Pretty much my way of thinking as well. Only I keep about 7-8 over. I've gotten pulled over several times for speeding over the years. All but three times I deserved it. Here's the last detector I owned. I was huge and it went off at just about anything. A lot of things gave off signals that could set it off, even building alarm systems. Got rid of it and never got one again. To expensive to keep up with the ever changing technology. Both in radars and detectors.

WOW! Now that's bragging rights!

That is exactly what went through my head. Pay up or we'll let you house burn down. But still not quite the same seeing as how the firefighters didn't start the fire in the first place for having NOT paid the fees. Bill

Yup, I saw that one as well. Some sort of community DUE if I remember right. The fire dept was on seen to keep any others houses from burning if I remember right. They let his house burn because he didn't pay his dues. Just plain wrong I tell ya! Bill Here's the article I believe your recalling. $75 dollar yearly fee it was. The man said he forgot to pay and would do so after the fire was put out. But they still let it burn. http://seerpress.com/fire-department-lets-house-burn-down-over-unpaid-dues/9139/

If I remember right, a gln of gasoline is 6.073lbs. And the 1st gen fuel capacity is 5.4 gals. So the 1st gen dry weight is aprox 718 lbs. Bill

I wonder how it would've went for him if he had NOT saved the man's life? Just plain ridiculous what America has come to. People are afraid to do what that know is right simply because they know they could possibly have their lives ruined as a result. Like it has been said, "Damned if ya do, damned if ya don't" We need MORE people like this guy! Bill

Yes, they have buckled a couple times here now. Fairly new construction too. There's another farther down to the south I'm surprised hasn't buckles as well. Huge bump in the winter and spring. I actually have to slow down when I hit it or I feel like I could wreck something. It's been that way ever since the road got finished. Another spot that buckled is on Hwy 12 & Cty A in Altoona. It had just buckled a bit before I and IH Truck Guy and Shari come across it on our way home from Liz Fest a month or so ago. A cop had parked in front of it with his lights going to keep others from hitting it. They patched it up a bit, but its still a good sized bump. Bill

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/lifeguard-fired-leaving-post-beach-hallandale-florida-135238189.html What is our society coming to? Has anybody here seen the movie Idiocracy? Could our world as we know it possibly be headed in that direction? Sad, but I fear is may very well be true. Bill

http://www.yamaha-motor-india.com/product/ybr/specs.html Some specs here. Torque, 7.8 N*m (Newton meters) = 5.8 Foot-pounds @ 6000 rpms 7.6Ps = 7.6 Horsepower @ 7500 rpms 123Kg = 271 pounds I wonder what kind of mileage it gets. Looks alright and it would be nice around town. I wonder how much it would cost if they were brought to the US. Bill

A real heart breaker to be, by the looks of it... Bill

Is there a roaming valve shim kit here somewhere? I have the engine out of my 84 right now and before I put it back in I would like to get the valves adjusted. Happy to cover shipping/etc. costs. Thanks, Bill

I wouldn't worry about the unleaded stuff. A bigger issue would be the ethanol that's added to most 87ish octane fuels. I run whatever doesn't have ethanol added. Usually 91 octane. But sometime that even has ethanol added. Ethanol is corrosive to carburetors and carburated fuel systems. Which was one reason I converted my 78 F100 to MEFI. I would like to do it to the 84 VR as well. Just haven't had the ambition to do the research much. Ethanol also tends to strip away oil from cylinder walls. Seafoam added to the fuel will help with lubrication of the upper end of the engine and help reduce the ill effects of ethanol. Usually about 1oz/gln fuel. I do notice a difference when its added. Ya! What he said! Unfortunately I'm in the same boat to some extent. I'm better than I was some years ago but still have days where I simply can't walk without a great deal of pain even with a cane. I tipped the dang thing over twice last year because my legs have gotten weaker. The top heavy 1st gen doesn't help. I can still ride on most days with little pain. Some days it's easier to get on and off of the bike than it is to get in and out of the truck. Luckily I'm a bit of a self proclaimed engineer and will think of anything I can to keep riding. Even if that means mounting some handlebars in a sidecar if I have to. I've seen contraptions where people have strapped wheelchairs to a sidecar frame and driven from there. Or at least strapped the chair down and slid over onto the bike and rode using a jockey shift setup or similar. So I know there are some options out there even if you legs don't work as they used to. So like some of the others have said, we hope you'll stay around and continue with the input. Who knows, maybe in the future your health and/or you will, will allow you to return to riding. I'm sure there are plenty here who could help ya make it happen whatever the case may be. Hang in there! Bill

Ya, and if it wasn't for having to wait on gaskets for my blonde and this divorce BS running my bank account so thin, I'd be down there with you guys too. Assuming your going to WI MD anyway. I don't care at all for these kind of temps, yet alone on the bike. Seems to take some of the fun out of it But if it means hanging out with my buds and making some new ones, I'd gladly go out and chance a sunburn and sweat my nutz off. Hell I think the old lady wants them in the divorce anyway. The good news though, I think I may be able to make it to LLR III this fall after all. Provided I don't get jerked around by my employer some more. See ya all there! So I'll be sitting in the A/C thinking of ya! LOVE, Bill

These are the kind of days that make me think about cutting my windshield down.

Hey guys, I started collecting some of the points off of the Mt. Dew boxes and such for the Mt. Dew gear. Well I have enough for a long sleeve t-shirt so far, but I would also like one of those Drake MST Eqwader Plus Quarter Zip pull overs as well. So I figured what the heck, I'll beg for some points. So if ya drink Mt. Dew and don't collect the points, can ya send me the codes please? Pretty please? Pretty please with sugar on top? With a cherry on top even? Thanks for any help! Bill

Ha ha ha!!! Happy B-Bay ya old fart! Oh, by the way, your old 2nd grade classmate said to say hi. Ya know.... JESUS! See ya at LLR III, I hope, Bill

Well I looked through all my goodies until I remembered I gave it to a co-worker a couple years back for his 83. Sorry if I got your hopes up. Bill

86 is different than and 83. If I remember right, the 83 is different than all the rest, and then 84-85 different still than 86-93 due to cruise control I believe. But then I'm betting there are some exceptions due to how the bike is equipt. If I'm wrong, please let me know. I know I have one here somewhere, I'll look after work this evening and get back to ya. Its in the basement somewhere. I gave the rest of it away already. I have and 84 and it won't work on it. Bill

Wow, how many people get to tell that tale? I've only hit a cat quite a few years ago and thought I was fortunate to have not lost it. There is some foul language in the video, so use your own discretion. Bill
