  1. Sorry to hear this.
  2. "Big Red" "Little Red"
  3. Actually, it is very good to hear from you Abdul. Hope you are doing well. Yes, if the winter ever really let's go it will be great to get out on our scooters! I can't wait to get out for a good long ride on "Little Red"
  4. Yes the price is right on them now. When they came out Honda priced them to high. In Canada you can only get the deluxe model there is no standard and only 2 colour choices, Red or Blue.
  5. BlueSky wins a cookie! You know your bikes....Honda CTX1300
  6. Yes! Yes, it does.........but it's not.....same motor....so good guess.
  7. Well I went and did it! Haven't been around here much lately cause I've been lurking around on another M/C forum. Yes, I bought a new to me bike.....1300 V4, fuel injected, water cooled, shaft drive, saddle bags, a rear trunk, center stand, heated grips, ABS, traction control, all LED lights, touring Windsheild and fairing with built in speakers and blue tooth capable stereo but NO cassette deck.....

    Wish list

Used to visit this site all the time, for some reason I'd forgotten about it......thanks!
  9. Yes another 2nd Gen. is a possibility......I've had a 2005 and a 2013. I just wish Yamaha would come up with another new touring bike....3rd Gen. but not holding my breath! Might have to buy a Harley! .......
  10. The Tenere was a great bike lots of power for a 1200 twin. April to October.....I put 18,473 KM on it. (11,478 miles.) Most I've ever done in one summer. I loaded it up with the stuff/options that I wanted, to make it mine ...... but .......somehow it just wasn't my style. Every time I was out riding with friends they were on cruiser type bikes and I always felt like they were just poke'n along. On the Tenere it was great for cruising but you got bored, you just wanted to go or take off Off-road'n. I missed my comfy couch of a curiser where I could just lean back stretch out and poke along, couldn't do that for long on the Tenere she just got bored and wanted to go! (I'm sure the guys at the Ontario Ventureriders rally thought I was nuts! Every time we where on a ride, I took off through a ditch or something.) The other thing is, I like chrome and there just isn't much on a Tenere, I'd clean it and polish it all up and there just wasn't the satisfaction of all that Bling. No problems at all everything worked as it should, did 3 oil/filter changes, had to change out the OME Bridgestone tires a little sooner than I would have expected. But they were a compromise on road/off-road tire and I was using them at the time strictly on road, with the bike heavily loaded. The high heat and pavement of Deathvalley just seemed to do them in, the tread and of course the bikes handling went away fast. A new set of Michelin's, mostly road tires and it was a new bike again. My only knock on the Tenere and it is the nature of the beast, it is a very high seat to get a leg up and over. I'm 6' 1" and I found it a tough go to get on even with the seat in the lowest position. I could just stand flatfooted on the ground once I was seated, which wasn't bad, but my knees complained about climbing on and off. (Getting old I guess! ) So wasn't in love with her, hadn't even given her a name......I knew we weren't meant for each other......time to move on.....rather than having all that cash just sitting stored away for the winter and paying Insurance on her. (They make us pay year round up here.) Take the hit now on selling a new/used bike, use the money elsewhere and maybe start shopping for something else in the spring, we'll see.
  11. I sold my bike in October......been Bikeless since. I must be starting to feel the "withdrawals" .......can't stop looking at classifieds, eBay and Kijiji bike ads lately!
  12. All the best Tom.....you collect every dime you can Brother I know you deserve it. I'll tell you I retired last year and it is great, I miss the folks I worked with but not the job. To tell the truth the job was a blast, back in the day but I wouldn't want to be a rookie staring out now......just to much crap going on these days!
  13. YA!! "Rough it!" ........."TENT POLES"????!!!!! We don't need, NO STINK'N TENT POLES!!!!!!
  14. Thanks Ben I really appreciate you counting me in . And I'll bring the Brains of our little outfit along as well......
  15. Got it today......thanks Lewis. FYI
  16. As Reineyrooster said that bike is from a shop near Kincardine Ontario and it has been at several bike shows and meets here in Ontario. This is a photo of it at Friday the 13th in Port Dover Ontario a few years ago.........it is a 1st Gen Venture and they used parts from a snowmobile to build the stretch.
  17. It is a nice bike...very off road, less touring....check out the Yamaha Super Tenere. I might be a little prejudice here.... Here is the same guys review of the Tenere back in 2014 and the bike has been up-dated since then......
  18. Wow, Rob that is an awesome bag and Nelson-Rigg makes great stuff, l've have one of their t-bags for years and it's held up real well. I also have one of their half bike covers, I bought it in 2000, I'm still using it and it looks almost new! Be careful with that bag on the trunk rack, that bag looks like it will hold a lot and the trunk racks are only rated for 20lbs. And that bag looks like it might catch a lot of air while the bike is moving and put even more stress on the rack and the thin plastic trunk lid. I had the Yamaha OME trunk bag, which is a lot smaller and I used to worry about putting to much weight on the rack and it cracking under the stress......Just my
  19. Yes Carl and I have photographic evidence.......notice the missing plate in this picture?!
  20. But what if on my travels I drive through a Cow Pattie and have an accident and crash into a Harley driven by Yammer Dan on his way to a Fix It Day in a galaxie far, far away, hosted by a ConvictBird!???!!! Oh! No time paradoxes! My head hurts.......
  21. Harley Hack....... Bought me a Harley........ Harley Licence plate bracket! :rotf:
  22. Well myself, I just wear my "Speedo".......like I just did at the Canadian Ontario Rally last week. Seems to me someone on here took pictures.........I'm sure they could be posted on here?!
  23. Actually that would be........"3rd" that suggestion...... I will say I seem to find that I end up getting holes in Frogg Toggs pretty easy.....but I am hard on my clothes.......piece of Duct Tape will patch them in a pinch and it sticks to the Frogg Togg material better than the other stuff.
  24. The one I'm wearing now is the best rain jacket I've ever had and the best at it's price point. There are others out there that cost more and might be a bit better and ones that cost more or the same that aren't near as good. I also bought a pair of their mess pants, I like this gear so much that when it comes time to replace my Joe Rocket AlterEgo systems jacket I will go Olympia, probably the Motoquest jacket. There are slightly better jackets out there but the price points are higher. This stuff isn't cheap but it is good, I HAVE NO affiliation with this company. If you want cheap, cause your wife doesn't ride much Frog Toggs would be my next choice. See below for Olympia's .......watch the video! http://olympiamotosports.com/product/new-horizon-rain-jacket/
  25. My last rainsuit leaked like crazy!!!! The new one is much better....
