Ok, now we need a clarification of the DarkSide. Is it; 1. Someone that rides a 2nd Gen? -or- 2. Someone using a CT on a bike? I always understood that coming or going to the DarkSide was when you owned or on your way to owning a 2nd gen. Not that it really matters, I just like to appear to know what I am talking about when I do talk about it.

Exactly right. When you finish the math, the final number will always be divisible by 9. They change the symbol each time to throw you off a bit more and make you think - How? It took me three times to catch on.

There are three places I want to go in my life and Nova Scotia is one of them. I want to rent a bike and ride. The other two is Russia and the Northwest Territories. The wife knows this so one day, it might happen. I used to get a catalog for Nova Scotia with all the different provinces, roads, attractions B&B's... and get lost in it. One day I might be bugging y'all for a riding buddy.

So, does that mean that rumor that has been going around for years has some validity to it?

LMAO What kind of bike is that, a GW? Can't really see the bike to tell.

Looks like a Maxim X. Had to let one go this week on ebay, went too high for me. Thought it would be good for the Mrs. GigaWhiskey.

I was hoping you would chime in JT since I know you have used the welding kit and really liked it.

That is a long first ride! Glad you enoyed it! Was it what you extected for an aged bike or more? Before long, you will wonder why Yammy dropped such a fine bike (style). The 2nd gen is a nice bike, do not get me wrong. -
Mine is like 1558 or something like that. Above the number they supposedly fixed the 2nd gear issue. I am about 74k and have not noticed any second gear issues.

Yeaa, we all one big happy family again, LOL. :bighug:

If you decide to replace the wires, get the NGK kit off of ebay. It comes with plugs too. I did it and it was a good thing for me to do as the wires on mine were original. Then, since you are in that deep, may as well replace the battery cables if they have not been done before. Squidley's (Site Mod) battery cables are a 4 guage where the originals are a 6 guage. You should get a better and reliable kick when you crank her over. Those cables are an excellent match with an Odessey battery. I never worry about it not being able to crank over - and over and over and over... Might as well knock it all out while you are in there. Personally, I thought my ole xs1100 had more kick than this bike but she was not stock. -
You have some different options. There is J&M, Edsets and autocom. You will have many different ones to choose from depending on what you are willing to spend. I think Wingstuff has a reasonable set for about $60-$70. Edsets has an adapter that will allow you to plug in and mp3 player. If you don't have a CB and want to get one, J&M has a handlebar mounted one that will also store mp3's (I think). If you have plenty of money to spend, they have bluetooth setups. My fullface needs a smaller mic so mine will prolly need to be the one from Autocom. Just seach some of the brand names and headsets onthis forum. You will find a whole lot of threads related to this subject.

I am glad you got a resolution to this issue, even though you haven't put it through its paces yet to see how long it lasts (next tire change I guess). -
There are plastic welding kits available on the Internet. They start at about $180, I think. There are a few here that have used these kits and really liked them. Many, due to cost, do the ABS resin and fiberglass cloth.
