FYI gators slice the droplets because they are so porous. Valve masks send your own breath straight out into the air. The whole purpose of masks is to protect the OTHER GUY from you. just saying but not trying to start a mask war. Just curious how many people got Covid from sturgis. VentureFar...

Kevlar lined riding jeans review - if you are interested
VentureFar replied to VentureFar's topic in Watering Hole
Yes thanks. The be alert to evacuate line is two miles away but a long two miles of dense population and lots of fire hydrants. There is zero wind. So we are ok. Thanks for inquiring. VentureFar... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 11 replies

Yes it is all it is cracked up to be. This thing is awesome. Moves a lot of the usefulness of your smartphone over to a glove friendly 5.5 inch screen. Texts and notifications are read to you. control your music etc. Hope you like my review. Comments are always welcome. https://ultimatemotorcycling.com/2020/09/10/garmin-zumo-xt-review-motorcycle-specific-gps-navigation/ VentureFar...

Kevlar lined riding jeans review - if you are interested
VentureFar replied to VentureFar's topic in Watering Hole
Good question. but hikers pants won't even protect you from a bee sting much less the asphalt. OUCH> You will want to hope it is a warm day that you get rained on because they will soak up the water just like any other denim AND the inner liner too. My suggestion is that if you might encounter rain then bring your rain gear. I do. Venture has enough room for the kitchen sink, so I carry that too..... Seriously, I only wear riding jeans on obvious dry days or when carrying rain gear. In my case I wear the Joe Rocket alter ego 4 jacket so I have the outer for the top - which if it is cool or cold, I was already wearing - and is water tight. for the bottom I would carry Joe rocket overpants for rain or cold or both. Boots are already waterproof. If I think it is going to rain a bit, I will wear my Spidi H20 out pants that have openable flaps for wind cooling and are 98 % waterproof except for the crotch in heavy downpours. If I am going to be riding in the rain, I will wear my Joe Rocker overpants. VentureFar...- 11 replies

Kevlar lined riding jeans review - if you are interested
VentureFar replied to VentureFar's topic in Watering Hole
My research found regular jeans will tear through in 3 feet and Kevlar reinforced in 22 feet, done by a drag test of a 75 pound bag dragged behind a pickup that’s a lot of skin if you are even going 20mph when your rear meets the asphalt. Not think of 70mph. if you are a beanie, t shirt and jeans rider then you have made your Safety choice. If you wear a full face and riding jacket then why aren’t you protecting your lower half? It is only 1600 miles from you to Sturgis. It is a great adventure and worth putting on the bucket list. VentureFar...

I am skeptical of the large number but picking up and carrying it back home IS "getting" it, just asymptomatic carrier. Again, I am just curious about our group, not trolling for a fight. VentureFar...

Kevlar lined riding jeans review - if you are interested
VentureFar replied to VentureFar's topic in Watering Hole
I hear you and I am in the same price level for jeans, but jeans don't protect your skin at 70 mph or even 20 mph. Like I said in the article, you can justify this purchase because they are dual purpose, riding and "dress up". As we all know, good gear is expensive. The kevlar jeans I am now tossing out I bought in 2009 ! That's your $20 jeans "per year" :-) There's a thought - what size jeans do you wear? VentureFar...- 11 replies

If you did, did you come down with Covid? I just read a report that " as many as 250,000" contracted Covid from Sturgis. First, I hope not. Second that would have been 1 out of 2 people attending. This is not a political discussion. I am just wondering if YOU went, did you avoid Covid or did you get it? Thanks for sharing. VentureFar...

Hi all, I had the good fortune to review the IXS Kevlar and coolmax riding jeans. They are awesome. As they should be for the price. But they are literally so nice that you can wear them off the bike as really nice/comfortable jeans. https://ultimatemotorcycling.com/2020/09/07/ixs-classic-ar-cassidy-motorcycle-jeans-review-safety-fashion/ Hope you like the review. if she comes up lame and the hose to inflate tire from CLASS system in a pinch doesn't work, do you put her out of her misery with the 9mm? VentureFar.... -
Hi all, Just sharing that I did a review of the CruzTools metric roadside repair tool kit if you are interested. I for one am interested to see what my Brother @cowpuc carries for roadside emergency repairs besides a bottle of Chardonnay, two chairs and an AMA roadside assistance membership...:bighug: https://ultimatemotorcycling.com/2020/09/01/cruztools-roadtech-m3-metric-tool-kit-review-motorcycle-repair/ comments always welcome. My Two MSR bottles do not out gas at all. The problem of smell only happens if you overfill them and it takes a lot of time and washing to get the gas smell off the outside of the bottles. Clothes don’t smell with clean bottles. Have had them locked inside my side bag for 7 days up to 110 degrees and no smell. If you are concerned then attached them to the outside, like one each just behind the passenger foot rests attached to crash bars. VentureFar...

no. The app just reads and reports. It can be set to ALERT you when riding or just show you when you open the app. I honestly don’t see a need for the t fitting since you know what the pressure is. Ha, now you can plan to have a helper to get you off the ground because there are no tire pressure false alarms. You know when you will need air. Also the unit simply unscrews so why add the T? If you are replacing your tires then at that time it will be a mini added convenience for the future. VentureFar..,

Ha ha. Trust but verify ! No need. I communicated with the factory over a three week period and one of the questions I asked is how accurate is the TPM. They told me that it is 100% accurate 100% of the time. Any other gauge may or may not be as accurate. Papa Fred don't waste your time fact checking your purpose built TPM, there are plenty of other things to fact check :-) Isn't it interesting how much hotter the rear tire gets than the front? Two up yesterday I gained 10# in the rear while riding at 50 mph at 76 degrees. VentureFar...
-
So, the people that purchased these TPM - what do you think? Please respond. I put my reputation ( such as it is ) on the line for this product. I Love mine. riding every weekend I have only laid down on my back to fill my rear tire 1x. now knowing that the pressure in the rear tire rises to much while riding when I was at 35 pounds and riding solo, I didn't bother to fill it to 36 since it was a hot day and would be over 36 within minutes. Clearview Windshield
VentureFar replied to ecbaatz's topic in Star Venture and Eluder Tech Talk ( '18 - Present)
I didn't know about the loctite issue and about 6 months later my shortie shield literally came flying off my bike and into my lap on the freeway. It was a strange experience seeing my shield wiggling and then rising. I thought it was possessed. Luckily I wasn't splitting lanes at the time. I grabbed it and pulled over. that is when I saw very screw hole was broken open. Learned that lesson the hard way! VentureFar... -

Hi all, As most of you know, I am very fortunate to have met the editor of ultimatemotorcycling.com magazine and he sets me up with cool gear to test. I could be testing bikes too, but I moved 1000 miles away from him and there are very few bikes I would consider doing an ironbutt on..... @cowpuc here is my latest review of an Adventure style boot. I am thinking that many of us have more than one motorcycle and may be interested in this review. If not, " nothing to see here, move along" :-) https://ultimatemotorcycling.com/2020/08/20/alpinestars-corozal-adventure-drystar-boots-test-motorcycle-footwear/ VentureFar...

Ha. I guess we all over thought your query. Little boy asks his mother where do I come from and she gives him the long version of the birds and the bees. When she is done he replies “no Mommy, Freddy is from Chicago, where do I come from?” VentureFar... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
