  1. I feel your pain it has caused so many headaches due to oxy fuel (ethanol) this season I pulled the bike out fired it up went for short ride came back shut it off and the fuel just started pouring out of the vent tubes for the carbs. It was also filling up my crankcase. pulled carbs off and the rubber tips on float valves were bad. overhaul time. I have the same problem every year with my vmax snowmobile as well but here it forms boogers in my fuel pump and this first time this happen I took the carbs off to clean them and they were ok. put it back together same problem ran bad. I run the sleds dry when I put them away for the summer. but you never get it all out now I blow out the fuel lines. problem solved. it will also damage fuel pressure regs on the older fuel inj cars as well. shelf life is only 4-5 weeks depending on ambient air temp. look for non oxy gas stations. we have them in Minnesota but becoming few and far between the cost is more but well worth it.
  2. I can tell you I had same problem at 28.000 miles and had valves adjusted at the start of this season and that took care of it for me. Also did carbs at the same time.
  3. I know it sucks the money right out of your pocket even as your pulling up to the pump, I spend 100.00 every other day in my service truck. I do know you want to stay away from the oxy gas. I did my carbs this season and the oxy gas ate the rubber tips off the float valves. I have found non oxy gas @ fleet farm pumps. 15 to 20 cents more per gallon but worth it.
  4. they look awesome I will take a xxl thank you.

  7. Hi I`ve had this same problem with a L G and a VIZIO tv and it is the main board (power) tthere is a relay not working ,stuck how I got mine to work was a heat gun, I would take the back off and warm up the board while it was plug in. getting it really warm and then turn it on reinstall back cover and I never turned it off again. svseral times I lost power I finally got smart and stop taking the cover off and just warming it through the vent holes in the rear cover. I had a loose solder connection on the power board and when board would cool off it would shrink and not connect. warming it expanded it to make connection. I ran the t v like this for 3 years then I found the power board on line for 100.00 replaced it still working fine I can shut it off now. I see a lot of this in the automotive field with all the computers in the cars. they do what they call a cold solder connection and see this failure all the time. not saying this is your fix but it was mine and worth a try. good luck.
  8. so yesterday I post how I`m recovering from surgery, stormed here really bad till about 11 am I`m in the garage and my wife comes down and says lets go for a bike ride........I laugh and ask how were gonna do that? she says on the rsv. WHAT? I SAY. this the first time I was a passenger on my own bike yep *****......I was nervous at first but she did and excellent job. put on 128 miles. she has driven the rsv many times when the grils only weekend ride comes around once a year. she rides the Yamaha 1300 rstd. now I got a story for the grand kids.
  9. Good morning well here I sit in the garage a week after surgery and can not ride my rsv. I did get a whole 440 miles on it before surgery even with the stupid spring weather were having up here. this is the seconded time for rotater surgery, did the right shoulder in 2010 during winter and was unable to ride my sleds and thought I was goin nuts. this time im loosing out on bike season and thast even harder. I find as I get older my hobbies are changing. well I can finally get both arms to work to use computer so thought I would post and explaine to the ones that were looking to trade me my lowering kit for stock I did not have enough time to pull it before surgery its still in the bike and sound like I wont be riding till aug (sooner if I can help it ) week and a half since surgery and im pushing it a little bit already with p.t. I NEED to get riding as soon as possible. thanks to all here I enjoying reading the posts its the fix for now.All enjoy a safe and relaxing riding season.
  10. WELCOME! your better off with the Yamaha, these days the magnet is getting big that one has to drag behind a Harley to pick up the part that rattle..........just kidding but seriously you will find everything you need here and a lot of stuff you don't a lot of good peeps and info.
  11. Hello do you have the links they took out? like to get rid of them? I have the lowering kit in my bike it was in it when I bought it. I want to return it to stock and try that before I go any further. If I don't like stock then I'm gonna put in the diamond R kit to raise more.
  12. Thank you for the info. I can now confirm that I do have the lowering kit in the rear.the caliper bracket is the same as the one barrons sells. noe time to remove it im tired of dragging my pipes. thanks again
  13. Hello, does any one what the length of the factory leveling links are on the rear of the rsv? thank you.
  14. I bought my venture 3 years ago came with a barrons lowering kit installed and handle bar risers 1.5 last year I took them all out and put bars back to stock. and raised rear by an inch over stock. sooo much better handling in the twisties and curves. 1" higher in the rear puts more weight on the front end. it wasn't very stable in the twisties and I realize im not riding crotch rocket. At 6 foot for me it handles a lot better and I found the front end to be too light even more so when my wife was with me. I was getting tired of dragging the exhaust pipes oncurves and turns so I found these 1" above stock jack up links out of London by lust racing made from ss400 steel and powder coated. I was able to leave the caliper relocating mount that came with the barron lowering kit.for me it was the best investment ive made other than buying the bike. A friend of mine also bought the jack up links for his royal star tourer and he loves them as well.
  15. that looks really good I`m in line as well......to purchase
