There is a metal core in the boot. Check for leaks. I would not replace them, unless the appearance bothers you.

I wonder if the system voltage may be dropping. That would cause it to spit and sputter.

I changed out the coolant and fired it up for the first time, this year. It started and ran as if I rode yesterday. Checked all the fluids, the tires and controls, then took it out for a quick 40 miles. It's nice to finally get a break from work to relax a little. A little warmer in the mornings and I will start riding to work. That will give me 110 miles of smiles a day.

The 1st Gen Venture chassis is completely different from the Royal Stars. None of the changes made to lower a Royal Star will apply to the Venture (Gen 1).
