Exactly if you don't want to split ever again you don't have to. I have an RSV and two Saturdays in a row I split up 101 heading to Santa Barbara. There are only a few spots where the lanes are too narrow otherwise I had my own lane and got to Santa Barbara probably an hour earlier than waiting in the traffic. The RSV does fit but one certainly has to have low speed control down pat.....and my wife is not allowed to wiggle without asking permission I don't know why so many out side of CA find the safe practice of lane splitting so offensive. Rick did my seat and I watched him do some of it. The below is a very coarse description of a picasso work of art: He narrowed the nose and gouged out the tailbone area and covered with 1" memory foam. He narrowed the nose of the pillion as my wife's legs were falling asleep with the edge of the pillion pushing into the blood supply in her thighs. He used an electric knife ( turkey carving type) and I think I saw a hot wire but can't remember. My stock RSV seat I thought was the most comfortable motorcycle seat I had ever sat on but I did start squirming around 400 miles in a day. After his magic, I did my IronButt and was embarrassed to claim "iron" since I never felt my tush the whole 21 hours. In digging out the tailbone area it sunk me deeper into the seat and now the back "lip" of the seat actually acts as a backrest, so much so, that I decided I don't need to buy a backrest- and I am a backrest fanatic ! for the pillion - there are adjustable floorboards etc http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/baron-custom-accessories-adjustable-passenger-floorboards/part/BA-7000-00 not specific for RSV but will give you the idea http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/adjustable-passenger-pegs-pair-harley-davidson-electra-road-glide-road-king-07-09/part/KY-4571?source=igodigital Hope this helps. Me too now! Gas station was the only time she was on the bike without me. That won't happen again. VentureFar... -

don't you just "feel" it is going bad at that moment but the events just unfold anyway because there is nothing you can do against gravity. Nice thing I am hearing from all is "no damage" when it is a stopped layover. VentureFar... -

....does she have a sister ? We have an intercom and I tell her to be still and she still moves. I am splitting lanes in LA freeway traffic on my RSV at 5 mph and she wiggles. VentureFar... -

Normal parking lot- departure scenario is I get on. I start the bike. I lift the kick stand . I straddle the bike with front brake on in neutral- she climbs on. At gas stations she has always stayed on the bike. I climb off, gas up, get back on- lift the bike off the kickstand and go- like I said above, this time she wriggled left as my heal was lifting the kickstand and plop. Moral of the story: She won't be staying on the bike at gas stations any more Or Find a lighter wife whose wriggle doesn't upset the apple cart -
Woo hoo, Stratoliner wheel!!

do you have the leveling links too? I went with leveling links and 130/90 16 narrower front and the bike is a dream to ride slow speed and twisties - no more arm pump! -

Ok- " reached with my left foot for the kickstand.." And what do you want pictures of? My bike in its side or my wife wiggling at the wrong times? Only the "best" friends take photos before helping and I can take a selfie when she wiggled because it it always an "oh $h!t" moment when she does it. Not to mention stretching out her legs in front of the pillion foot pads just as I come to a stop. Uggh. VentureFar... -
Got gas with wife sitting on pillion same as we always do. Climbed back on and righted the bike. Reached down as we all do to bring up the kickstand just as my wife wiggled to the left. Before I could get my left foot planted my "never laid over RSV" was past the point of no return. There is my baby laying against the highway peg and me saying rather loudly to my wife in the intercom "step off". Knowing how to lift the bike from previous experience with other bikes made a big difference in my attitude and demeanor. Still had a bruised ego but I will certainly make sure to be stabile before reaching for the kickstand any more. When did you drop yours? VentureFar...

Wizard or anyone - do you know why the pump is hot if it is NOT working? I can't figure it out. Thanks VentureFar...

Cougar, I only have 13,500 miles on my 07 RSV and mine stuck ( which is why I started this thread). You mention "newer" above - How much newer than 13,500 miles? ALL: Does anyone know why my fuel pump was burning hot and not clicking / not pumping fuel - were the guts stuck with voltage going to the "pump" ? It doesn't sound to me that my points were stuck but the actually works of the pump were stuck. Does anyone know the mechanics of the pump to tell me why my pump was so hot when it wasn't functioning? Thanks all VentureFar...
