  1. For those who have the Drag Specialties driver's backrest on their MKI & MKII, do you still have room for the passenger? I put one on my MKI this winter and I sat on the back to see how much room there was for a passenger. It felt kind of tight. And I'm not a real big guy around the middle. A bit more that average, but not a lot. Plus my knees felt like they have to quite a ways apart to get around the supports. Anybody have them on their scoots and are able to have a passenger still ride with it in place? Thanks, Bill
  2. Anybody have an extra gear position indicator switch they want to part with? And how much you want for it? Need one for my 84. All I have is one for an 83. Thanks, Bill
  3. I knew there was something different about the MKII headlights. Butt how are they better? Is it worth the effort to put the MKII setup on my MKI? Would anybody happen to have an exploded view of the MKII headlight assembly? I can't find where it is in the PDF of the MKII manual. Thanks, Bill
  4. Wasn't there a relay somebody made mention of here that you hook a momentary switch to? If I remember right he mentioned it for the cooling fan mod. So once the bike was running you can push the button and the fan came on, but turn off the bike and it went off until you hit the button again. I think that would work good for this.
  5. I was curious about that myself.
  6. Hmmm... Very interesting...
  7. All to often, I know exactly how you feel.
  8. R/C Rules! The one of mine that gets the most use is a modified E-MAXX. It started out as a T-MAXX but I converted it over. I put a wireless camera on it so I could sit in the house in front of the TV and visit the girls sunbathing across the road. I also have a couple heli's, boats, cars, robots and whatever else I can find. I have an old Hirobo Shuttle Heli that I've had for about 7 years that I still haven't been able to learn how to fly properly. It works good for tearing up the lawn! I've also been slowly collecting parts and pieces for a large radio control/autonomous robot. I've only been able to build a small autonomous robot that fits in the palm of my hand so far.
  9. Sweet! Gives me some more ideas. The kids has been talking about putting an engine on a bicycle. I'll have to show him those pics. What kind of takeoff power does it have?
  10. If the windscreen could come off while riding down the road and cause an accident due to this problem, don't you think that would be a good reason for a recall.
  11. I see there are a ton of bicycle engines on eBay if your looking for one.
  12. WOW! I just found the "Official" website for the company that made those old engines. It looks as though I might still be able to get parts for it. I just may have to go dig it out of the top of my garage now. http://www.tanaka-usa.com/index.php?section=133
  13. I have and old engine that ride on the front tire of a bicycle. I think it's either a Tas Spitz or a Sears Free Spirit. Or something like that anyway. It has a lever that you engage once the bike was moving. A small wheel about 2" in diameter and 3" wide would drop down onto the front wheel and that's how the engine started. When you wanted to stop you simply disengage the lever and the engine would stay running. It had a kill switch and a throttle lever that bolted to the handle bar. It was about a 15cc 2-stroke. I took off the muffler and and took out the governor. It could do about 20-25mph wide open. I found a few pics of it.
  14. Would that be a third generation for us northerners? We would be able to ride year round then! You'll just need to install a cassette player.
  15. Thanks for that link! I've been looking for it as well.
  16. The best things you can do for your health is to simply try to eat healthy and unstrap the couch from your a$$. Get off the computer and the video games. Get outside. Go ride a bike. Go fly a kite for crying out loud! Learn how to cook and stop buying all that junk that comes in boxes or bags for a "quick" meal. And stop going "out" to eat and avoid the fast food joints. A good home cooked meal really isn't that tough to make and doesn't take much longer, if any, to make that it does to cook a box of hamburger helper. And it tastes a hell of a lot better too. Learn what all that stuff on the labels means. It sucks that you practically have to have a degree in chemistry to decipher what it says on those labels. Learn how to spot the trickery that companies use to make you THINK your buying something that's better for you than it really is. Things like, "made with real fruit", when it's really made with fruit concentrate, which is actually just another form of sugar. There was an article on yahoo not to long ago about that. It just cinfirmed what I've been trying to tell people for some time.
  17. If ya have one of those cheap piece of crap "Taiwan" made plug sockets, you could always grind it down a bit till it fits.
  18. Now that there's funny!

    spam

Spammers should be hunted down and shot! Years ago when there got to be way to many advertisements and other signs all over the roadsides and highways, the guberment stepped in and passed laws that put restrictions on it. It sure would be nice if we could do similar with all the pop-ups, ads, and spam on the information super highway. When I get a lot of spam or pop-ups from a company, that's all the more reason NOT to do my business with them.
  21. That's kind of like comparing a Cadillac to an Escort.
  22. Wow! So that would be 6 hours of work at $90-95 an hour. I wonder how many hours the book calls for. They must be way to busy to take on more work. Yet another reason I've always done all my own work.
  23. Wow! They really go into depth. Who would've thunk?
  24. In the last picture, it looks as though one of them has been dragged on the pavement pretty good.
