  1. Thanks all. good news! bolt came loose with my 1967 impact driver. too bad no one suggested that I sell mine and buy a new star venture. Probably would have taken that suggestion. .. VentureFar...
  2. Agrengs this appears to be the easiest plan B. plan a is I found my 50 year old impact wrench. Just locating a 5mm 3/8 drive now. thanks for the suggestion. Or plan c. Just don’t change my spark plugs. VentureFar...
  3. I am remembering that I have an impact driver left from my teen years. I’ll try that first. Venturefar...
  4. Thanks but the head is too strong to pinch.
  5. 2007 RSV front right gas tank bolt won’t come loose and is stripping. how do I get it out? if I slot the head with a dremmel will the rest Of the head be strong enough to Handle the more than 62ft pounds to unscrew it. Just barely got the left side out they were out 20,000 miles ago. Guess I should have replaced them with headed bolts then. how do I proceed @cowpuc ? thanks VentureFar...
  6. Here is a photo from 2008 I found with two long distance riding buddies with beer keg style aux gas on Honda shadow 1100's That was a fun and very long day. I rode from Denver to Kenton OK, saw some petroglyphs and dinosaur tracks and then headed back to denver. The owner of the bike on the left never needed any sleep. He would head out for a 15 or 20 hour ride and then on his way home detour on a 1000 mile loop... and never stop to sleep. That ain't me. VentureFar...
  7. ha, if there was then @cowpuc would be a poor man having ridden through all 50 states. VentureFar...
  8. Thanks, couldn't have done it without you :-)

  10. go to the iron butt website And check out the Mile water long sleeve shirt. Love it!!
  11. I stupidly pasted a photo and that really messed things up. I am reposting without the photo. Hopefully a Moderator deleted my mistake Hey Pasta' it is me, Puc's younger brother by a different mother. This is the ultimate gas container for a bike but you will have to wait until they get it re certified. CARB changed the specs and their gas can meets the specs but has to be tested. Covid 19 halted all CARB testing. As soon as it is certified, this is your gas can. https://www.reda.co/reda-gas-can check the dimensions to make sure they it will fit in your side bag(s) Waiting to get mine, I use 2 MSR bottles. That gives just under 1/2 gallon. If I mis calculated my gas stop by 20 miles I deserve to walk! On my trips to Sturgis I have done legs at 50mph to to get the planned distance but those legs were sooooooooo boring, I decided to not do that anymore. Very important you don't overfill any of these bottles. If you get gas on their sides, especially the plastic container, it will retain the gas smell. Not following my own advice, I carry a pouch of baby wipes to get most of the smell off when the gas bubbles out of the filler when putting the gas in. Patience is a virtue here. Go slow and stop often, and don't come any near the "fill line" - its too late and you start cussing like Puc every time he gets to a state that requires a helmet.... If I am trying to totally skip a gas stop I strap a 2.5 gallon gas can on my trunk rack. Remember that if you are documenting an IronButt you have to document where you put in the extra gas, how long it took and why you chose to skip a gas station. I just noticed that IronButt assoc now allows for online documentation instead of USPS. If I wasn't so old, I would do another, just for fun. Crud, now you got me thinking........ VentureFar...
  12. https://www.venturerider.org/forum/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=1083790 I pasted a photo instead of uploading. Now the thread times out and I can't edit it. Someone please take out the photo, or the whole reply if you have to. Sorry ......:-( VentureFar...

  15. I just got in for @cowpuc and everyone’s reading pleasure, the Cruz tools road tech M3 tool kit to review. Since it is supposed to be an on the road tool kit with spark plug tools I figured that changing plugs on my venture would be a good review test. But I don’t know the part number of the iridium plugs for my 2007 royal star venture. Someone please advise. Thanks. VentureFar... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. This is their first run at helmets so I imagine they will have more color choices in the future. VentureFar...
  17. Without earplugs and I wear hearing aids when not in a helmet. My hearing is the old guy kind. Hear better and don’t say “what” all the time with the hearing aids in. So with my diminished old age hearing loss I was quite surprised that I could turn up the volume too loud. That is rare. VentureFar... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Hello all, I just got a chance to spend some quality time with the new Sena OutRush built in bluetooth modular helmet. @cowpuc I hope this review lives up to your high bar expectations. https://ultimatemotorcycling.com/2020/08/04/sena-outrush-helmet-review-smart-modular-motorcycle-helmet/ It is an inexpensive way to get into a bluetooth and modular at the same time. Comments welcome as always. VentureFar...
  19. Awesome. As I read your post I opened the app and it told me that my tires are 36.3 each. Don't have to even open the garage door! Although I do have to put the phone right up to the door as the rear tire is right at the edge of the reception/transmission range. But don't have to open it :-) I hope you like it as much as I do. 20. I don’t se a reason for me to get the T. For the one time per month or so that I need to fill I will just unscrew the FOBO. They will have saved me so much time “checking “ pressure that I don’t mind the one time per month. but that is just me. VentureFar...
  21. MOM stop kissing me in front of my friends! VentureFar...
  22. In 2018 when I was on my test Iron Butt with the Star Venture TC I was on the phone with Puc and he asked me to do this torque test. i10 freeway between LA and Phoenix with speed limit of 75 ( I think) he asked me to slow to 25mph is 5th. I think it took me 15 minutes to find a hole in the traffic where I could slow to 25 on the freeway. No matter how big the gap is, if you slow to 25mph on an interstate the pack catches up with you mighty quick. He was doing the timing and I was calling out the speeds. I seem to recall it took 18 seconds to get back up to 75 but I could be mistaken. Anyway, I couldn't have asked for a more fun "riding partner" on a lonely stretch of road than Puc. Keep us honest and speak "truther". VentureFar...
  23. Puc you are embarrassing me. Because of the way you praise me, everyone is thinking you are my Mother. Next you will be kissing me good bye in front of all my friends....... you are going to get me beat up:bighug::bighug:
