stop.

    Not trying to be smart butt.....but are ya sure its the brake warning light? Second, yes the light will come on with low fluid I believe...on my old bike way back when the light came on when the brake pads got thin as well. The level should be just below the top of the cap...gives room to expand a little. Also remember there are two masters..

    So, you said you soldered the thing right? Any chance there is a short somewhere when you hooked up the wiring to the back? I am fishing, but it almost sounds like a short somewhere along the wires. By the end of the day you should get more responses that may be more helpfull.

    The heal toe shifter is not standard on 1st gens. And the problem you describe is a known issue because of the heal toe on those bikes. I cannot answer the original question though. Maybe check ebay to see if there is a part to replace it.

    I too have bought several items from them. They are good to deal with and their closeouts or bargain basement has some outstanding deals.

    It looks only slightly worse than my bike after my dump. Cant believe they wrote that off! Mine is 3600 bucks to replace everything. Good deal there me thinks.

    I am not a police officer, but a corrections officer. I do know several police officers and a couple of people who wanted to be but got cut out. Know why they got cut for the most part? They lied..plain and simple white lies about old friends and some of the things we have all done as "kids". As mentioned, with a good check, and it should be, they will know or find out. Ya cant beat the poly either....ok, perhaps the odd true nutball can...but most get tripped up. Never have to worry about what ya said 30 questions ago if ya told the truth in the first place. I wish you good luck.....you have always sounded like an outstanding person who continues wanting to serve. Good on ya.

    Well, we do allow guns, handguns are a pain to transport and own, so only serious shooters have them. This was a double barrel shotgun they got.With the gang kids around here its probably about 20 inches long now and ready to rock and scare/hurt some poor kid at the local 7/11.

    Welcome. I would agree that its tough to get a good wrench now adays. But ask anything here....we mean anything. You will get help with any question.....if I answer any of them...better make sure someone else agrees with me before ya try the fix!!! There are many folk here who know these bikes and do everything themselves.

    First the whine Marilyn went out to the suv at 1 ish this afternoon, came back into the house and asked me if I had left it open last night? No...I said.....well we've been robbed she says! Dang....burgalers got into the thing throught the back top glass portion of the rear hatch and stole....her change and her MYFi satellite radio I got her for her bike and car. The police where here pretty quick...helps when ya know them all....and it also helps when the neighbor also got broken into and had a gun stolen from their car!!! They took a plastic item from Marilyn's vehicle in hopes that there are prints on it but they are not too hopeful.....they would seriously like to get that gun back though! Now...for the kudo's She called XM to deactivate the radio. They did so and when she explained that it was stolen they offered her a new myfi complete.....for 99 bucks plus shipping and then a 40 dollar credit to her account. This is a 350 dollar unit up here so I thought that was very good of them....whadya all think of that....oh yeah and no activation fee either. Spent the rest of the day in the Peace Gardens at the border with out kids and exchange student. Gotta have some good outta the whole thing. All in all....poor start but a good end so far.

    I've had my share of close calls with deer! I am so glad to hear that relatively, they are ok. That must of been pretty scary for both of them.

    I just kinda wander around the joint looking to see if trouble is brewing and making the staff nervous just by my precence! Its most fun....lol. Say hello now and then to the inmates locked up in the SHU, cause I gotta..."senior officer on duty must visit once per day to check up on their well being". Thas bout it. My last job took me to Germany and most of Europe, most of Canada and some of the western states. Much more interesting! 3 years 7 months and 17 days...but who's counting!

    Trailer for the first gen...swivel hitch...no problems...never dropped bike to test. Trailer for 2nd gen...no swivel....dumped bike...trailer hitch popped off the ball saving my frame. I am looking at a swivel. I personally believe in them. Many don't have em and do just fine.

    Its the week-end and it looks like you stumped us Frank! I would say no. But the starter from the vmax does and its a 4 brush as opposes to the two brush in the 1st gens.

    I might Monsta. I am still trying to decide that, my bike needs a paint touch up cause of my small dump in July. I was thinking of taking em off and getting some air brushing done in that area.

    It took me two times to get it right when I did mine. I missed some pins I guess. I did every pin I could find even if they didnt look bad. Thats over a year and no problems since.

    I've bought three jackets through newenough. Great deals and great prices. I have a 1stgear ballistic nylon I dont use much cus it shrunk..lol., a joe rocket complete mesh which is great in the heat, Marilyn has a Joe Rocket mesh with a liner that she actually prefers over her leather Joe Rocket in the heat.
