  1. Yikes lock the doors....waiting for the third thing can make ya nuts! We do hope for better for you though...truly. Take care.
  2. Thanks Gil! Yes, Marilyn has her own bike. Those that have ridden with her can say "that girl can ride". I can say "stop and smell the roses sometimes!" She can ride and ride and ride. She handles her bike very well and has even towed a cargo trailer with it with the daughter riding shotgun. Her bike is a 1100 vstar. Just the right height and weight and enough power to get her around. Starting off she had a 1000 virago. It was a great little bike but was getting old and was a little light on the highway. She found herself getting blown around a bit. Now for the the hidden meat of the question me thinks. Is it nerve racking? Darn straight it is...Marilyn normally leads as I have the camper in tow and I read somewhere that the trailers should bring up the rear. It gets the heart going when we see something developing and wondering if she sees the same thing and can she avoid it.... deer, coyote (2-3of them last trip), cars turning. All that stuff. Relax...enjoy the ride together, if its meant to be then it will be.
  3. So sorry to hear this. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
  4. Close call! It is amazing though, what those docs can do and how fast the recovery is! We are glad to hear your story...it might smarten up some of us who insist on ignoring those little signs!

  7. Our 03 Envoy.....loaded nice ride but..... 3 alternators catalatyc converter various modules that control rear wiper, heated seats, this that and another thing! Brakes (normal I guess) air conditioner lines...both front and rear. Air conditioner compressor power steering pump twice check engine light mostly always on..started when we got command start installed. Would I buy another....no frigging way! But it sure is a nice ride! Oh,,,, gas mileage sucks!
  8. Wow that sucks! I remember that car getting the striping done. We are wishing nothing but the best for Tom. Hope he's feeling better and home soon!
  9. I was a young soldier stationed in Vancouver. I decided to take the bus home to Manitoba for Christmas. What a miserable trip (one I would never do again). That year Mom decided to gift each of us a 1000. dollars! Wow, I knew just what I would do with part of that. I booked a flight back to Vancouver so I wouldnt have to ride the bus again. Plus this gave me a couple extra days home. This turned out to be our last Christmas with Mom as she passed away the following Rememberance Day.
  10. Well to this uneducated eye...the straight pieces look like the metal stuff that joins ducting together and the round things look like the "punch" outs from electrical boxes.
  11. Very nice Larry! Can't wait to see it all done up.
  12. Done:)
  13. Any more word on how she is doing! Our thoughts are with her and all the family.
  14. Ouch! Road rash has got to hurt some me thinks! Sorry to hear about this...glad you are around to tell the tale though!
  15. Thanks guys! Earl, I will look at getting one down the road. We will be travelling south this winter for a week and I usually bring back parts when we come home. This will not be repaired now until spring as the bike is tucked away. I have no garage just a shed so nothing gets done until the white stuff is gone now. I have been searching for the part to get a look see at the cost but I can't seem to find such a beast! can you give me a part number or another name it goes by.
  16. While putting the bike away for its yearly rest....darn winter anyway! I noticed that my clutch fluid is gone again. This happened in Prince Edward Island this summer after the International. I cannot find any spots where this stuff is disappearing to! Just for tips I did change the clutch plates and spring while at the International. Can someone shine a light on in this dark room inside my head!
  17. Our thoughts go out to all of them!
  18. Our thoughts are with him. We hope all went well with the surgery!
  19. Gotta be the plates of spring. Change em both using the kits Skydoc has, well worth it. Heck I even did mine in the parking lot during the International this summer. If I can do it then any one that can carry a wrench can! Read his instructions well and make sure to line up the little dots ...I wouldn't know what happens if you don't but I heard the clutch lever can't even be depressed if its lined up wrong.
  20. Wow, we are sure glad that you are getting along so well! That sounds like one nasty crash!
  21. Nice to hear from you personally Larry! Take care and heal well. We are so glad things weren't worse!
  22. Marilyn and I send our best wishes for a speedy recovery Larry! Dang that sucks but we are most happy that it wasn't worse!
  23. Sorry to hear this Taz. Our thoughts are with your family. Even expected it still leaves a whole in your heart. Take care all of you.
  24. The only thing I believe to be true is if there is a C then it is a California bike. What that means I have no idea but I have heard it relates to emissions. Carbs set up different? Most all the parts work together with any other bike without the C.
  25. Who did you send in for the interview? Was it really you...I mean...er well never mind! Way to go Bubber!! We are both very happy for you.
