  1. I passed a RSV (appeared to be silver) on Route 204 in Pickerington on Sunday. I'm wondering if it was a member here?
  2. Believe it or not, our manuals today still follow the same format. I'm a helicopter pilot and will tell you that the "dash 10" (operators manual) for the most complex equipment in our inventory still has that familiar look. I'm in awe of the fact that it's from an era when Marshall was the Secretary of War. That's incredible
  3. I tried to detect a difference in pad wear from left to right, and there might have been a slight one. If so, it was practically negligible. Thanks for the info on the rear pads. I'll check them soon.
  4. While reinstalling my front wheel after a tire replacement, I decided to clean the calipers before reinstalling them. I noticed that the right side (when sitting on the bike) seems to be producing more brake dust and there seems to be a little more wear on that side. I've assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that the right side is carrying more of the braking load than the left. I don't notice this when riding and it may be a non-issue. My question: is this something I should worry about and 2) if so, how do I adjust this? Also, what's the typical mileage I should expect from brake pads? I currently have just over 14K on the bike, mostly highway miles.
  5. That's a lotta legs!
  6. All I know is that I HAVE to get to a rally soon 'cause I've gotta meet this Puc guy. My kind of dude (a little nuckin' futs).
  7. I bought a used Garmin 660 on eBay and I love it.
  8. That's what I was after! Thank you.
  9. I recall reading a thread last year from a member who makes a device that uses the CB transmit buttons to toggle the intercom on and off. I have two questions: 1. Can the device be used if I also install a Buddy Rich cable for the GPS?, and 2. Can someone please point me to that thread again? Many thanks.
  10. I had an opportunity to do a two up ride with Jason Pridmore a couple of years ago on one of Michael Jordan's 1000 cc superbikes. After two laps around Mid Ohio raceway, I was done. I thought I was in pretty good shape, but this was humbling. It amazed me how hard these racers brake going into tunns. I've gone around the same course in a two-seat Indy car with Mario Andretti and their is no comparison. Motorcycle racers earn every penny of their pay!
  11. I use this on my Raven and I love it. So nice to roll home after a long ride and right into the garage. Completely invisible on the bike.
  12. Just finished installing the plug and play light from M61A1Mech. I can't express how easy this was to do. The instructions were professionally done and WAY easy to follow. I'd recommend this option to anyone looking to increase their night time visibility. Running lights, brake lights, and turn signals all operate flawlessly. Steve, I owe you a cold one some day when we meet on the road!
  13. Thanks for the info. I live 20 minutes from Iron Pony and leave a lot of my kids' inheritance in that place! I have found that their prices are tough to beat.
  14. +1 on the Safety Course. Started my 17 year old son on a Suzuki Boulevard C50T last summer. It's a very versatile bike that makes decent power but not too much. Easy to transition to longer rides when he's ready, but very manageable around town. We started trail riding together when he was younger, so this has been a pretty adjustment for him.
  15. I second that about the sand and grit. Got out for the first time today and was surprised by the amount of both, and throw in lots of loose gravel for added measure. Be careful out there!
  16. Keith, where did you get that one? I like the look a lot.
  17. Email sent. I'll take one.
  18. I'm looking for the spoiler with integrated lights for my 2007 RSV Raven. The accessory section of the Yamaha site says it's out of stock. Any ideas on where I can find one? I really want to increase my visibillity at night while keeping the bike as original as possible. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
  19. Sent my daughter off a couple of years ago. After doing that, I went home and apologized to my parents for not being very compassionate when I did it to them.
  20. So, I think you just answered a question I've been pondering for a while. My wife and I currently use HJC 3/4 face helmets with boom mikes. I'd like to switch to modular helmets but I'm not sure how the boom mikes will work with that style. Does the boom mike fit inside the chin bar on the helmet or does it remain below it?
  21. I pray in agreement with you for the very best possible outcome.
  22. Dude, must be the theme for the day. I heard about the new Limited's and decided to stop by and check one out. Holy cow...what a beautiful machine. Water cooled and 105 foot pounds of torque. I haven't ridden one, but it seems Harley fixed all that ailed the former bike. The electronics in the fairing (to include the GPS) are off the charts. I have to say, I never gave these bikes a second look, but the 14's are a game changer!
  23. Guilty as charged. Hello.
  24. Unfortunately, I don't. If they're bikers, however, I'll be happy to look them up!
