Ride it! The wheel stands can be a bit tricky though, lol. I am afraid my plastic is gonna explode one day when she comes back down.- 19 replies

I stuffed the fuse box in there. Holds tight. -
Mrs. GigaWhiskey and I have one. Can't live without them. The address book is a sweet feature on these if you have two of them. I could never get the wife to keep up with an address book. But now she does. She updates, adds or does whatever to it, about 30 seconds later, it is updated on mine. Mind you, I use Mobile Me and I set her phone up to just use the address book for it. She uses GMail. Since we have been going to open houses, she will load the address book up with where they are. We set the GPS for current location and the first house she has added to the address book. We get directions. When we are done, we do the same thing. When we are all done, they get deleted. We get a new doctor for the kids, she adds it is the address book and GPS it and know where to go. I Check my stocks, facebook, myspace, weather and whole bunch of stuff on it. Music video's and movies look great on it. Genius on iTunes works well. There are always new free games to download and install when you get bored of the ones you have. Accessing VM is quick, no voice menus to go through. You can pay your bill through the phone. Area coverage is great. AT&T will notify you through a free text if there is an upgrade for the phone. It is much easier to navigate than a BB. Tons of other nice features. You will enjoy your new phones.

This implies that 1st gens are Royal Stars or 1st gens are not allowed. -
There is no way I can think that far ahead, lol.

I might even be able to buy you that drink I promised. You will just have to wake me up just before the event so I can pull the bike out of the cobwebs and actually show up. Momma's bike has been gittin all the attention lately.
-
Mavrick wears some that come to the knee's. They look more comfortable than a full set of chaps.
-
Momma's front end is in pieces too. I was gonna make the lowering kit for the forks but found a good amount of rust and pitting right above the lower triple tree. I am waiting for the new tubes to show up. The tubes are two inches shorter than stock. I did upgrade the bearings in the steering head though. Went from the ball bearings that fall out when you take it apart to a set of tapered roller bearings. I did polish the upper triple and repainted the lower triple. Still need to polish the lowers and caliper. Hope yer ole lady is doing as good as she can do and that your mind is still in one piece.

And here i thought you got out on the VR of yours, lol.

This one might work for you.

Erika grinned from ear to ear. She dug that. There is a chiq up at work that is inseam challenged as well. She used to ride a CBR900 (I think, it was one of the big ones) and she said she had to wear boots with 4" soles so she could ride it when she lived in NY.

Yea, the fairing was affordable and the Dunstall replicas from Glass from the Past are a little out of my range at the moment. My modding skills are not quite there but hopefully it will come around. They are not just bolt on, they take some work to fit. I have seen some GL1000s that are truly gorgeous and some of the cafe's, whew, breathtaking. That one with the dual Weber setup is really nice. I think he is supercharging it now. Thanks for the compliment.

Thanks all for the good replies. Yup, JT, that is a 4-1. The dual 2-1s were rusted pery bad and just not restorable. THe baffles in them were worn empy and just rolling around inthe mufflers. I like this 4-1 on it much better and it was affordable. A Kerker and a Yoshimura would have been nice too but in excess of $500. it was not happening. The NutZ do like to help out. In fact, ThunderNutZ (Laik) totally digs the look. He watched Mad Max (the parts I would allow him to watch) and saw the connection in looks. MonkeyNutZ now turns her own wrench on her bicycle. Her peddle falls off, she gets a wrench and puts it back on. A screw falls out, she gets a screwdriver and screws it back in. I think I know who my helper will be, lol. I have shaved the sidestand some but she still stands perty straight up. When she drops lower, the sidestand will become useless. There is a guy I am aware of that builds a lot of bobbers that can take care of the side stand for me. It will have bobbed front and rear fenders, I just do not know if I am gonna order Carpy's bobbed fiberglass fenders or just bob the ones on it. Then I have a Lucas style tailight to go in place of that large stocker. After all of that is completed, she should be able to almost flat foot it and feel comforbale along with still looking perty good. Then I will see if she still likes it and wants to continue riding it. If not, its all mine . If she does, then I will strip her all the way down, trim some frame parts off and have the frame powdercoated. Since the motor will be out, then I can work the looks of the motor.

Well, Squidley asked for an update so here is a quick one. First pic is the bike 30 minutes after I got it. Tore off the touring fairing, trunk, rack and hiways bars. It was perty darn dirty. Second pic is a bit cleaned up. She is only down two inches in the rear with shorter shocks and one in the front by sliding the tubes up the trees. Rick butler cut some of the foam out of the king/queen seat. Next weekend, the forks will drop 2 1/2 inches internally and I will still have the 1 inch to play with on the forks/trees as needed. The 16" rim and spokes are here to drop the rear another inch (currently an 18" rim) but the back tire I wanted is on backorder - http://www.bikebandit.com/product/3617 Front is already here. Still got plenty of cleaning to do but I am having a blast doing it. Had to forget powdercoating the rims and hubs because the car asked for it.

Had a good time even though my stay was short. If there was going to be a long distance award, who would have won? Ramblinman or GaryN? Below is a link of pics that I took with my phone. Not great but not bad either. Each image and the entire album is downloadable, take what you want. http://gallery.me.com/rturton#100068 Oh, there is one car pic. There was a Lincoln car show there also. There is a pic of a '56 Lincoln that I took at 11pm with no flash so it is kinda grainy.

That's a gentlemen's club, ain't it, LOL.

Ditto on what ken said. But where do you get change, I haven't had cash one me for years. And when I do end up with a couple buck or some coin, I get something to eat while at work. So, I guess that means I each lunch, out of about 20 days a month, maybe once, if I am lucky. I never eat breakfast. Rarely have something called luch but I do eat dinner. That's cause momma is a good cook. That girl can make some killer gumbo.
