I've stared at the same thing for hours and wondered the same thing. If only there was a threaded hole in the end of the shaft to get some sort of tool on it and enough slack to pull it out to slip the clips out. Hmmmmm...

Have you gutted the exhaust collector yet? I thought for sure the knocking noise I was hearing was coming from the bottom end of the engine. I swapped in another engine and the noise was still there. I gutted the collector and the knock went away. I could have kicked myself:buttkick:. -
Timing adjustment

OK. I don't have my manual in front of me... where is the boost sensor? I guess I just assumed that like any other engine I've ever seen, (aside from the newer distributorless engines in cars, etc. these days), that these would have some sort of adjustment in the timing. So does that mean there is a computer that controls the timing? I ran some Seafoam through a couple months ago when it was not wanting to run on all four. That took care of that problem. I put some new fuel in today and went through 1/2 a tank. Didn't hear anything. Of coarse it didn't have the load it had this weekend and the weather was much cooler and not as humid. I also know I need some new plug wires and caps. Don't know if that would make it ping though. -
How do you adjust the timing if it's needed? The manual tells how to check it but not how to adjust it. I assume you need to pull the flywheel off to make any adjustments. Or at least pull the sidecover off if you can make adjustments through the flywheel. But I kind of dought that. Anybody have any pics? I've been having some pinging lately when under a load. Not sure if I got some bad gas when I went to the Dells this weekend. I'll try some high grade stuff from one of my normal stops before making any changes to anything though.

I just put a pair of those same lights on my 1st gen. I got them at Wally World for $16. I used a couple foot peg brackets to mount them to the engine guards. Haven't gotten around to taking any pics yet.

Oh ya! My dad used to hook the jacob's ladder up to the screen door to stop the dogs from scratching on the door. I wonder how it would work for a thief. Wouldn't kill him... but it sure as heck would smart.

Have you ever looked into what is "illegal" to do to stop this sort of stuff? Ever try setting up a recording of a large dog growling and barking to a motion sensor? Also in the recording you could add in a cocking gun and someone telling them to get the hell out of your yard or you'll shoot. Or try hooking things like radios, the tv, or other appliances to timer so they go off and on now and then to make it look like someone might be home. Sometimes just putting op some fake cameras in places where they can be seen will do the trick.

On my 84, it's the gold Venture Royale emblems. The V is also on the end caps on my handle bar grips. I made some inserts for the side covers on my VR and wanted to put the V on them in gold chrome. I'll post some pics when I git-r-dun.

I remember when I, my older sister and brother, used to all ride with my dad on the old Honda. I loved to ride with my Uncle when I was barely out of diapers. I used to ride in front of him on the seat. Aaaaa, the good old days. I guess a lot of things have changed since then.

Anybody here know how a fishing planer board works? Or at least know where I can find directions on how to use them? I bought a couple at a yard sale a couple years ago and never got around to figuring out how to set them up. I have one for both the port side and the starboard side.
