I think to get at the mirrors you need to remove the signal lights at the front.

HELP - Plastic Repair Tips Needed!
sarges46 replied to Christo's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Scroll down and you will see many posts about plastic repair items. It shouldnt be a problem to fix by Monday. -
Last May I flew from Winnipeg, Manitoba to Atlanta, Ga. Took my helmet and riding jacket, couple changes of "shorts" and socks. All went into the various airplanes I rode in with no issues. But, a quick phone call might clear up anything. We flew to Vegas this spring and there is nothing new....get rid of anything that remotely resembles a weapon or pointy. Any liquids....better off just not taking them. Anything that fits in the overhead can be brought aboard. Helmets fit...usually...or under the seat.

Excellent news! Some things take time...

Bad for the families...I feel for them. I am also glad your son was not injured, but, he will need some time to recover from witnessing that tragedy.

Are there driver peg relocating kits for the ...
sarges46 replied to GigaWhiskey's topic in Watering Hole
Do they have the pegs or floor boards? Driver floorboards are fairly cheap, look good and are very functionable. Got a set for Marilyn's 1100 and she loves them. They might be the answer.- 5 replies

Never understood vandalism at all. Sorry to hear that Don. Hope you can find a good fix.

Our thoughts for a speedy recovery! Sure glad it wasnt worse. Sorry about the bike though....looks like you have a passenger for awhile.

If you look close at Bob's bike you will also notice that his other "Chrome" add ons are hand made by himself as well. Plus he's got cool lights around the engine and cup holder. Oh, and he made that trailer too!

Sorry to hear this Brian! Was this the accident we were briefed about Tuesday morning before the ride to Niagra? That is so sad. Our thoughts are with you.

We rolled in at 2330 (11pm) Wed. It took us 5 days to get back. Really took our time. riding back was lousy actually...only 1 real good day..the rest were cold or wet. I am so proud of our kids....they logged over 3000 miles and no complaints about riding at all!! Great troopers...and that goes for Sarah (gunboats little one) and Baxter (Nathans little one). Trips the kids will remember for ever. Thanks to the organizers for a great rally! Thanks to all those that put up with us dragging the kids along. Thanks to Hal for carting Courtney along to Niagra...she still talks about it! Thanks to Nathan and Baxter and Jessica for letting the kids tag along last week to the water park! Yes she did sleep about half the trip home too! Thanks to Gambler for finally figureing out my wiring problem on my passing lights! What a great family to belong to...take care all of you! It sure was nice to meet you all!

Gees...Pete! Thats good luck there. I now almost refuse to drive bike at night because of too many deer close calls. Glad you didnt wreck. Were would Courtney go to see tame elk!

All our thoughts are with you both! Thanks for keeping us informed.

is everyone close to the fires in California all ok?
sarges46 replied to friesman's topic in Watering Hole
My sister lives in Lake County. She reports that they are almost surrounded by fires and the smoke is really bad. No evacuation yet but she says that could change any time. -
Gees....good news sort of.... Sure glad you are both ok, thats the good part. But...hitting a deer...not so good news!

WOW...that is awful. What was that driver thinking I wonder?

drivetrain noise
sarges46 replied to gator37's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Are you sure its from the rear end? This sounds like a speedo cable squeek if you arent positive its back end. When my 89 started the rear end noise it was more of a grinding....thought I needed a new joint as well...turns out it just needed some grease. And I couldnt hear it at speed...just when rolling or pushing the bike. -
I dunno Gary....you got pretty good kids there! Congrats on selling the truck though...sure is a beauty!
-
Not the ones these guys are talking about. You need baker air wings for a first gen. I had those on my 89....they work great! Cool air in the heat and keeps the cook air off when closed.Good for the knees!

My Air Canada saga (otherwise known as Las Vegas, Part Deux)
sarges46 replied to a topic in Watering Hole
Go get em Lou! And all the best of luck to you. Air Canada can be frustrating to say the least. -
Glad that you are ok. Sorry about the bike. Since I've taken up riding, I am more aware of bikes all the time while driving my cage. I even go so far as to say out loud before pulling out....no bikes? If alone I will ask myself this and really look again for the one I may have missed with the first glance. I imagine they feel bad.

Boy, that sounds like a great ride! We are about 90 miles north of Rugby ND, so dont forget to wave as you drive by! The little restraunt on the south side of highway 2 (corner of Highway 3 and 2) at Rugby is a good spot to eat. Its the geographical center of Norht America. You cant miss it. If you need help anywhere in this area give us a call as I have 3 full days off before we leave for Kitchner. 204-726-8818, 204-573-8436 Another thing.....judging by where you are leaving from and going to, you may try and drive in the later evening and end up near Devils Lake later in the day. Don't! The deer are killers along highway 2 in the early morning and evenings (dusk).
