Well, Most of you know that theres the 2 types of diabetes. Type I is your insulin dependent, meaning that they need to give themselves shots or are on a pump. Type II is your most common type in which you take a combination of oral medications, diet and exercise. Type II can be controlled mostly by your diet and the exercise .Most common cause is being over weight and your body can't produce enough insulin to keep up with the sugars in the blood stream.
Eating a lot of starches /carbs. is the biggest problem since they produce sugar after they are eaten. (but they are Sooooooooooo.... good.)There is no easy answer to this disease because it affect so many other body systems. As far as a cure well since only one organ produces insulin in the body which is your pancreas and there are not many organ donors.Thats why human insulin is made.
you need to do your blood sugar test and your hgbA1C every 4 months to see how your meds,diet or exercise is keeping the disease in check.
I understand how hard it is to follow all these things since I was diagnosed as a type II diabetic in 1988.
