Intercom mounting on RSTD
sarges46 replied to eazyduzzit's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Ya wouldnt happen to have a pic do you JT? What model intercom system it this one? -
Whatever its worth....thats a nice looking set up for sure! Just checked ebay quickly....not many in that year but there was a couple. With the trailer.....I would think somewhere in the 10-12 k range. It also depends on what kind of trike kit is on it. Some are way more expensive than others.

high pitched sound at ~60 mph

On my first 2nd gen (05 midnight) I had metzlers (came with the bike). But as they wore I had a terrible howl when cornering. I changed them when I found a nail in the rear and went to the avon....the new owner still has em on and is pleased. My current bike has avons on it and I like em alot. -
We camp alot during our journeys. Marilyn tows the cargo trailer with all the clothing, kids tents and some bedding with her vstar and I have the camper. In the camper are the camp things. Stove, pots/pans, rope, dishes and some other light stuff like blankets and pillows extension cords. I also have 4 foot table and folding chairs that I put on top of the camper. We primarly stop at KOA because its reliably well taken care of. Some are differant in how they price for us. We;ve had to pay for two sites because the kids have a tent of their own or sometimes they just charge us the family rate. Each one is a little differant. We've also stopped in small towns and camped. I like that actually....usually very cheap and the wood is almost always free. We stop or attempt to stop for the night well before dark. I hate trying to find a place and set up after dark! All places should have a shower and fire rings...these are important for us. Mostly we eat our while travelling. But always have our camp coffee maker with us for those wake up calls! If we have a long run to make or are trying to make up time we will stop every second day in a hotel. This lets us ride a little later and makes it easier to pack up in the morning for an earlier start. Currrently we have a older bunkhouse camper and are very very seriously looking at a new camper from Rolla-Home the wide bed model. I wont camp in a tent any more. Just too miserable I guess, I hate having to try and get dressed and put boots on while sitting on a airmattress! And I hate spending a bunch of time setting up and taking down. Does that help any?

Great Gary! I sure wish I hadnt put away our bikes. Its been just gorgeous here...very very unseasonable. I thought for sure after our first snow that that was it. Wish i had a garage so we could get back on the road again for a little ride.

Don That is the tri-service badge. It covers all branches of the armed forces......Generals have the this badge,...so do recruits in basic training once they learn to salute. Once they have learned their trade then they get the unit cap badge. I guess it would work...it just doesnt signify any specific branch. Thanks for thinking of us up here.

RCHA- Royal Canadian Horse Artillery top writing on the badge.....Latin-Ubique...Everywhere Bottom Latin- quo fas et gloria duc.u.n.t....whither right and glory lead I have to spell the last word that way or it gets edited and you know why!

Front as low as 0 to max of 7lbs Rear.... It all depends on how you like the ride. Best to experiment.....sorry for the poor answer.

Marilyn rides as well....RSV is too big for her...she can get it off the side stand but is seriously tippy toed. In a pinch she could get it home if I fell off and couldnt up again. She has a vstar right now and is looking at a newer bike in a couple of years.

What a shame Buddy. We hope it all works out for the best. Health first then the toys. Not much sense having toys sitting around if you cant use them.

SO! What are the AGES of the DRIVERS of VR.Org?

51 and knees are going....I sound like a rice krispy when I get up and snore like a RSV with nasty boys on! -
I've asked myself many times about the wobble and why. The only thing I could come up with is this...and I may be out to lunch like many times before! I wonder if the side wall on the car tire is soft enough to amplify any minor wobble into one big one? I dont know the differance between a car tire side wall and mc sidewall but I suspect the mc tire is much stiffer therefore has less flex sideways. Fill me in, correct me as I live to learn new things.

BigBobs crash happened last Sept on our way to Pork in the Pines. He had installed a car tire and was telling me just prior to leaving Devils Lake that he was going to "hit it" as he was experiancing a wobble at speeds and trying to get the pressure right. From the witnesses travelling behind him it was like a gust of wind took him and he went into a tank slapper and was done. Scared me enough to not want the car tire either. I had been seriously thinking of it. To those that have it...I am truly glad you are able to enjoy the ride...but it is not going to happen for me. I am glad you recovered from your near miss...that could have left a mark or two besides in the shorts.

Man oh man!! Some of you boys sure havent gotten any better looking since we seen ya last! The ladies on the other hand are still looking fine!

One of the tires off of one of those cars cost more than my "garage", a little 12 x 16 shed!

Well if I hadnt bought one this summer for a similar price I would be all over it like a fat kid on a smartie! Thats a good deal RR....someone will snap it up. I really like the corbin. My kid doesnt think much of the hard seat though and had to have a sheep skin on to protect his skinny butt! Then again we put close somewhere around 5k miles on our 3 week road trip this year.

Congrats Dan! That is good news.....I think. I dont know much about your pension and can only hope its good enough to afford gas. Its gotta be good to be outta the joint...I cant wait. Dont forget your rubber gloves for those searches at wallymart!

Very good that she is around to torture you some more! What can you say....beg her to quit.....she would likely resent you after awhile. I am nervous for Marilyn as well but now I know how she feels when I go riding as well. I must say I am proud of how well she rides.....if her time comes....it is what it is. The Lord knows...not me.

Just got one for Marilyn's vstar. Not the cheapest but it is very nice and she was tired of the old stuff not being weather proof.

Cigarette Lighter
sarges46 replied to starkruzen's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I just bought this for Marilyn's vstar. She needed something that was weather proof and this seemed like the cats meow. http://motorcycle-accessories.cruisercustomizing.com/search?lbc=cruisercustomizing&uid=329395573&ts=custom&w=Motorcycle%20Lighter&af=&isort=score&method=and&view=list&model_id=0&searchtype=Products&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.CruiserCustomizing.com%2Fdetail.cfm%3FCategory_ID%3D53%26manufacturer_ID%3D16%26product_ID%3D26911%26sblid_name%3DKuryakyn_Universal_Handlebar_Electrical_Power_Point_____inch_bars&rk=1&rsc=RPSW1jzhAISvcyvR&p=R Yes it is a little more, but sometimes when you pay peanuts ya get monkeys!- 15 replies

Rerouting throttle cable
sarges46 replied to venture101's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I messed with mine this summer. I could not get it to work right. I ended up coming through the inside of the fork as opposed to the outside. If you look close you can see it and it does look a little funny. But it works until I can think of something else. This is the second bike I've had with the risers, the first one gave me no trouble at all, I just loosed the cables a bit and wiggled them around and all was good. This one, not so much. -
Never mind ya ole hoot.....I remember you oggling one of those beamers at the bike show in Winnipeg one year! Ifin ya had longer legs you would likely be riding one me thinks! I dont need to know the numbers as long as Don has enough to run the site...thats all thats important. Like Bubber, this place has cost me thousands and thousands of dollars! But, it would have cost me many more thousands if you all werent here to bail me out several times!
-
I wish we could bail on this frozen wasteland myself! Enjoy it you guys.
