Where did the whole groundhog seeing his shadow thing come from anyway? It doesn't matter anyway. There's usually 5-6 months of it a year here no matter what. Ya, six more weeks of winter here would be nice.

Yup! I mentioned how my current coverage will be going up 48% next year. I'll be switching to Progressive and I should be paying real close to what it is right now, may a few bucks cheaper. And it's not just auto insurance that's going up either. My health insurance keeps going up. My co-pays are through the roof. I can only afford a few of the meds I'm supposed to take. Even some of those I can only afford to take half the prescribed dose.

The same can be done with a regular turntable or cassette player. Simply use a cable with the RCA plugs on one end and a 1/8" stereo plug on the other, or a cable with 1/8" stereo plugs on both ends. Depends on the output of the turntable or cassette player. Then simply plug the cable into the AUX in jack on the back of your computer. Then you'll need some type of software to record and edit the audio. I use Nero 7. I did this for my Mom with some of her old cassettes and eight tracks. Some of them were local artists that went out of style a long time ago and weren't available on CD.

Another option. Supposedly, if you already own a copy of the movie, you can legally download the movie from the internet using a peer-to-peer, (P2P), program. Like BearShare, Napster, LimeWire, etc.. Same applies to music, games, and software. But you might want to do some research and see what the legalities are in your area.

Cam cap needed

WAY off topic guys. Just the same, I'll edit my signature a bit in an effort to try and make it a little less "offensive". -

Sorry, I didn't mean any insult there. No need for either of us to get our undies in a bunch. I didn't realize I would have to get anal and quote just exactly what part of your previous post I was referring to. I didn't say I knew EVERYTHING. And what I wasn't positive about, I asked. And I did thank you for your input. But judging from your snide comment about my signature, I'm not so sure it's just about anything I said. Others can have their beliefs, I can have mine. I won't even ask about yours. I don't feel the need to say anything derogatory about you because it doesn't really bother to me as to what you may or may not believe. Besides, I don't even know you. I've never met you. For all I know, you could be the greatest person that has ever lived. About all I can do, is try to be the best possible person I can be, and hope it rubs off on the next person. -
If I really am interested in one of those things I see on the paid programming and infomercials, I just wait until some other sucker buys it and either doesn't like or never uses it and sends it to the Goodwill or thrift store. Then I buy it for cheap. If I don't like it, or if it simply doesn't work, I throw it in the scrap pile. Way to many people send their JUNK to the Goodwill or sell it at a garage sale though.

Cam cap needed
a1bummer replied to a1bummer's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Yes, I knew all that. I have been able to learn something in the 30+ years of experience. But thanks for the heads up anyway. Like Skydoc mentioned. The plan was to use some plastigauge to check the clearance. Then, if needed, shave a tad off the caps and do a line bore. -
Anybody have an extra cam cap laying around they don't need? I'm assuming all the caps are the same? I'm still collecting the few parts that got broken when one of my engines fell off my trailer and onto the pavement. Another member was already most helpful with valve covers and a side cover. I think all I need now is one cam cap. I'll find out if there's anything I'm forgetting this spring when I get ambitious enough to dig the engine out of my shed. It's the engine that came in my bike. I thought it was bad when I heard some strange noises coming out of it. It turned out to be the exhaust collector.

I found this one on eBay the other day. It's for a 94 Goldwing. Except for the mounting hardware, it looks identical to the one I had for a MKII a couple years back. I let that one go to someone here because I had a MKI and the mounting hardware was different. A year or so later I found the hardware for a MKI but no rest. Go figure! I'm hoping this wing rest fits nicely. I'll post later when I get it and tell if it fits or not.

Well if ya try to make everyone happy, somebody isn't gonna like it. It was the best movie I've ever seen. Aside from the original Star Wars trilogy anyway. The CG was done so well, you couldn't tell where it ended and the real stuff started. There has been a lot of controversy over the movie about what people think the movie implies. To them I say, "Grow up and get over your cheap selves"! But on the plus side, all that controversy is just helping the movie get more publicity and urging more people to go see it.

Just for the collector? WOW! You sure that wasn't for the whole exhaust? For $250.00 I'd be lazy and buy it. But for $800.00 I'll make my own. It may not look as pretty, but it would come close.

Difference between standard model and Royale
a1bummer replied to bigfoot590's topic in Watering Hole
It seems as though it was mentioned in here somewhere that the "upgraded" dash was an "option" in late 83. But was then standard in 84-93. Please correct me if I am wrong. I'll try to find that thread. -
When I talked to Mark a while back, I think they were going for $250.00 or so. That was probably a year or so ago.

Will it help anything if I just cry, scream, and stomp my feet for a while?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemVersion&item=300373641644&view=all&tid=399301566020 Someone mentioned that a Goldwing driver's backrest fit their first gen so I nabbed this one hoping their right. Everything looks identical to the one I had before. Except for the mounting hardware. But I already have that. I'll let you guys know if it doesn't fit.

I sent him an email asking where the rest of the bike was. This is what I got back, "The original owner cutomized this bike, added a studded seat with studded saddle bags and took off the rear truk."

As long as I keep my stock windshield & visor clean and polished with some Pledge, I don't have much of a problem seeing in the rain. At highway speeds the rain just beads right off. At slower speeds I have to wipe my visor off though, or shake my head. The part I don't like is when the rain gets over the windshield and onto the backside of it. That happens to my visor as well sometimes. It's the heavy wet snow I hate the worst! It doesn't bead off like rain.

Ya, that's one of my problems. I've been able to keep up with all my utility bills since I got a divorce many years ago. But I've always had health problems so I can never keep my doctor bills under control. So I get screwed by the insurance companies, landlords, banks, etc. because my credit is always crappy. I've had all my medical bills paid in full several time, but it doesn't make a difference if you can't keep them pain in full all the time. I know cops and employers get into hot water if they treat you differently according to sex, age, race, etc.. How come all these banks, insurance companies, landlords, etc. get to do it all the time? It would be nice if a person could get treated fairly and be rewarded/penalized for the things they have actually done in their own past. It's getting really old having to pay the price for what others have done.

There is no such thing as normal. For people anyway. In order for a person to be "normal", they must first have some sort of abnormality. But if a person has an abnormality, then by definition of the word, can not be normal. I see the word "normal", as more of an oxymoron or a paradox. Description of "normal" - American Heritage Dictionary Conforming with, adhering to, or constituting a norm, standard, pattern, level, or type; typical
