Carb. Diaphragm
GigaWhiskey replied to buddy's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
If it is due it is due. No sense in messin' around. Replace the pinholed ones unless JT wants to share that less then a dollar fix. -
Carb. Diaphragm

My guess is you gotta twist that throttle back a bit further to get it hum like you expect. Hence, wet plugs. JT can fix em for less than a dollar. That is his hobby on his 1st gen; fix things that ain't broke for less than a dollar! -
Don't know what to say because it all has been said more than once in this thread. But, I'll repeat the main one, glad you both are OK!

Popeye, Straight up, do not play around! If that person ain't got the cash now, then he lost a fantastic two wheeled bike. Lost, KEYWORD, leave it alone at that! Like I said, let me know when you or anyone is not at your house when the bike is there, there are many parts that I have interest in. Gawd, if you parted that bike out, you would prolly get that (see above, THERE ARE THINGS I WANT!). Get this, I am being nice about this to you, tell that guy to pay up or go F himself. It is not worth the hassle, storage, stress for any of this. This person got an Ebay account to buy something then and there, not till wait until next spring. Grab yer balls, and be proud of them!

Been kinda chilly here up in North Texas as of late. Supposed sleet and snow on Tuesday as per the news. Dunno, if i will be able to do much riding the end or beginning of this year, even though New Year is an anniversary for CCOERIKA and I. Glad to see ya QWERTY JT.

No VMAX Rear for an '85?
GigaWhiskey replied to GigaWhiskey's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Thanks for the info guys! Gives me something to look into! -
I do not actually approve of what he does but I do enjoy the entertainment value and the many different camera angles along with the locations of the cameras. It was put together well, imho and not some home looking videos linked together (many are out there). As I said in my original post, he makes some good videos. It can keep you watching instead of just clicking off because it looks like the same ole thing over and over again. It seems like some of you got the idea of my post and some did not.

This guy generally makes good videos. [ame=http://youtube.com/watch?v=AqIeNALC9rI]YouTube - Ghost Rider - The End[/ame]

How about a first gen racing a second gen and the first gen wins! Or, a picture of both doing front wheel stands and the VR logo in the middle. Or, a first gen towing a second gen because it's broke. Just kidding. Keeping the bikes off the shirt would prolly be a good idea, like the Fort Collins shirts. Then all can have one and no worry that the color of their bike is not the one pictured. But, it would be neat if the screen names could be added to the breast of the shirt along with the small logo/image. I will not make Eureka Springs but hope my input will be ok.

So, how are the rides now? I do not imagine you are white knuckled now. -
How come it is always a Windows machine that keeps having these problems, lol.

Me, I do not drive a Star, I drive a Yamaha! NEway, um what was I gonna say? Oh yea, VR.org has rules???? Either we a bunch of good guys or we just don't break em! I don't and won't do that other Venture site. Had my fill of em and canceled my membership 'bout half way through the fee period. Came here and dug it as soon as I walked in and still do!

I like ta fell off my chair laughing at this post! McKinney felt like that about 5-6 years ago. About 3 years ago, people here started taking more than cash, like credit and debit cards (yanno, ta buy things).

Those lights are quite bright. I am squinting looking at the picture with all three lights on, seriously. I will be getting those fer sure!

Kewl! Jealous I am!
-
Now a pic of yer VR pullin' the Kodiak to go hunting would be kewl.

That statement got me thinkin'. On my '85, I wonder if the brights on the stock headlight (mine is still recessed), if it is bright enough to be run all the time on the bright setting as if it were a low beam on newer bike. Yanno, as if my light is very dull compared to lights seen on cars and bikes today. (Hope that made sense) NEway, I am enjoying this thread.

Yes, you need to reconsider. That is one niiiccceeee VR! If you gotta get another ride, do not give this one up!

Kewl, thanks for the replies! Looks like the Brownie will finally get some driving lamps on her.

Congrats! Guess it is your turn to spoil the grandchild and drive your child nuts. That's what my in-laws do with my kids.

Outdoing the suspected future VMax a bit there on HP. Wonder if they figured out the tire issue that I read Yamaha had with the VMax.
