I bought new ones of those. I didn't mess with mine. I have no ideas for you either. Sorry. -
Motion Pro SyncPro - either I or it ain't right
GigaWhiskey replied to GigaWhiskey's topic in General Tech Talk
I'll give this a try again. The only part I may have not done is "Adjust the four screws down until all columns are equal near the bottom of the gauge." I think I turned them down to the bottom and it was still wanky. -
Motion Pro SyncPro - either I or it ain't right
GigaWhiskey replied to GigaWhiskey's topic in General Tech Talk
Well, it won't calibrate now. Adjusted the four calibration screws full counterclockwise on the sync tool, #3 is an inch from the top of the tube and the other three are just above 3/4's the way up the tubes. I really did think this was a morgan when I ordered. I noticed it afterwards. -
This thing or I are wanky. I think I read the instructions correctly to calibrate it. I turned all the screws counterclockwise until they stopped and then turn clockwise to even them all out. All looked good until I plugged each hose into each port on the bike. At 1k, #3 rose to the top (prolly some came through). Then a little later all four did the same thing. All the restricters are int he hoses and at the carb boot end. Tell me what I have done wrong here?

Fast iddle and does not return. Cost to fix?
GigaWhiskey replied to AmeriCuban's topic in Watering Hole
I had a high rpm issue and I had to push back on the throttle to get it down some a week or two ago. I had backed off all of the carb sync screws and not all of the carb butterflies were even. I had the airbox off (engine not running) and turns the sync screws back in until they were all closing at the same time. What it was doing was sucking a lot of vacuum through the hose on #2. Does the idle drop a lot when you pull that hose off of #2? If you lightly suck on it the rpm's will increase. -

Not a bad price at all. Here is how mine leans, just for grins. It is a decent pull to get it off of the sidestand. Btw, we request pics! lol http://gallery.me.com/rturton/100013/100_3411/web.jpg?ver=12173883230002 -

Mine rides a bit hard. I have progressive springs in the front which will make it tight. I think I even have the full spacers in there too. Can't quite remember 'cause i had them done for me. Any air in the front just makes it harder. Putting those springs in is a common thing because the original springs will wear to almost nothing bottoming way too easy. Does she seem to lean way over, more than what you would think is normal, while on the sidestand? If so, you might just have progressives in there. You might have too much air in your tires as well. Stay out of the potholes, lol. -

GigaWhiskey replied to BigBMattie's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Don't forget to fix your sig. There is an 'e' missing in two words - Venture Royale. Or are you just waiting to be finished with the issues? -
Purchased items from MiCarl and Skydoc17 recently. Excellent customer service. They will bend over backwards to take care of you. I would purchase from them again! I would recommend these sellers to anyone! -------------------------------- Admins & Mods, can we have a subforum created for Good Sellers so posts like this can be collected in? All members can locate them easily and provide our members a good sense of security, quality and customer service. I use this extensively in another forum I hang out with and love it. Thanks again, Rick

FJR rear end problem on 1st gen
GigaWhiskey replied to dingy's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I am sure I missed something somewhere is some thread. Why a FJR rear versus a VMAX rear? I hope this does not end up hijacking your thread. Sorry in advance.- 14 replies

Storage Pouches
GigaWhiskey replied to elmicko's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Some people just take them off and leave them off. Even smooth out/fill in the holes. Leave at least the left hook. A 2nd gen shuffle hangs well there. There have been a few that have made a compartment in the radio/cassette area when they remove them and add an aftermarket setup.- 2 replies

Stock Thermostat
GigaWhiskey replied to Harmonicashawn's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I think it is 180 but if the PO put a colder one in, I can understand why. The temp gauge can scare the pee out of you when in traffic. I went through this for a while and the best recommendation I got was to put some tape over the guage. Do some more searching on this (temp thermostat) to dig in this a bit deeper. use some more search keywords related to this as well.
