  1. I usually only wear my full face helmet in cooler or rainy weather. I don't usually wear a seat belt either! It's nobody else's business but my own as to why! If I get busted for not wearing one I'll just pay the extortion fee and do the same next time. If a cop wants to give me a ticket, fine. I don't want to hear any of their lectures either! It's not their job to pass judgment or fill me full of their opinions and/or points view, just to enforce the laws if they feel as though one has been broken. Not that I'm down on LEO's. I really wouldn't want to be in their shoes with all the big babies and whiners who have never been taught how to take responsibility for their own actions that there are these days. They really don't get the pay and respect they truly diverse! I'm just sick and tired of people thinking everybody else should conform to their ideals.
  2. "Bird Friend", I'll have to remember that one.
  3. It's as cold as a witch's tit in a brass bra, on a cold day in January!
  4. I used to LOVE building snow forts in all that snow we used to get when I was a kid. Nowadays, either there's less snow or I've gotten bigger.
  5. I hear a bunch of those kind of words almost every time I call one of them customer or tech. support numbers. I'm not talking about someone with accent either! I don't know if these kind of words make you list but here are a few commonly misused words that bug the hell out of my... Pimpin', Since when did pimping become a cool thing? Geek, A derogatory and offensive term. A geek was a sideshow "freak" who bit the heads off small live animals and ate his own feces. Queer, Used these days to describe a homosexual, but really means odd. Gay, Also used to describe a homosexual, but really means happy. Fag, Again, also used to describe a homosexual, but has been used to in many different ways throughout history. Like a bundle of sticks and a cigarette. Since when was it ok to call your girlfriend your ***** or Hoe? There are also all the supposed curse words. You know, the ones that some people don't want to see written here. If people took the time to learn what those words originally meant, I don't think most would be so offended by them.
  6. Has anybody noticed that many of the things that started this nation are now either illegal, ignored, or frowned upon today? If ya try to stick out from the rest of the crowd these days, someone is there with a big hammer to pound ya back down again.
  7. NOW THAT'S FUNNY! That isn't OUR "secret handshake" is it?
  8. There's also a Stant thermostat #13758 that's direct fit also. I also replaced the radiator cap and flushed/replaced the coolant/antifreeze at the same time. I haven't had any problems since.
  9. I remember getting at least that and then some on a regular basis when I was a kid. Well except for one year in particular when we had so little snow, I took the ski's and cowling off my old Rupp and put the wheel off my minibike on it so I could still at least ride something. You should've seen the face on my Dad when I came around the back of the house with it. He just got a big grin on his face and shook his head. I drove that sucker till the track fell off.
  10. On a second note. I see that the MKI, RSV, FJR and R6 all have 298mm diameter front rotors. Are any of them interchangable with the MKI's front/rear potors?
  11. Ya, I knew that. For some reason I keep thinking of only one half of the calipers. MKI has 2-piston calipers and the MKII has 4-piston calipers. Thanks for the reminder. Probably due to all the years of working on cars where they usually have a piston or pistons on one side of the calipers. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. And thanks for the clarification on the piston sizes too. That's what I was picturing in my head. Now I have to wonder about the people who are putting both front calipers on the front master cylinder. One caliper would grab before the other and cause the forks to twist and pull the bike to one side. So I would think anyway. But now that I think about it some more, I'm guessing that similar happens when I hit just the front brake or just the linked brakes. I better just quit thinking maybe.
  12. Hey dingy... You state that the front caliper pistons on an MKII are 32.10/33.96. I know that they are 2 piston calipers. Now does that mean that both pistons in the caliper on the left side are a different size than both the calipers pistons on the right? Or does that mean in one caliper the two pistons are a different size? I'm assuming both pistons in one caliper are the same size. And the difference would be in left or right calipers due to "linked" brake system. Just curious Oh ya, if ya can put a ruler or tape measure in the picture next to the levers, you can use that to find the actual dimensions of the lever.
  13. Looks like driver problems. You could try "Restoring" to an earlier date when you know everything worked correctly. What version of "Windows" do you have? XP? Service pack 1,2, or 3? I've been giving Windows 7 a spin. I had a similar problem with my connection. But I didn't have all those errors in my device manager. I simply uninstalled the network devices and their associated software, then hit the "Check for Hardware Changes", tab and it reinstalled everything. Then it worked properly. For now anyway. Or you could reboot the system and it will do the same. Either things may not have been properly installed in the first place, or an "Update" may have screwed things up for ya. There are many windows updates that I have disabled from being installed on my system for that reason. I also disabled my system from doing "Auto updates". I decide what I want updated and when. I don't let ANY software do any auto updates either. Hope some of this helps.
  14. I wouldn't mind some help with rebuilding my carbs. Now if only I could get the money together for it. My lawyer sure is taking her sweet old time. It going on about 3 years now.
  15. I'll try to make it!
  16. Thanks guys. My problem is just in between my toes. Usually worse between the third and fourth toes. The skin peels and sometimes cracks when it gets worse. Seeing as how fungi thrive in warm, moist, and dark places, I go barefoot as much as possible. Especially during the summer. I found a cheap pair of flip-flops to wear last summer. I really hate those things! It doesn't help that I have a problem with hyperhidrosis, so I do sweet a lot. Haven't been checked for diabetes lately. The first time I was pre-diabetic. The last time I was good. I'll have to look that up and do some research. I found a remedy online last night that I'm trying right now. It's four parts warm water and one part bleach. Soak your feet in it till they start to tingle. About ten to fifteen minutes for me. I try it for a few nights and see if it works. Then I'll try some of the cures you guys mention. I'll save the peeing on the feet idea for last. Unless it's a friend who has the problem, then I'll be the first to step right up to help out.
  17. Anybody have any good athletes foot cures? I'm guessing that I'm not the only one here who gets sweaty feet in the boots we wear or go camping and shower in public showers. So I'm betting I'm not the only one with this problem. But I've had it all summer. I can almost get rid of it, but then it comes back. I've used the Compound foot powder all summer and Tinactin cream. I've gotten it before but was able to get rid of it with a good scrubbing in the shower or bath. But not this year.
  18. I never knew they even tried to put together a steam powered airplane. Wow! It even had reverse. Is that only an option on a new plane?
  19. http://gajitz.com/trash-to-treasure-scupltures-from-circuits-and-transistors/ Cool!
  20. I see there are stereos that are bluetooth enabled now too. I guess that's what I get when my old outdated equipment is still working just fine and I'm to cheap to go out and buy new stuff. One of those stereos, bluetooth headsets, and GPS with bluetooth would eliminate a lot of wires and digging into my bike. I wonder how long those have been out? I really have to get out more!
  21. Now that I ask that, I see the SCALA RIDER Q2 headsets. I guess that answers the questions about the headsets.
  22. Am I safe to assume that I can hard-wire the Nuvi 550/660 to my aux input on my stereo so I can listen to MP3's and get directions at the same time over the motorcycle speakers? Or I can send the audio via bluetooth through a headset. How about if I have a headset, (either in helmet or on my head), can it be connected to the GPS via bluetooth and to the passenger or other rider at the same time?
  23. Now that's funny!
  24. Forgive me for I know that GPS units have been discussed to great extent here, but... I'm just to lazy to sift through so many threads looking for whatever info I can find. But... I'm curious what options we motorcyclists have when it comes to GPS's. I've seen the TomTom Rider/Rider2, and the Garmin 550 & 660. The TomTom doesn't support MP3 playback and at $800 - $900 bucks, the Garmins are a bit expensive for my taste. Not to mention the helmet accessories for the Garmin, which appear to come with the TomTom. What other GPS's do you guys use? I would like one to at least have MP3 playback, be waterproof, and be able to update the maps. Bluetooth would be nice for the cellphone use but not big on my list. A fair price would be nice too. I think it's ridiculous that all because something is for a motorcycle, it should cost 2-4 times as much.
