I think so too, but to be sure just get your adjustable out and put it over the bar and measure the space.- 3 replies

Couldnt tell ya, but there should be a round stamp or label that will say "energy conserving". Look at the regular oil to see what I mean. The one you want will have the label but the "energy conserving" words are missing.

Well, since Marilyn already has a bike I bought her drivers floor boards. Nothing mushy about those but its what she has hinted at for awhile now. Put on passenger floor boards two weeks ago as a neccessaty as our kids shoes where getting melted on the pipe. Almost out of things to get for her bike....i suppose I can find some other chrome do dads over the summer though. Getting your wife a bike would be awesome....expensive but then she is probably worth it.

It is nuts isnt it! I get alot of stuff from the internet and have learned to watch shipping carefully after a costly lesson. Now, poor black owl gets alot my stuff on his door stop.

I'll be on the Midnight RSV trying to keep up with the black 1100 vstar my wife drives!

Some have firmed up the base that way. I was going to, but after running to Colorado and back loaded to the hilt with no issues I decided just to leave it alone for now. Nothing wrong with doing that though and its still in the back of my simple mind.

Well....let me tell you how it feels getting one of those right tween the lookers! First of all you can see it coming from 3 miles away. It starts as a small dot.....quickly grows larger...then suddenly bam! feels like getting hit by a bird....thing is so hard it didnt even splat! Left a good welt...sort of like a horn starting! It was amazing watch this as it missed the windshield and my glasses and the rim of the helmet...almost like it flew just over the shield and back down to get me.

Last summer I switched seats with BigBob on our way to Colorado. He has the pillow top and me the normal. He hated my seat and his was ok. I still noticed that my tail bone started to ache after a bit. But I am a fat guy and so that probably has something to do with it. In Colorado I bought myself some car seat beads at Wallymart and have really noticed the differance. No more tail bone ache. They are cooler to the point of being cold if the weather is below normal. I used to swear by the sheepskin....but now only use it if its really cool out with no hope of warming up enough to make you sweat.

Steve You would look like Charlie (efishinc) when he arrives anywhere. One thing though, you have to get Charlie to tell how to pack the fishing gear too. The man could pack.....

I dont think it is chrome. But Wuzfuz mounted his chrome tongue from his piggy to the swivel. I would shoot him a question about how he did that.

Too much air in the front forks...shouldn't go more than 7lbs.

Does anyone have a good (cheap) source for crash bar clamps? I am looking for two so I can put the crash bar brace on my 05. I believe they are the 1 inch ones. They are pretty proud of them up here in the white north! Thanks

Would road damage to radiator be covered under warranty?

Sigh.....another one of those "love to have but just can't afford right now" things! If someone hadnt already called their bike "money pit", I sure would! lol. -
If they gave us your Veterans Day to go along with our Victoria Day we would have two long week-ends here! That would be great!

oil and air and seafoam
sarges46 replied to nowindinmyhair's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Yes there is an issue of overfilling. There are two lines on the site glass you should be on the lower half showing when the bike is level on center stand. If not then you will get oil blowing and cruding the airfilter and other things. Seafoam is a cleanser type thing. It works great to loosen crude in the carbs or any fuel part. It is normally expensive in Canada but can gotten at various dealers. If you go to the Seafoam site it will show you were you can get it locally. Myself I buy whenever I am in the US or a bud will bring some up for me when he comes to town. Its about half the price at Menards or Wallymart there. It can also be put into the oil for a very very short time.....like minutes just before a oil change and it cleans out a lot of crude there. Dont drive much with it in the oil though. -
What about the latest fuels for our bikes?

What about trying new plugs? Just a thought....but they do foul fairly easy. -
Or the trailer! When we had only one bike....I would get one saddlebag and she would get the other. Trunk was for bike stuff. I did carry one sleeping bag on the trunk rack as well but that was not for camping that was for the cabin. The sleeping bag (and sheet) was placed into a plastic garbage bag and then into its carrier. The other clothes went into venture line saddle bag bags. It should stay dry. I have to admit that after that one long trip, I wasnt long getting a trailer though! Much easier specially if camping.

No it doesnt...but I have bought a swivel from Neosho. It has a nylon insert with a solid bar through that. The nylon insert is for sizing and can be shaved down to fit the piggy. So I have been told. ...most of my stuff I ordered over the winter is still in BlackOwls possesion or with the camper I'm picking up May long week-end.
