Ya, and they kept me up way to late last night too. As if its not already tough enough staying worke at work. Lol. Sure was fun though. Don't worry, all your parts are safe.

SWEET! I just LOVE people who think outside the box. Looks great and is functional as well. I was just talking to Orlin last weekend about needing some switches by my left thumb too. Add me to the list of buyers please. Bill

Well I certainly would like to have me wife & family back. But seeing as that is NEVER going to happen, I would like Jessica Alba! But then I have no biological children, I suppose that's not going to happen either... lol Bill

Well last weekend after about 175 miles, the difference between my GPS and speedo was less than 1/10 of a mile off. I'd say that doesn't get much better. Bill

YES, they most certainly do! We also have another couple from the site staying down the hall. Jim and Diane, a.k.a. Morev4. Dangerous combo with us all together if ya ask me. Last night Dan was pushing Shari down the hall on of the luggage carts on their way to the front desk. Then Shari gave Jim a ride back up the hall. It was up hill and Jim is not a small guy, so Shari was really grunting. But "She's a real trooper"! LOL!. Just my kind of people! Grown-ups on the outside, but on the inside? It's debatable, yes! I also met LTC Steve and his wife. Also great people. I managed to hit the target on the dunk tank Steve was in with one of the three balls I was given. There's a reason I was always picked last in phys-ed. It was also good to see Orlin and his better half as well. I'll be seeing you guys in a few weeks at MD. Bill

What ya gonna do with the Wally World burners? I'm just looking for the buckets. I already have them on my scoot but one has the chrome pealing. I've been looking for some better buckets that will take a MR16 but am having a hard time finding something I like. I'm also running LED's in them. They're plenty bright and are close to the same color as my HID. The other night when my HID went out in the middle of the night, they were still bright enough to get me home and still see the deer crossing in front of me. http://www.ebay.com/itm/251035316586?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 Though, I'm sure they pail in comparison to the Rigids. Thanks, Bill Perhaps I should take a pic of them to make sure we're talking about the same lights.

9 grand! I KNOW they'll do that with no problem... -
As many of the rest have said, its probably not a misprint. I bought that same lift for that price a couple years ago. Works good, except for I don't like the wheel clamp. Otherwise, it fit the bill just fine for me. Bill

Looking to lower bike slitghtly
a1bummer replied to soyer38301's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Is there a suitable replacement spring for the rear that will lower it and keep it from bottoming out? Even with just myself an the lowest setting on the rear shock, I drag my center-stand when coming into my driveway now and then. Bill -
Valve shim kit
a1bummer replied to Billkroeger's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Hey guys, thanks for the post and the heads up on the gaskets. I have yet to do my valves as well. How long should the job take a guy to do? I'm picturing getting the valve covers off being a bit of a PITA. Any hints or tips to help get the job done? Thanks, Bill -
looking for easy headlight upgrade

So then I'm gonna assume that the ballast was bad from the start. Now I wonder how many hoops I'll have to jump through o get a new one... Bill -

Yup, headlight still works properly with a stock bulb and the RLU mod/bypass. Bill -

Bleed through as in the insulation on the wires isn't thick enough. Kind of like the wires on a neon light. Especially the older ones. When the wires touch the frame you can hear/feel current bleeding through the wires. You can see the same thing if you get close enough to one of those huge power line towers. I just got done checking fuses and connections, all is good there. Everything is nice and secure, clean & dry as the day I put it in. Just no power out of the ballast. Next question, If I put the old bulb back in, will everything still work properly with the RLU mod still in place? Or will I have to reinstall it? Just curious because I'm about 100 miles from home and I can get another stock bulb, but I don't have the RLU on hand. If it will work with out the RLU, then I'll get a new bulb locally. If not, I'll wait until I get home to put the original pieces back in and not spend the extra cash if I don't have to. Luckily the LED running lights I put in last week are bright enough to light my way even in the dark. They're about as good at the stock bulb on low. Bill -

Well, the joy of the new HID headlight was short lived! Last night my headlight went out. I only had it for a month! I'm assuming it's the ballast, as when I turn the light on I don't hear any current bleeding through the wires going to the bulb like I could hear before. Anybody know where to start troubleshooting? I'm gonna head out with the testlight and volt/ohm meter in a few to start with fuses and connections first. Thanks, Bill -
How many of you all have saw this vertical type hitch on motorcycles ?
a1bummer replied to FuzzyRSTD's topic in Watering Hole
I like the idea of the vertical mount, it gets the ball closer to bike to help reduce any tail wagging a trailer might cause. Bill -
I think a Lazy Boy would be more comfy though. I could just imagine how much trouble a person could get into by doing that... Bill

Another new way to mount stuff on a 1st gen handlebar.

Ya I have a 3 ton floor jack from them that does the same thing. Doesn't come down slow and easy as it should. Instead, as I slowly and carefully turn turn the handle to let t down gently, nothing happens until it drops down all of the sudden. Very dangerous if you ask me. Many of the bargains I've found there have turned out not to be much of a bargain at all. Now days, I pretty much avoid HF like the plaid if I'm looking for tools. What's the point of a "Life time warranty" if the tool breaks just about every time I use it? JMTCW Bill
