Shouldnt worry about it. Marilyn has em on her vstar and loves the way they handle. The vstar is a much lighter bike. I think our bike was just too dang heavy for the older metz.

I too would not cross the mountains in May that far north. I have done it in June and encountered snow...lots of it as you get higher and higher. The farthest south you can cross would be my advice....cross and get to the coast and its a wonderful drive....busy but very scenic.

Our fingers and toes are crossed for you Annie! Wearing all that hardware cant be easy and even more tough to ride with!

weird problem with passenger head set
sarges46 replied to Gary N.'s topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
Mine was doing that as well Gary. It turned out to be the cord, it had a bad wire in it from bending too much I guess. It was bad right near where it connects to the helmet. Bought a new cord and all was well. -
Our thoughts are with you guys.

Yikes! Good thing it didnt pick that time to have a big yawn! Good riding to get over that!

If the cb shows the rx that means its getting a signal from an outside source. This will mute your radio while the cb is receiving. Try turning the squelch until this dissappears. I get it from overhead lines sometimes or if there are more powerful cb's in the area with a close channel. Adjusting the squelch has always worked for me.

or try wingthings Gary. They sell 5 pin stuff real cheap. sorry Gary its wingstuff and I checked and they dont have just the cords for 5 pin.

Thats not a bad price Dan. Just check out craiglook and see what they are asking for them on average.

We tried the cheap stuff for Marilyns bike. They didnt work and we ended up with the same system as you are looking at. We liked it so much we cut the cable accidently last year in Arkansas and had to buy a new head assembly for it! It works great and Mom and daughter can talk with each other and listen to tunes..she plugs her satelite radio into it. Plus she knows whats going on and can talk with the other riders. Its a worthwhile investment in my opinion.

We are just about out the door. Going to Port Washington Wis. to pick up our new Rolla-Home camper. Stopping tonight in Mpl. Going to hook up with a old bird for breaky and then off to Wis. Sunday. Moving into Red1's place for a couple of years then finding someone else to scrounge from. Grandpagak is next then home for some riding as the weather should have melted the rest of the snow. Black Envoy towing black little camper should be quit a sight!

I am not a Viet Nam vet but did serve and I have one of those in a little box with my dog tags. It was a handy item to have. Now we have a fancy can opener in the camper.

Very nice! Enjoy your new ride.

Mountain scenary is wonderful. Riding the mountains is fun with the twisties and all. I would agree though, that it requires alot of attention to the road riding in those areas and much is missed. Nice rolling hills and big sweepers are great. And just to confuse everyone a little more about me......the great expanse of the prairies is something to behold. But the road does get long when you can see your destination first thing in the morning and not get there until the evening! lol

Thanks guys. I will be the one at the bar! Marilyn and the kids will be riding...they love riding those crazy rides more than waterpark stuff. To me it wouldnt matter as I dont care for waterpark rides either! I do enjoy watching them have a good time and people watching while they are doing that. I will check out the ideas. I really do like the state park thing. We have used state parks several times and have yet to find a bad one. Boo, if we are that close we could take a ride over to say howdy.

On our way home from the International this year we plan on stopping at six flags at Gurnee Ill just north of Chicago. We want to camp with our camper and were wondering if anyone has any advice on this. The original plan was to stop at the Wisconsin Dells but you know how plans change.

MAC is also coming along as a good knife according to some reports. The biggest thing I saw reading some reviews was that a knife is a personal thing and one should test drive one to see if it feels right in your hand. I googled this stuff to see whats out there.....its mind boggling...and my mind cant keep up!

Pretty much the same bike. Check the trunk mounts for issues. Levelling system only works with the key in the ACC location. Stand it up on the center stand to work this, its easier on the system. CB working? It looks like he has replaced the side covers with a after market system that will prevent some heat from getting to your legs. Cruise works? Looks to have some additions on the back that would cost a fortune now a days. Nice looking from way over here!

Our little girl has been riding with either me or Mom since she was 8. Always had arm rests and they were fine. I dont thing you want them to lock in place either (po). You want them to swing out so the passenger can get them out of the way if required to step off the bike. Marilyn went down in Ontario a couple of years ago with our daughter on the back. She locked her front tire in the rain at a slow speed. Daughter swung out that rest and stepped off the bike as if she had done it a million times. No damages besides one scared little girl! We actually encouraged her to swing the arms in so kind of cross at her mid section, this is in case she falls asleep, it gives some stability from falling off! She falls asleep by the time we get down the street a couple of blocks!!

Congrats you guys! Are you moving in soon? Oh and Gord and Laura are taking that camper of mine. We are heading to Wisconsin at the end of the month to get the new one!
