I installed my new SCI diaphragms today. They fit like a glove and were pretty easy to install. Warm enough here to run it up to temp and go vroom, vroom. I saw a few bikes go by, but there is still salt and sand on the roads, so I can wait.

I am waiting for them to open up a season on them. They are a nuisance, and sometimes a hazard to traffic when they are scavenging the road-kill. I love to watch them, but they are almost to the point of over populating. Maybe we could shoo some down your way?

After you check and clean all the grounds, check and clean all the grounds.

There are two fans in the freezer area. One blows up into the fridge, the other for the ice maker. Did not see any manufacturer ID. Same motor on both. Housings had minor differences. Fan housing was not snapped together very well when I got it.

Our 12 year old LG (Kenmoore) has the bottom freezer. It was getting louder and louder. I found a youtube video of the fan replacement process and it didn't look too bad. The fan was behind a panel in the freezer. I ordered a fan online and it took about 20 minutes to change. The hardest part was pulling the unit out to unplug the power. It is quiet as a mouse now. The house has to be perfectly quiet to hear it running.

2018 Yamaha Star Eluder
Karaboo replied to Rafterd's topic in Star Venture and Eluder Tech Talk ( '18 - Present)
That article also said the last Yamaha Venture was in 2009. OOPS. -
Did you ever watch "That 70's show"? They nailed small town Wisconsin in the 70's. You could get into trouble without really being in trouble.

84 Venture Royale CLASS problems

Before you replace the control unit, you may want to check the rest of the wiring to the solenoids. See if there is 12V to the pump, too.Try jumping 12 volts to them, to see if they still function. If there has never been any maintenance done on the desiccant or inlet filter, they may be stuck. -
This is what I got to replace mine. Direct bolt on, almost identical to OEM. https://www.sierra-mc.com/proddetail.asp?prod=AO-GL12-ANT It still folds like the original, too.

I doubt if I will ever see over half of the models they discussed. I doubt if there are any dealers within a thousand miles of me for most of those brands. I still WANT to see them all, though.

I didn't notice any change. I don't recall being told not to say "Merry Christmas" or hearing anyone say anything else to me. Maybe I don't get out enough (or into the cities enough).

I have an antenna, but it is missing the top (CB) mast. It still works for radio reception.

Awesome way to end a year. Congratulations!

Trunk Rack Grommets

You can get them from BigBikeParts.com either as rubber only or with fancy metal star washers. Or go with the faucet washers. -
What gets me going, is that around here they leave the deer carcasses around long enough to draw in the eagles and other scavengers. It wouldn't be so bad if they took them off the shoulder and put them on the other side of the ditch. Then it would just be entertainment.
-
They are pretty good at rounding off the hex, if that is what you are going for.
-
That's what happens when you put the deer crossing sign in the wrong place!

Here is a bike converted for electric power I saw at a local University car show. Not real pretty, but the owner said it handled fairly well.

GREAT to hear Sharon is back at home! Sounds like a full recovery is on the way.

I could use a Suzuki T500 Titan to play with. Or the Kawi 750! Or,, or,, or.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Sharon for a successful surgery and a complete and speedy recovery.

Well, I got a chance to ride the Indian Roadmaster so I could get a feel for the differences and similarities to the new Venture (which I rode at Red Wing). The Indian was a used model (2016 I think) with a few updates. It had LOUD exhaust, an intake kit and a cam kit. The first thing I noticed was the cable operated clutch. The dealer said it was done to get better "feel". It "felt" like my hand was getting sore after a few stop lights. It handled well at slow speed, but not any better than the Venture. It seemed to get up and move better than the Venture, but it may be because this Indian was "tuned" to work with the upgrades. I liked the air management on the Venture better than the Indian. The Indian did have a moveable windshield, but the Venture had other vents you could play with to get air flow. Speaking of air flow, this Indian really got warm in my short 15 mile ride. My right leg was cooking through my jeans every time I came to a stop or even slowed down. The Venture got kinda warm, but not that warm (and it was a warmer day). The Indian gets more style points, but I could care less about style points. It seemed smaller than the Venture. I am only 5'-10" so it wasn't really cramped, but I was glad I wasn't taller. The Indian just didn't feel like it should cost as much as they do. The Indian had some peculiar engine noise (even above that LOUD exhaust) and seemed to have an abrupt power band. The Venture felt smoother, more relaxed and more refined. Bottom line, though, is neither one has the fun factor of a good first generation Venture when you feel playful.
