  1. Would that be curb weight or with riders included to the total weight of the bike?
  2. So how much weight is safe to pull behind an 84 VR? I've seen these Aspen popup campers that are being pulled by mototcycles. I have an old Nimrod Capri that's 12" wider and a couple inches shorter. I was wondering how much of a difference there would be. I don't know how heavy it is but I can slide it side to side by myself when it's hooked to my car. I would thing it would catch alot of sidewinds and cause alot of drag. How heavy is a typical trailer anyway?
  3. Holy batgadgets Batman! Where could I get one?
  4. Well why can't we just put an "easy" button or something on our dash so we can change the lights at will? Just would have to make sure someone comming the other way dosen't have too maybe?
  5. I'm just wondering if anybody has seen this or if it's just a gimmick. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Green-Light-Trigger-YAMAHA-V-MAX-V-MAX-VMAX_W0QQitemZ160101856428QQcategoryZ34284QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  6. :rotf:OMG! ROFLMAO! I think the media should do a story on stupid media reports. Or would that be redundant? Just goes to show that stupid people shouldn't bread. Now why is it that in all these statistics, they only tell half the story? Say 4 times as many people are doing it and there are 2 times the problems, wouldn't that mean the problems are actually reduced by 50%? They never tell all the facts. Just the fact that there are 2 times the problems. Crap! I just realized I'm in that age group. I'm hungry! Where is my bottle?!?!?! I want my MOMMY! OOPS! I just made a poo poo in my diaper! Oh, wait, I'm NOT a baby anymore! So the MN. State Patrol and the media can bite my shinny metal ass!
  7. I did some stereo work on my bike last night after my last post on this subject. Then I realized that the stereo needs to draw power from the battery to retain the memory. Also I forgot about the digital clock. So there are at least two thing on our bikes that can drain a battery over time. As soon as I can find my volt/Ohm meter I'll try and remember to figure out how much of a drawthere is. I like the syringe idea too.
  8. Just curious. What do you guys use your GPS for? Do they serve any real purpose, or is it because of the cool factor? I LOVE gadgets but I've never need one and don't know what use one might be to me. What else do they do besides act like a digital map and let ya mark your favorite spots, etc.?
  9. Good sound advise from all. I needn't even bother to add any input.
  10. I love the "Do It Yourself" attitude. That's what I prefer. I hate forking out a bunch of dough for what I can do myself for a fraction of the price. I also have a hard time finding exactly what I need or want on the shelves. What's the worse that could happen? Just remember "STOP DROP AND ROLL".
  11. If your having a problem with a battery going dead, either the battery needs replacing, the battery isn't getting a good charge, or there is a short. Hook up a volt/ohm meter to check the voltage when it's running. Should be 13v.-15v., if I remember right. Also if ya have alot of lights and or accessories, the charging system may not be able to keep up. You can check for a short simply by removing the negative battery cable and hooking a test light between it and the battery post. If it lights, there's a short. If you do find a short simply remove 1 fuse at a time till the light goes out. Then you have to find what is on that circut that's causing the problem. This all applies to just about any vehicle. Good Lock.
