  2. Hey Kevin I'm going to guess at Puc's new scoot's numbers......Let me know how I do?! Here's the info off my 83 Standard. Vin# JYA26H008DA003200 Build date 2/83 mileage 76500. Curious where this falls in the production sequence? Larry. (That would be Carbonone's.)
  3. Before I retired we had a real problem with street racing and started to seize vehicles and get court orders to crush them. The main reason was to make the poor guy cry to see his baby smashed. Actually the real reason is the vehicles in most cases are modified and illegal for road use. The other is liability you sell it at auction and something bad happens with it. No matter who's at fault....Guess who going to get sued? Same with guns........
  4. Bike Cover??!! I thought that, that was one of your old T-shirts!
  5. If you use a Carbonone lift adaptor and you put a center stand on, you won't be able to use the lift adaptor because the center stand mounts were the lift adaptor would attach. Just FYI.
  6. I could be wrong.....but isn't that going to void your warranty on your cassette deck!??!!?
  7. I know I'm bad for this but I just Hijacked my own thread!

  14. Funny! It looks just like the one my friend had stolen, along with his son's little dirt bike and the trailer they were both sitting on, from his driveway last fall. (True story.) Doesn't have KM/H on top and MP/H on the bottom of the speedo does it?! (Just kidding.) I bought my Tenere because my friend Jason has the KLR (The Ins. Co. payed out & he got a new one.) and my other friend has the V-Strom. For some reason I was having trouble on the Venture following them to the places they kept taking me! I'm really starting to discover my kid again on these "Adventure" bikes, back to the bikes when I 1st started ridding motorcycles, the enduros I had then. Maybe not as crazy in the dirt as I used to be, after all I'm not a kid anymore. But these bikes are capable of going pretty much anywhere. And getting to the middle of nowhere from somewhere, they're more then comfortable on the highway. In the case of the Tenere I'd say even more so as a long distance tourer. Your son should have a blast with that KLR!
  15. A mess of rip-stop nylon hanging off a motorcycle handlebar, does not an Inn make! Red Roof or otherwise.....
  16. I guess I have commitment issues......I always love my bike... ....but I see another pretty face and I just can't help myself! The most I've manage to stick around for, before I've moved on is 36,000 give or take......... Oh! Does that make me a bad person?! Somebody else always seems to get my nice bike when I get another one and then I spend the :mo money:to make it my own........... I never learn......but they're all so shiny and I think I have a problem....
  17. High Tea requires white gloves and a fascinator!? How were the scones? Happy mother day Saddlebum!......

  19. Hey Freebird I'd like one of those domed decals, please. I will get the guys coming to MD to get it from you, if you can just put one aside. I'll write them a list so they won't forget & bring the cash. (With the other stuff they're suppose to bring.) Thanks.
  20. I got an e-mail from Yamaha that was an on-line survey for customer satisfaction and dealer performance........ I had a good time filling that in..... I put crash bars on it yesterday and worked today at mounting driving spotlights on the crash bars. Got them mounted but still have to wire them up. But they look good! Me like! Oh man, I just thought.....I'm going to be in trouble with the:photographing: Sorry Puc I'll try to take pictures of the crash bars & lights tomorrow.

  24. Hi Don I've got the box back and on my bike, they manage to get the key out and fix the cylinder but the trim around the cylinder has a couple of gouges in it for them working on it. The cylinder is on back order with Yamaha so I'm waiting for a new one but I do have a box that works and two keys for my bike now. The windshield is another story, they ordered it for me and I agreed that it could be delivered to my place as I would switch between the regular and touring shield anyways. Well I got the windshield but it was the wrong one, it's for a 2010-2013 Super Tenere. They changed the mounting system for the windshield in 2014 on, to make it easer to adjust the height of the shield. So I called them and of course the guy had to argue with me about it, until he finally agreed it was indeed the wrong one. He said he would have to call me back as he would have to try and track one down. Apparently there are not a lot of them available and he would try to see if another dealer had one. I asked him what he wanted me to do with the windshield I now had. He told me to keep it, said it wasn't worth the return shipping cost. So I now have a tall touring 2010-2013 Super Tenere windshield for sale at a good price. The latest is my Windsheild has been shipped from a dealer in Erie Pennsylvania but they can't tell me when it will get here cause it was shipped on the cheap with no tracking info. available.
