  1. Well.....Marilyn and I will be there for sure Ron! We should be done shopping by then...lol!
  2. Thats the reason we dont carry in our place. Our Emergency Response Unit now....well they have differant tools to ensure they always win! That was a fun part of career...I no longer do that work....got too old and fat....leave that for the young bucks. Now, I just call em in to take care of business and fill out the reports justifying my use of force!
  3. Exactly! Its the stuff on the roads...either salt, sand or ice and snow...it has to be gone before I will ride. The cold is not so bad.
  4. Sorry to hear of your friends passing! You did your best...remember that. How are you doing? Take care and our thoughts are with you and his family.
  5. ....Wow..dont do anything Don...those are some prices...10 grand just for moulds!! I never would have guessed it.
  6. Mike The attached link is in our tech section for 2nd gens. There is also the repair manual as well. Its in the column....diagrams and posted by Juggler. This link is the user manual. It may take a while if you dont have cable internet or something faster. http://labs.trunkful.com/LIT-11626-16-15_18.pdf
  7. I just reread that...your right Mark. I'm thinking, try under the seat connections...then dont mess anymore and take er in if its not working right. The radio does go bad sometimes.
  8. On my bike the cb went "out" on me a couple of times...I kept getting "cb error". Turns out it was a loose connection under the seat. I found that out after splitting the fairing and putting die-electric grease on all the connections up front. By no means not a waste of time anyway. Once someone pointed me to under the seat, I did that as well and have had no problems.
  9. They always come back dont they? One day somewhere someone turns em in or a sharp officer spots em....but they always come back! As for the officer...there is not much good I can say about that. Our women work very hard to get past the stigma of working in a male jail...this behaviour ruins it for all those honest ones that have done their best to do the job.....we have had a couple of those bad ones too Dan. They got run out as well. Make sure you make him a hot chocolate as a welcome back!
  10. Congrats to you and your family!
  11. Biggest mistake we new riders to the RSV do is...under rev it. Shifting too soon will make the bike appear to be a slug! Wind er up, she'll bark for ya...but it is a tourer and not a FJR or other sport bike. But it sure tries to be sometimes!
  12. Thanks for thinking of us Rick. Right now I cant look under the bike...it is stored with my other two in very tight quarters. I would have to remove the 1st gen. then hers to have a look. There is nothing but snow outside of the shed they are in. Looks like a wait until spring anyway. But this may work by the sounds of it. Thanks again.

    Black Owl

I got an email from him today...so he is alive and well...but really busy!
  14. I think that would be a great gift for Marilyn to get for me!
  15. Our thoughts go out to you Dic and Carol. Take care.
  16. Thanks Carl....I was pretty close...eh!
  17. I know that I would love to have this set up...in fact two of them if I could figure out how to make one set adapt for Marilyns vstar. Right now I just cant afford to get the things. Once things settle a little with my new to me trailer and getting Marilyns bike a hitch and wired and the intercom installed....gees what a list! Anyway...Rick...I hope you will make more later for those odd ones like me that just cant manage it right now. It is a good thing you do (as mentioned earlier)!
  18. Ok, lets clear this up as I understand bacon.... peameal is Canadian Back bacon with a coating of cornmeal. I dont like it but I do like back bacon. Back bacon is round and to me resembles ham. You find it most on eggs benedict. Normal bacon is just like everyone else eats....straight cut with lots of fat and lots of flavour....smoked, honey, maple......hmmm the best on a burger or BLT. I am gonna duck now......
  19. All the best Dennis....

  21. Not meaning to dis your heating guy Don, but have you really checked into goethermal? They will beat any furnace for energy savings. And thats up here...you know how cold it gets. And now that gas is going up.... Personally if I had the land space you have I would put in the thermal unit. There are at least 3 guys I work with that have it and swear by it. It is a little pricy to set up as you know.
  22. Ya thats it...got caught in the rain too many times! I'll stick with that!

  24. You've got to check out this site...great deals and good to deal with. Check their closeouts. www.newenough.com I've bought several jackets from them in the closeouts and have never been dissapointed. Here is one example http://www.newenough.com/closeouts/bargain_basement/cortech_by_tour_master/accelerator_textile_motorcycle_jacket.html
  25. It is funny how foods are.....there is no-one in this world that could make cinnamon buns that Mom made. Now there are some good tries out there but nothing quit like Mom did up. I loved sitting around the table while she made these things up. She and I would clean the bottom of the pan to scrape any left over cinnamon.brown sugar syrup that fell. Take care Gary.
