looking for easy headlight upgrade

Not happy with HID Country at the moment. I still haven't gotten my kit. The add stated it was "Availability: Ships Within 24 Hours". I even payed for "5 day shipping". I wasn't in a big hurry, but I appreciate "truth in advertising". Besides, I ride to work in the dark every morning and would like the better light. Bill FYI, they're on sale for $37.77 right now. -
http://www.classifiedads.com/items_for_sale-ad8184569.htm Is it just me, or does this seem a bit excessive? At first glance I think, COOL! But then I factor in the added weight and rolling resistance of the second axle. The add doesn't state how much weight it will carry, but I imagine if ya need to haul enough to need the second axle, wouldn't you be pushing the limits if the bikes capabilities? Perhaps if you had one of those Boss Hogs with the 350 V8's or a good sized trike, I could see it. I do like the looks of it, and the "cool" factor though. Certainly one of a kind... maybe. Bill

I wouldn't have any luck at all... With only 40 miles left to go, while hawling an excavator back to my Dad's, I managed to blow the torque converter seal. Luckily I made it to a wayside. Now it's hurry up and wait for a truck to come and hook up to the trailer I had to drop. Then it's back here again with the same truck and trailer to pick up my broken truck to get it back to the garage. Then I am going to have to make time to pull out this POS E4OD tranny and swap in something better. Which also means I am going to have to track down a new computer to bypass electronics for this transmission. D'OH!

I'm not finding many of THESE acronyms in my Biker's Dictionary. I'll have to update it a bit. Is there anyway that we can get it uploaded to the site? Either by sending it via e-mail to a mod or uploading it to another site, then here? Suggestions? It's already pretty comprehensive, but if we all could contribute our knowledge to it, that would be a plus. Bill

What this guy said for sure. Years ago when I had my garage, I would tell my customers similar when they wanted something done on the cheap or wanted to use a junkyard part. I think it was "Ya can pay me now, or ya can pay me later". The right thing to do is to replace the cracked body. The best way to "fix" it would be to take it to someone who can weld it up for ya. It really won't cost that much. I would also be asking myself why it cracked in the first place. Like someone else here had already mentioned. JMTCW, Bill

Thanks for the post! I've been thinking of doing that very same thing. I have an engine & trany from a microbus stashed away for if/when I actually get around to it. I've been wondering how it would look. Now I know. I've been looking for an automatic trany instead of the manual though. I remember seeing them as an option on some VW trike builders website, but I can't remember where. I see he mentions an "auto-stick trans". Never heard of one. I also see he still has the radiator in place for some reason. I was thinking fiberglass instead of steel though. Lighter and able to smooth out the corners a bit better. But all-in-all, I like it. So if anybody has any ideas they want to throw my way, please feel free. Bill

Maybe this will help. I thought it was on the site somewhere. http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/dictionary/A.htm I have it, (The Motorcycle Bikers Dictionary), in .doc format, but its to large to upload. 2.31MBs. Bill

WOW! That MC rider is one lucky SOB, seeing as how he was still able to walk. The driver of the car was clearly out to kill the MC rider. I do have to wonder why the MC rider kicked the guys car in the first place. Either way, the car driver's actions were uncalled for! He should be charged with attempted murder, IMHO. Bill

Can you charge the GPS while its in the case? I can only get 45mins to an hour out of a single charge. I never did get the 3 hours as stated when I bought it. Thanks Bill

Hi guys, After pitching my tent in Scooter & Karen's back yard Saturday, I believe I'm just not quite as young as I used to be. I've never needed anything under me except my sleeping bag for a good nights sleep. Unless of course I had the wife with. Then I had a queen sized, double thick air mattress in a very large tent to sleep on. But due to recent events, I find only myself in my small tent. Nope, I still haven't given up all hope for us as of yet. But any who, or is that any whom? I need suggestions for a small, good air mattress or cushion for just myself to sleep on. Small and light when stowed is a must. Or at least preferred. Thanks guys! Bill

Hey Mike! just imagine what you could do if we got you a "bedazzler".

I see them, or similar anyway, on Tandy. BAG CLASP! Now I know what I'm looking for. About 1001 styles to choose from. Now how fancy do I wanna git... Thanks guys, Bill

Of the little guys that hold these bags to the trunk? I just won these of ebay to put on my 84. I put the MKII trunk on my MKI about 1.5 years ago so I have the clips that hold the bags onto one side, and I took the intercom controls off the other side. So I need a couple clips to put the second bag on that side. Thanks Bill
