...in McKinney with a mini beer keg on the trunk that had a Coors Light sticker on it.

I am going to put off the iPhone until the 2nd gen comes out. I did go out and get another 2nd gen though. I picked up an XBOX 360 and HALO 3. This looks perty good on my 61" and in 5.1. I'll have to move my modded XBOX upstairs. Hopefully I can system link them. So, since I have a new toy, I may not be posting as much! No need to play on Sony's PS3. I have owned too many Sony products that have broke, like my 57" in the garage that ended up there before it was paid off.

Well, you have had me busy looking at the iPhone keynote and at those links. Now I am:bang head: I know 3G is faster that the EDGE network. The software upgrade looks perty kewl. I have waited three months and may have to wait three more, making me nuts.

Well, been waiting since my birthday and for the tax check to come in so I can go get an iPhone. As this is supposed to have the ability to switch from listening to music to answering a call with the included earphones, has anyone hooked one of these up on their bike so it works through the intercom system and headsets?

I just saw that clip, time to call MythBusters.
-
Was the bike at full throttle, did he change gears and did have a 1/4 worth of distance to create such damage? Thats a lot of $ damage.
-
And you ride a close to antique Harley copy that requires a full mile to reach the speed we reach in a 1/4 mile? redbike, seriously, the 2nd gen is a very nice bike and well worth owning! It will last a severely long time. Many 1st gens here prove that point. The guy in the thread below is on his way home from just buying one. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=21990

Side Stand?
GigaWhiskey replied to DevilDog's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Dunno 'bout the high side but if you were closer, I'd trade parts with ya. I am afraid that lean is gonna end up being too heavy and fall on it's left side (breaking at the stand or splitting at the frame). Sometimes I grunt gittin' her upright. A bud at work can't even get it off the sidestand. Well, I have progressives in the front with the full spacers and about 60 to 65psi in the rear (this will slowly leak), when I last looked. It has a very slow leak. What funny is I let all the front the pressure all out, what it will let out, but always seems to gain about 5 to 7 psi extra. -
Sounds like you are assuming he his speaking of a 2nd Gen, LMAO! Now the 1st gen blows the 2nd gen clean out the water and off the road!!!!! In fact, we usually have to wait for them or go back and get them because they are looking for things that fell off, LMAO! :stirthepot::stirthepot: JT, yer turn!

Another rear shock question
GigaWhiskey replied to a topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I guess the bike didn't want you tinkering with it anymore. Kewl, a do-it-herselfer! (the bike) -
I think I get what you mean. Go to the state in the member drop-down, look on the right, under X Y Z, select Search Members and search away.

Stubborn Forks
GigaWhiskey replied to oldandcrotchety's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I found this post quite interesting when it comes to filling the forks with oil. Prolly want to give this a read before you get the fork oil. Yanno, so you get enough. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=21901 -
Trunk LED project
GigaWhiskey replied to lonestarmedic's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Looks great! I would be totally SKEERED to do that. I may be able to turn a wrench but nothing has ever had me as intimidated as my VR. Sure you won't need a second stator to keep that going? lol -
Side Stand?
GigaWhiskey replied to DevilDog's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I check the hole and it was about 1/2 inch and looked round. The only ruler I had to use was as old as I am and I no longer have a micrometer to really measure it. I added two pics - one on the side stand and the other is the bolt. The bolt has some weaar and I can feel it. Can't tell on the hole it goes through. While on the center stand, i measured the freeplay. From the bottommost part of the stand, I measured about 1/2 inch of play. I guess I will order a new bolt to see how that cleans it up. That bolt and nut were tight, I needed a 1/2 breaker bar to break it loose. Excuse the quality of the bike pic, it was almost black. -
Whoops. wrong post!
-
Maybe 200, I really dunno. I spend more time cleaning it than riding. Been that way the last few years but I have has plenty of company those years keeping me busier than I knew was possible.

Gotcha! Thanks Don!

In the CP, there is an option to show how many posts to show per thread. Currently, the Maximum shows to be 40. Can this be increased? I have mine set to 40 but would not mind 50 or 100 as an option.

Side Stand?
GigaWhiskey replied to DevilDog's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
My bike leans over quite far when on the side stand, kinda scary. It looks like the hole for the bolt on the frame is slightly enlarged. Dunno for sure, the bolt might be slightly worn. What part wears first, the frame or the bolt? Can some kind of shim be used around the bolt? has anyone done this? -
After market seats for RSTD
GigaWhiskey replied to roadwarrior's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I have only ridden it to work and back one day, 30 minutes each way. I can feel the differnce. Hoping to get a couple hours on it but I am sure that my backside will go a whole lot further than it had been. Still haven't had the ole lady onit for a ride. Rick did tweak it a bit so she might sit more in the seat when I stop. Hopefully I will be able to add more. BTW, you will be satisfied with Rick's work.
