  1. Made his own single wheel thing that looks a little like that. He reports the handling on the road as great. He also reports trouble getting the bike off the side stand when the trailer is loaded and some slow speed turn issues.....it wants to fall over. You can contact him for more details.
  2. Aww man! I feel for you having to witness what you saw. There have always been tough things to deal with in life....bad things involving kids has to be the worst. Its just not fair is it? I dont have any words to comfort you. You did what you could for the father they can be greatful for that. I guess you know that there was nothing you could do for the little guy....he is with his Mom now... Keep talking with buddies or even the pros if this continues to eat you up. Stuff like this can tear a persons mind up pretty bad. You did the right thing by coming here to perhaps get some words that may comfort you. Dont avoid talking.....we know holding it in will be worse in the long run. It will be a long night......hopefully not to many for you.
  3. Well, we are glad it all "worked" out! All kidding aside, you are right, it is a very important part of your health check up. I didnt have any polyps, but I had something the opposite, instead of growing inside my little "growths" grew to the outside. Not an issue says the doc unless one should decide to rupture and spew toxic waste into my abdominal cavity! My doc actually managed to get that camera into my small intestine a ways....that was my problem with severe cramping until I could get rid of the gas.
  4. Warranty ...shouldnt cost a dime.
  5. Man oh man oh man :bang head: Dont get us Canucks going on the insurance thing! 259 a year!
  6. What about a carb sync and then maybe this tech article in the tech part for 2nd gens. Read through it and there is a part about tightening the nuts in a sequence to ensure proper alignment. http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1705
  7. They put you to sleep to do those? Dang......I never knew.
  8. Yeppers...me too....both ends same day....differant hoses I think! Better than than the possible alternative things that many men die of.
  9. That really sucks. Sure hope it all works out in the end. Take care.
  10. Well, Gary...I hope you are feeling better today. I think you sneezed something this way! I came home from work this morning....I cant get my butt off the can!
  11. We are all sorry for you having to sell the bike. But, we are also glad it remained "in the family" so to speak. And you are right...it will get better eventually.
  12. Ahhh yes...the good ole soccer game! Good time to invest or make plain the virtures of a good cup and shin guards! Those little feet get wild at times! One thing for sure...you always know where the ball is......thats where the kids are all gaggled together! Great fun to watch em.
  13. Dang that sucks big time! I hope you manage to find the parts needed.
  14. Glad to see you made it home Owen. It was nice to meet you in PIP.
  15. "Rick for your tie down expertise" Besides being nice to hear from you I now can rest easy knowing that the damn thing didnt fall off! It was nice to see you both and we'll hook up in Cody to bring that ole seat back home.
  16. Not many here use them. From what I've heard they are not so good. If you plan on riding with other ventures I would suggest the J+M brand of communication. I have tried many other cheap ones in the past on my wife's bike only to suck it up and get the more costly but far superior j+m.
  17. Pretty cheap here Mike http://www.yamahasportsplaza.com/pages/parts/viewbybrand/default.aspx
  18. If it's any consolation Evan, my front seems a little lighter when towing the camper. It was fine when we went to the International and I had the son on back. This last trip to PIP, no son with me and I noticed it was a little light in the front. I didnt lower the rear shock pressure from when I had the boy on back so maybe that was it. Sometimes these things take a little trial and error to get that just right feeling for you. I am running 50lbs in the rear and 2 in the front. Of course that won't mean anything to you with the first gen but at least it is a little easier to mess with the pressures.
  19. Good going Sleepy! Our little girl just donated hers last month. It took her the better part of 2 years to get it to the right length...what with cutting the frizzies out all the time! We are proud of her for doing this and we are proud of you as well. I believe the minumum is 12 inches.
  20. Lets just say that the whoomp attracted most of us from around the camp fire. We had to check on the shop crew to make sure all was good.
  21. They are somewhat adjustable but perhaps not enough to suit you. They will go up and down and the grip portion also adjusts. I cannot say that I've heard of risers for this bike.
  22. Did he wreck the pan? If not maybe it can be repaired by Rick Butler?
  23. We were taking about Lowell at PIP. Everyone had a kind word and only the best wishes for him to get back to it....we know what it that is...riding and flirtin!
  24. Marilyn and I rolled in about two hours ago. Got unpacked and had a shower to warm up. Yes we had rain....not bad but from Devils Lake rest stop to about two miles south of the border. We had supper with Paul (Rocket) and left him as he headed west along highway 2. It was a cold wet ride that last bit. It was a great PIP again. It is sure wonderful to everyone that makes it there. Poor Owen drives a gazillion mile only to be greeted by the coldest nights ever! What a trooper for making to the event. Ahhh....the beer...well it was marked beer on the pack and MGD to boot. I didnt read enough...couldnt get past the cheap sticker price....needless to say I didnt even drink one! Gord offered me a sip of the one and only can taken. Can you say yuck! I've had bad beer...but that was awful! It was also a shame for the 3 gents who got sicker than mangy dogs....maybe Anne should have just shot poor ole Bubber! Cant wait to Cody and then the next PIP! Take care all and thanks again Anne and Gary! oh ya....and Chris who is the pig grilling master!
  25. Well we are keeping our fingers crossed for our US friends. And while we are at it there is a possibility that the thing might hit the east coast of Canada too. Our thoughts are with you guys there as well. Batten down and then move out!
